35. New Arcades - Stay In My SightPeak: 7Wks: 26Album: "Stay In My Sight" singleTrack: 1 Genre: Indie SynthpopAnother of my favorite discoveries this year; is this English Indie Synthpop band, New Arcades. They are very popular in the underground Indie scene and have also lent thier instrumentals to Video games from all over the world. If you are a gamer; chances are you have heard one of their Synthpop songs in the game's backround. This particular song has vocals and was even more the reason I decided to chart it.

34. Panic! At The Disco - Victorious
Peak: 4Wks: 19Album: Death of a BachelorTrack: 1 Genre: Indie Alternative PopAsk anyone and they will tell you that Dr.Indie loves Panic! At The Disco. Very seldom does a song of theirs' fail to go top 5 on my charts. Most likely they will go to #1 as they did last year with "Hallelujah" and "This Is Gospel". This year was another great year for the band; scoring two big top alternative hits. There is still one more Panic! song left on my chart. Can You guess which one?

33. Reckless Love - Monster Peak: 4 (2 weeks)Wks: 19Album: InvaderTrack: 3 Genre: Glam MetalReckless has been tearing up my year end charts since 2009 when they first scored with the big Van Halen sounding song "Beautuful Bomb". Back then thier music sounded more Motley Crue/Warrant. Of all their albums; this is the most pop sounding. "Monster" even has a similar melody to a past Britney Spears song, but it it also very tongue n' cheek with its lyrics. Plus ; it is one of the biggest underground Glam Metal songs of the year. The video is another thing all together. I gave that multiple plays on youtube.

32. Phantogram - You Don't Get Me High Anymore The original cover art Peak: 4 (3 weeks)Wks: 20Album: ThreeTrack: 3 Genre: Indie Alternative PopThis is the second time; Phantogram score a song on my year end list. This is also easily my favorite song from them so far. I would rate this up there with my favorite CHVRCHES and Broods music. Unfortunatley not may other songs from "Three" sounded that great, but I might chart "Same Old Blues" soon enough? I'm also uploading all 3 sleeves I created for the song.

31. WHITE - Future Pleasures Peak: 5Wks: 30Album: "Future Pleasures/Living Fiction" singleTrack: 1 Genre: New WaveAnother one of my new discoveries is this New wave band who have a real knack for that 1982-83 sound. This song rolled into my 2016 charts and spent an amazing 30 weeks in my top 50. Chances are I'll just flip the single over and start charting "Living Fiction" in 2017.

30. Maudlin Strangers - Gingerale Peak: 4Wks: 22Album: TBATrack: 1 Genre: Dark DiscoI love these guys. They call their style of music "Dark Disco". I started charting this song just before the Summer season began. It does have a sort of Dark Indie Synthpop vibe to it. Reminds me of songs by Swiss Lips.

29. Ghost - Square HammerPeak: 3(3 weeks)Wks: 13Album: PopestarTrack: 1 Genre: Doom MetalThis is the second appearance from Ghost on my year end list. I really love how they incorporate the synths into their brand of Metal. Brings back the days of Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark". It drops a bit this week on my weekly Top 50, but I'm sure it will be back up again; come, 2017. The cover art is a Dr. Indie, but it's also shown up here and there as the song's original art.

This is the first of them. This song was so great with the guitar works; that it became a big Top 3 hit on my weekly charts.

27. Muse - MercyPeak: 3Wks: 23Album: DronesTrack: 4 Genre: Progressive Alternative Rock...and here is the second song from Muse. I ended up liking this one slightly better for it's Killers; vibe. It was also a big roll over from 2015 and it had massive sing a long value.

26. Bastille - Good Grief Peak: 3(3 weeks)Wks: 21Album: Wild WorldTrack: 1 Genre: Indie PopThis is a band that struck gold with me ever since the release of "Pompeii" a few years back. "Good Grief" immidiatley hit my Indie Pop music sensor and became one of my biggest songs of year. One of the reasons the band is so popular with me is the Vocals. I love Dan ' Barrie' Smith's accent; which for me; adds that icing on the cake to their already great music style. With a new album just released; It's probable to run into them in 2017 as well. Sorry but because of some Youtube nerds; you don't get to see the original awesome sexy video for the song. :'(

25. Panic! At The Disco - Don't Threaten Me With A Good TimePeak: 3(2 weeks)Wks: 23Album: Death of a BachelorTrack: 2 Genre: Indie Alternative PopHere is the second ;Panic! At The Disco; appearance on my year end chart. You either love or hate this song, because of the "Rock Lobster" guitar hook in the intro. I fall into the catagory of those ;who love it. Another issue some have with the song; are the lyrics. Once again; I think they are the crafty part of the song. Then of course you have Brendon's vocals; which always deliver. For me it sounded like a perfect recipe for a top hit.

