Is it confirmed that she’ll release the album on streaming platforms the day of release? I remember 25 was only available for purchase. If so that would hurt debit week sales a little bit. But i can’t see her not above 1 million all together anyway The only streaming 25 got was from Hello.

I think a major problem some people have with projecting Adele’s numbers is they maybe feel compelled to lowball based on Easy On Me when that was still (arguably) a steaming force. Sales may have been low but Adele has always been an album mover and it still basically went gold first week. Also people tend to forget that Hello, for all its hype and success, still only sold a third of what 25 did first week. I think anything in the area of 1.5 million SPS for 30 is completely foreseeable.

It would be wild if she occupied the entire Top 10 on the Hot 100.

It would be wild if she occupied the entire Top 10 on the Hot 100. Probably not because Stay is still holding on very strong. It would be funnier if Stay blocked an artist from owning the entire Top 10 for the 2nd time.

Would be wild if Adele managed 50million streams for each track, considering "Easy on Me" "only" did 53million with comeback single hype. I still think a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment with these wild huge numbers.
But go on queen, prove me wrong. I'd love to see her album bomb the Hot 100 in a huge way.

What evidence do we have for her sales power in 2021? EOM's performance seems to suggest that a tremendous amount of people are still interested in checking out her music on streaming, but that she got affected by the decline in pure sales just like everyone else. Did she have any physical singles for EOM?

After that huge Sunday night for her show, she will definitely top 1 million+, but how far will she go?

She's clearing 1.6M with ease.

Her special had massive ratings, even more than the Grammys, this album is easily clearing 1.5 million.

Just to refer to this later, I think this will be a monster. Very disappointed in all of you who are doubting if this will even reach a million.
It will hit 1.8M.

Yeah, I don't think the decline in physical/digital-album sales will be as severe as the decline in digital-tack sales. Those CDs and vinyl no doubt will have prominent placement at mass merchants and any other outlet that sells them. I remember at Target, when 25 was released, there was a display at the front of the store/near registers, far away from the music section.

Imagine if she actually breaks 2 million tho. Considering Taylor only decline from 1,3 million to 850k units between 2014 and 2020 (1989 to Folklore), I think it's possible for Adele to have a similar decline for a first week of a little over 2 million.

If she’s guaranteed the 1.8 million, then mark me impressed. I think she can maintain a great 2nd, 3rd, 4th week etc. as we cross into the holiday mode around here. You could likely see multiple weeks of 500k+ SPS.

I can see 1M but 1.8M seems like it would be really hard to pull off, even for Adele.

It’s a bit weird we didn’t get an early projection from Billboard or a pre-orders number from HITS.
All the biggest openings the past years had more concise projections in the week leading to release. 25, Views, Reputation, and Scorpion also I believe. Folklore & CLB were announced on extreme short notice so obviously there was no pre-release data to make projections before the album release.

I don’t even know what to predict because realistically, I think it could be low (I definitely lowballed 25 and “Hello”) whereas if 25 was any indication, it’ll also likely surpass any realistic expectations I might have. I wouldn’t have said 1M was doable if I was asked a few months ago but then I wouldn’t have expected Red to do as well as it’s doing now either. I might say 1.3M for week 1 for 30.

It's quite exciting to genuinely have no idea what to expect. My gut is still telling me to keep expectations on the lower end (it always does for everything lol) but it would be amazing if she easily clears 1 million.

^For me the same is true. 30 will definitely set the new high bar of what can be accomplished given the current situation.

It was a no-brainer this was going to go way beyond 1m. Still expecting 1.6m+.

The hype that her prolonged hiatuses generates is god-tier… only her and a few other artists could pull off a 5 year break and then come back and sell +1 million in this climate. Amazing!

They had at least 500,000 vinyls ready to go I think. Whatever the digital sells, that'll be a huge boost.

Going from 3.3 million to under 1 million is just silly. I don’t know what people are possibly thinking with that prediction.

Yeah I agree that whatever she does is the new high point albums can achieve in this climate. It's telling that Drake streams to record levels and Taylor still moves physicals like no other bar Adele yet neither has even reached 900k recently. Over 1m for Adele is a massive win regardless of how much further it goes.

I feel like she's definitely doing over one million. The question is how high can she get.
I'm honestly more interested in seeing her streams. I wonder if she can manage to pull +400m
