Love the the song. This is a bit off topic, but I was looking at their GH the other day and nothing from their previous album is on it. Why is that? Did everything flop? I remember buying it seeing that I have all their albums but I remember listening to it once and never again unlike their older albums.

^No, nothing off Still Feels Good flopped except "Bob That Head", which I'm sure the band would rather forget about. The other four singles peaked at 1, 2, 2, and 1. Most likely they didn't want to duplicate the material from Still Feels Good, since a single from that album was climbing when the GH was released. (A couple other tracks are missing as well. I know "While You Loved Me" was among them.)

I know they got off to a real fast start back nearly 10 years ago, and if I remember correctly almost all of their songs went top 10. Was"Bob That Head" the worst charting single of their career???

Yes it was. It peaked at #15 on the country charts, and all of their other country releases got to #9 or better. "Life Is a Highway" only got to #18 on the country charts, but it wasn't released to country radio (it overlapped with "My Wish").

Yeah that's what I thought...it's a shame that they had to break the decade long streak of top 10 hits. I wonder who's idea it was to release "Bob That Head" anyway?

That makes sense, I assume the tracks from that album that did well will be on their next GH someday? Most likely "Take Me There", "Winner at a Losing Game", "Every Day" and "Here" will be on the next Greatest Hits, which could be another 8 years down the road unless Lyric Street starts pulling the same stunt that Curb did with Timmy. And then everyone will see just how poorly RF's material has held up of late. (I haven't heard "Take Me There" in over a year. Not that I'm complaining.) Yeah that's what I thought...it's a shame that they had to break the decade long streak of top 10 hits. I wonder who's idea it was to release "Bob That Head" anyway? Actually, they only had eight years of Top Ten hits, dating back to "Prayin' for Daylight" in 2000. I'm guessing they wanted an up-tempo song for summer, and "Bob That Head" was their only option. And then once all the sex jokes started cropping up, they pulled it. My other theory is that Dann Huff and Lyric Street realize that the guys are supremely lacking in talent, and are intentionally butchering everything that has to do with them, just to get rid of them faster. (Hey, I can dream.)

Ten Pound Hammer, you seem not too much of a fan of Rascal Flatts, but you sure seem to know a lot. Maybe I'm missing something.

I have been a Flatts fan since the first album but the recent stuff just seems to be missing something. I don't mind the poppy stuff so much as everything they have done as of late puts Gary's voice way to far out of his range. The live performance of a band is a big deal to me and if those notes can't be hit live, it takes away from the band in my eyes. I don't understand why almost every song has to have a soaring high note somewhere in it when it's obvious that Gary can's hit them night in and night out. I think Gary is a great singer when he isn't trying to break windows and make dogs howl.

Of the two new songs, I really want Love Who You Love to be the next single.

I have been a Flatts fan since the first album but the recent stuff just seems to be missing something. A soul? A sense of just trying to make decent if safe music, instead of rehashing their biggest hit over and over? The live performance of a band is a big deal to me and if those notes can't be hit live, it takes away from the band in my eyes. *cough*Brad Paisley*cough* I don't understand why almost every song has to have a soaring high note somewhere in it when it's obvious that Gary can's hit them night in and night out. I think Gary is a great singer when he isn't trying to break windows and make dogs howl. I still get the feeling that they keep wanting to re-create "What Hurts the Most", which had a ton of minor chords, a screaming chorus, hyper-sterile Dann Huff production, etc. etc. I think the only reason that it's working on radio is because a.) it's "safe", and b.) they have name recognition out the yin-yang. I'm still waiting to see this giant topple. Sorry if I'm seeming to be a fountain of negativity, but I think they deserve it.

Brad Paisley dosen't have to strain on every song to hit notes that shouldn't be hit that are being done to over do every song. Rascal Flatts does. I just want a few songs that tone it down just a bit. OT: This discussion on a lot of threads about pitch correction on certain songs is crazy. 99.9999% of all artist use this on just about every song you hear. The fact is that most people go to show to have fun and could care less what the artist sounds like. I for one am not like that and I listen intently to the artist. I have seen Brad once and Rascal Flatts twice and they must have had great nights because they both sounded great. (The Rascal Flatts show was early, between the first two albums) Sure there were some bad notes but there are only a couple of artist I have seen that seemed not to miss (Martina 2x and Carrie). Back on topic. I have been liking this more and more. It seems that Gary dosen't go all out on this one like he has in the past with the screaming. I am looking foward to the album but I hope it is toned down just a bit.

Am I reading the Real Time Tracker right? They have this at No. 1. That means it would have to unseat George and steam roller over Jake Owen and Rodney by next week?

They sang this song with mostly just piano and guitar last night at the ACMs. I thought it sounded a little better this way, without the Wall of Sound production that Dann Huff gave it on the album. Never mind that Gary, Joe Don and Jay have no clue how to harmonize live.

That looks exactly like what will happen. It's still #1 on the Real Time Tracker on Wednesday. The AI of the top 6 is close enough that Lyric Street could push "Here Comes Goodbye" to #1 for next week, and it looks like they're doing just that. That will give RF a good PR opportunity, since their album will also debut at #1 on both the Country album chart and the Billboard 200.

Never mind that Gary, Joe Don and Jay have no clue how to harmonize live. I totally agree. It sounds so much better stripped down and mostly acoustic. Jay did a great job at the piano.

Hits DD numbers are 355K for Rascal Flatts. Not too shabby in this economy. Interesting boost of sales for Easter/ACM Awards. I can't believe Keith fell to 4th place already on the country chart. Really surprised at 107 K for Aldean. (Sorry I probably should have posted the rest of this somewhere else).

Aldean is one of the only artists who STRONGLY appeals to both men and women from what I've seen.

it's also pretty impressive how much it's still gaining on mediabase -- more than any other song short of kenny in the top 40