24. 3 Doors Down - In The DarkPeak: 2(2 weeks)Wks: 24Album: Us and The NightTrack: 2 Genre: Hard RockHere is a great Hard Rock band that actually got their start on the Alternative charts; back when this type of music was called Post-Grunge. Now Alt shuns off bands like Three Days Grace, Nickelback etc.., but they always fins a slot on my year end charts. This song had that hard Rock sound I really love. It just missed the Number One slot, because an even more iconic 80's band was dominating my chart at the time.

22. Carly Rae Jepsen - Boy ProblemsPeak: 2(3 weeks)Wks: 19Album: EmotionTrack: 6 Genre: PopUp next are two of my most Pop sounding songs on my year end chart. I've always been a big Carly Rae Jepsen fan and her songs chart on other Indie Synthpop charts. This song had a sort of Disco vibe and was so addicting in the rhythm; that it quickly crossed over to my Indie/Pop/Rock; hybrid chart. It also became one of my fvaorite videos of the year. Carly Rae Jepsen is so undeservingly, underatted on CHR Top 40. If it was up to me; this wouild have been the #1 Pop song of they year.

21. Stitched Up Heart - Finally FreePeak: 2Wks: 27Album: Never AloneTrack: 1 Genre: Hard RockThis is one of the few charts where you will find; Carly Rae Jepsen, sitting next to Stitched Up Heart, but both songs are epic to me ;in their own special way. Stitched Up Heart ;are a first time artist on my year end chart. I few years back; The Pretty Reckless, took honors as my favorite female lead rock band of the year. This year that honor easily goes to this band. This was a song that took a while to climb to the top of my charts, but once it got its momentum; I just couldn't stop playing it. Its very powerful in the chorus and, Alecia vocals give the songs even more epic value. This was also one of the top songs on the Active charts for many weeks.

There are still two songs left to reveal. I knew this would become a single when I first heard the album. This one is also currently still on my Top 10 songs of the week. If there is any song here that sounds like it was recorded in 1985; it would be this song. The style, the melody, even the way the girls vocals sound. Almost sounds like an, 80's, lost Madonna track. If you enjoyed Madonna's debut album; then take a listen to "Tantalized"

Peak: 1 (3 weeks)Wks: 19Album: The GetawayTrack: 2 Genre: Alternative Rock The Red Hot Chili Peppers are another one of the best bands that came about in the 90's. They are also one of my favorite Alternative bands. Right up there with Green Day and Stone Temple Pilots. This was the first single off "The Getaway". One of the highlights of this song is Flea's awesome bass guitar work. An incredible comeback song for the band.

It is more Rock oriented and Fher sounds as great as ever. Plus it has a great guitar solo in the mid break. Not sure if it became a hit on the Spanish charts, but damn; it sounded good to me.

Peak: 1 Wks: 30Album: We Are HarlotTrack: 3 Genre: Hard Rock Power BalladHere is another great Power Ballad form the band; We Are Harlot; that rolled into my 2016 charts. It has more of a Nickelback and Hinder sound to it. The guitar bassline really clicked with my Rock N Roll heart. It vocal delivery of Danny Worsnop also has incredible emotion.. The lyrics can also hit home if you find yourself at a time in your life when you are longing for a partner.

For how much I think I know about music, especially 80s synthpop, I keep finding stuff I didn't know existed - but would think I should have known. Thanks for posting about this!
Aaaaaaalmost put these on my list this year.
On my 2015 list. great one!
Major high fives here on these! So good! So glad to see them on another list!
Note to self. Listen to these songs!
Good tunes!
You're right. Very 80s Madonna. Not an 80s Madonna fan myself, but I kinda like this one.
