My guess is they got the predictions from the most popular retailers first this week. I hope i'm wrong about that but we'll see.

18/40 (nearly half) of the HITS album sales chart is country and this isn't even the post-CMA Awards week (next week), lol !

Eminem will have the album of the year, even though Taylor will outsell him in the long run. It's just a matter of time really, she'll probably be where he is right now by the end of the year, and he'll probably move some units and end up higher. Honestly, I'd rather have the best selling album in the long run then have this stupid title. Especially when both of them have so many already, it's not like any of them need to prove themselves here. also, who'll be the artist of the year? I'm thinking Taylor, since all of her cds just keep on selling. Taylor could easily catch him with the holiday season coming up.

We're still debating whether Eminem or Taylor will finish the year on top? How about saying that they'll probably be Nos. 1 and 2- in whatever order- and leave it at that. Does it really matter, anyhow?

End of 2005 mariah and 50 cent were battling for #1 and #2. Mariah snatch that monkey and was #1 with 6 million sold. Great memories. lol

Wonder who will sell the most holiday album this season: Mariah or Susan ? Unfortunately, Susan. Should be Mariah, though.

^Yah- maybe Jessica Simpson. Or Jackie Evancho. :0
Taylor Swift's holiday release is selling some even now.
SuBo's album undoubtedly will sell more than Mimi's.

Nice increase for Carrie....slowly but surely 2,000,000! Exciting! She is slowly etching her way toward 2 million for Play On... I hope the CMAs and holiday season can help her a lot And then I'm excited for a new CD from her after that!

The CMA Awards are gonna give all the Country albums a decent boost this week. Maybe Play On will top 10k in sales again this week.

Mariah's start seems all fanbase to me. I doubt this album will be a contender for the best selling Christmas album.
I hope Annie Lennox can take that trophy

Susan Boyle has sold only 30k in first two days in UK and should sell around 100k by the end week. Her debut album sold 400k+ and this one might not sell even 100k. So I don't think she'll be that big in USA either.

How do holiday albums sell in the UK, in comparison to the USA? SuBo also will do more U.S. promo than Euro promo for this release.

Non holiday albums have huge sales but holiday albums not so much. This holiday season should be interesting since Take That is releasing a new album next week and they're expected to have huge first week, maybe 500k. They sold 1.34 million tickets for their upcoming tour in less than one day thus becoming the biggest selling tour in UK history. Also, Pink, Rihanna, Mariah, Nelly, McFly, Shayne Ward are all releasing the same week. The week after that JLS and Westlife are releasing their new albums and they're expected to sell a lot. And the week after them Duffy is releasing her new album. And let's not forget about Michael Jackson. Upcoming weeks will be just crazy, I cannot wait to see the charts.
