I hope this is their first #1 on the Hot 100. There's just so much competition right now.

LOL - Remember when a bunch of morons on this board were all believing, and even yelling at me, that the other Pussycat Dolls would sing lines in the songs on this album?
We have 16 songs...and only Melody sings a few lines of ""Takin' Over the World" (filler) "Elevator" "Love the Way You Love Me" (filler)
The rest is all Nicole... we even had people SWEARING that she sang the pre-chorus to "Whatcha Think About That..." No. That's Nicole's voice being synthesized for a vocal effect...Everyone only thought it was Melody because they were using the auto tune like they do whenever she has to "sing" for the album. I even remember when on the first album, people were arguing me up and down saying that Melody was the best singer in PCD, because their interscope page said Melody is the "strong voice behind the Pussycat Dolls" and then compares her to Xtina... Sorry...but it's just so funny to me that nobody believes that now...
So, if we get a third PCD album, and Interscope says that the other Pussycat Dolls will sing on it...let's not believe them. I didn't...so I guess I'm not dissapointed... but honestly, would it have killed them to give one piece of background harmony to ONE other vocally average Doll? All we hear on the long album is Nicole.... Also, with the heavy synthesizers and auto tune on "Bottle Pop" and "Out of This Club," they could have given some of the different PCD lines of their own...buts its still all Nicole...lead and background....
Nicole needs to realize that she's had a solo career for years now...
I mean, Jennifer Lopez has Christina Milian and Ashanti blending and harmonizing with her...and then sometimes even completely singing the chorus for her while she goes "oh-oh" after every line... And Britney Spears is multi-tracked with Max Martin and members of the Clutch... They're more of a group than the Pussycat Dolls....

I wonder whether Nicole will try once again to establish herself as a solo artist after this album.

I wonder whether Nicole will try once again to establish herself as a solo artist after this album. She will. The girl will never give up. If I HATE THIS PART is a big hit, she should try again. Since the song is 100% her, I guess it means that America DOES kinda like her. She just needs stronger material on the next album. She should call the new album "I Love This Part".

For some reason I can't imagine her ever selling that many albums as a solo artist or having that much success. Even though she does most of the singing in the band, on her own she's not the same. But I hope she gives it another go because it will be funny to see her flop once again.

If WIGU had been her debut single it would have been a hit, IMO.
She just needs good material.

Most of the PCD songs are her. But this I HATE THIS PART is ALL HER. The songs reminds me a lot like Beyonce (or DC3) song DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE. Beyonce does all lead and background vocals, titles the name of her debut album at that, and is one of her best songs ever!
Maybe Nicole can do something like that.

As a radio listener who doesn't really follow PCD, I can't even tell who sings what on what PCD songs nor do I care. I always hear people complaining about who sings what on here, and people listening to the radio don't even know the names of the Pussycat Dolls, let alone what each one sounds like. That's part of the reason Nicole Scherzinger couldn't even get her foot through the door as far as having a solo career.

But judging on the solo songs they have on the DOLL DOMINATION bonus cd, there's no wonder why Nicole sings it all IMO!

Listen to 'White Lies' by Paul van Dyk and 'Make It Last' by Dave Aude. Those are better vocal performances by Jessica. If she can pull off a vocal performance like those on a PCD song, then Interscope and Nicole should let her sing on a couple of tracks.

I think that'd be one good way to kill the brand name.

Only because the label screwed around with it. I know and get that they promoted it, but it seems to me like they did a hatchet-job of it, and when it didn't blow up like they were expecting they pulled the plug.

^ i get why they did it, it seems like this year has been famous for hit lead singles and total uber-flop mediocre second singles that pretty much killed thier album sales (Mariah , Usher , Madonna etc. come to mind) so they recognized the problem and rush released this in the U.S. and possibly may have saved this era

Mismanagement seems to be a common theme through all these 2nd single problems. Mariah had too much promo for too little results. Usher was expected to ride the wave of LITC and not enough promo was. Same with Madonna riding 4M, although outside the GI2M video, she had no promo for that single at all.

We all know PCD can be power house promoters but we also can't expect them to promote ever single like they did for When I Grow Up! They can only be on so many shows and do so many performances so sometimes the song does have to make its own course.

I just listened to this. This definitely sounds like a hit.
If it flops, I'll be very surprised.

I'm not talking about when the Dolls lipsync on the chorus, but Melody does sing and she does give a few adlibs.
