The 3rd week of Speak Now's sales will the one which will be very interesting.
Will Speak Now be able to muster the same incredible sales consistency as Fearless?(11 weeks at #1,58 weeks in the BB200 Top 10)

Taylor will get fairly close, but I agree with slicknickshady, Recovery is gonna be the #1 album of 2010. Taylor will likely sell more in the long run though, but it really is hard to tell after two weeks if a record has legs or not.

Honestly though, all of her records have legs and not much has changed with her in the last 4 years. I think she will sell over 100,000 a week until after the holidays.

That's a solid drop right there for Taylor. I thought it would've been more like 70 percent. I suspect the 3rd week will be soft drop as well.

Aldean's stellar week proves that his recent wave of success has been no fluke, and he has probably successfully established himself almost as much as a touring artist than a singles one.
It's especially impressive considering Aldean's home is Broken Bow Records, an independent label. There haven't really been any other breakout commercial artists to come from this label to date, despite spawning some cult favorites and a #1 for Craig Morgan.
Aldean could have played it safe early on, conformed to the carbon-copy image Capitol Records asked him to and made it big on their terms, but Aldean chose to take the long way and forge a DIY ethic to get where he is today. That is something to be respected, regardless of your opinion of his music overall, and the amount of success he has managed to garner is extraordinary for an independent artist.

I am happy for Mariah! Doing over 50k for a Xmas album in November is pretty awesome. =)
How many weeks has Eminem been top 10 for? Like 22? what is the list of albums that spent the most weeks in the top 10? I wonder if he will be able to stay in the top 10 for the rest of the year? =)
congrats to my girl tay!! :)

Who even cares about which one gets the number 1 album of the year. Taylor's gonna be selling more in the long run, so....

Eminem will have the album of the year, even though Taylor will outsell him in the long run. It's just a matter of time really, she'll probably be where he is right now by the end of the year, and he'll probably move some units and end up higher. Honestly, I'd rather have the best selling album in the long run then have this stupid title. Especially when both of them have so many already, it's not like any of them need to prove themselves here.
also, who'll be the artist of the year? I'm thinking Taylor, since all of her cds just keep on selling.

Do you not remember what Su-Bo sold in her few weeks of 2009? No doubt. But the same applies to Eminem. Some of you act like Eminem won't get any benefit.

Last year Susan Boyle sold 500K/week for like 6 weeks. It is possible something similar could happen again
This push would apply to the hot holiday sellers. Eminem is at 35K or so a week, that might pop up a little bit but it is a much older album

It'll be interesting. Eminem or Taylor? Remember in 2005, Mariah barely surpassed 50 Cents just 1 week before the year 2005 is over to claim the best selling album of 2005. Just wait and see.

Yep. Boyle has that signed sealed and delivered.
Also, you don't hear me arguing that Recovery will sell more in the long run. I'm talking about this year. That's it. Basically imo Recovery will be at 150K more than Speak Now at the end of the year.

Another 40K for Weezy? He is holding up surprisingly well too with a single that isn't scorching CHR. His comeback appearances now that he's out of jail should keep that album selling into the holidays.

Congrats to Taylor on the massive debut, but like others have said, it will have a big drop the following week. It will still, however, be enough for a 2nd week at #1, I'm sure.
I don't think she'll last long at #1 for much longer after that. Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, and Susan Boyle all have enormous releases coming in the next few weeks, and I'm betting that those sales will overtake Swift's in the upcoming weeks.

She's actually looking at a 65% drop, which is no bigger than most #1's now a days, some drop 70%. Taylor will have 2 weeks at #1, get over taken by Boyle for a week or two, but I think she will go back to #1. And yep Em will "probably" sell more than Taylor this year. Congrats to him, he's great recovery was good. Taylor will beat him in the end though, so I guess it's a win-win! :)

Fantasia's sales have been remarkably consistent since the album was released on August 24.
When it debuted at #2, many here doubted that it would have any staying power because she's not a mainstream artist and that it was only going to sell for the first week or two due to her suicide attempt. At the time, I pointed out that Fantasia has a steady R&B fanbase that is quite loyal.
It's about to hit 300,000 copies, and the second single and video were just released officially. She's on tour now, so her sales should remain consistent throughout the holiday season. If she gets a good third single, I think that the album has a chance to go Gold by mid-2011.

SO HAPPY for Jason! With 54% he's at 171k And they predicted around 200k, I think he's going to sell a lot more than that.

Would be something if the projections for Aldean were THAT off.
The Hannah Montana soundtrack sales look like they're holding up alright. Any idea why Disney airs new episodes sporadically like it does?
