Can't imagine anyone really thinks that Mimi's album will sell more than Susan Boyle's. Boyle's coming off of a 3.8 million-selling album, whereas Mimi's coming off of a 515,000-selling album. It's not difficult to predict which album will sell more, amount of promotion or not. Both ladies actually are doing decent promo (both will be performing at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting), though SuBo probably less overall. Plus, promo has varying degrees of impact on acts, anyhow.
I don't know if Groban's or Bocelli's albums will sell more than Mimi's this season, though.

Mariah's start seems all fanbase to me. I doubt this album will be a contender for the best selling Christmas album. I hope Annie Lennox can take that trophy Mariah won't Annie Lennox won't either But you can always hope until the reality kicks in

Josh Groban, for example had the #1 Christmas album 2 years in a row. Not sure he'll do it again but who knows.

How can anyone possibly think that Mariah's Christmas album will outsell Susan's? The best we can hope is that Mariah surpasses her Memoirs total before the end of the year.
The Jackie Evancho EP will also surely be a big seller. It's only priced at $7 and has been hovering at #1-#2 on Amazon for quite a while.

Boyle is the perfect artist for that kind of record, so she won't have any problem outselling everyone.

Yes, Susan Boyle should have the top Christmas abum this year, probably not enough to challenge Eminem & Taylor Swift but should easily beat all other Christmas titles this year

With sales looking to surpass 200K in its debut week, I can see Aldean's latest having a better than 50/50 shot at eclipsing "Wide Open" in total sales.
He'll effortlessly garner a Gold certification by the end of this year and he can go a long way toward a Platinum certification as well with the holiday shopping season buoying releases in general and his scheduled Country Music Awards performance with Kelly Clarkson.
These figures confirm that "Wide Open" was no fluke for Aldean, and that he is officially and successfully establishing himself as an A-list country artist. I think if he doesn't get a #1 off of the title track that he'll definitely get #1 hits off of "Don't You Wanna Stay", "Fly Over States" and "Just Passing Through".

Aldean didn't see much of an update with the final numbers, did he? Just 26K or so.
#s 3 and 4 are kinda close- wonder if they'll switch places with final SoundScan numbers. They may if HITS was off in estimating HSN numbers.

Her other three albums are INCREASING? SIGNIFICANTLY!?! This girl is amazing. im not surprised its extremely common for previous albums of an artist to get increases during the week a new album is released. the bigger the artist the bigger the degree of increases. and to the person who said mariah has orpah, susan had her too ;)

1. 19 20 JUSTIN BIEBER ISLAND/IDJMG 19,999 +4% MY WORLD 2.0
i guess one more person couldnt be bothered to buy it.
2. Good charloetts peaks 185, 7, 3, 7, 27 (ish). with no big single that was bound to happen
3. carrie back in the top 50, but sad to see fantasia leave
4. glee rocky horror is going to be there least selling album. they shoudlve just released the songs digitally like normal. i think the britney episode couldve had its own ep. it wouldve sold better than this. this only stays relevant during halloween. the xmas and volume 4 albums should sell much more

That puts Taylor at about 1.375 and Eminem at about 2.935. Difference of 1.56 million. With about 7 and a half weeks left, Taylor needs to beat Eminem by an average of 208,000 copies per week. I'm not really sure how Taylor will stabalize/drop/rise during the Holidays but it's definitely possible.
What will Eminem sell during the holiday weeks? Remain steady? 50k+? 75k?
Great jump for Mumford...I'd love some 30/35k+ weeks during the holidays!
Not looking so good for KOL. Avoiding purposely CHR music may have retained some credibility but they could definitely use a buzzy hit like SOF/US.

Ouch, I hope the Soundscan numbers are higher for Speak Now. 69% is still alright for a 1 million+ debut. Especially it's bound to stabalize with the CMAs, holiday season coming up. I think Lil' Wayne decreased more than 70% in his second week for Tha Carter III and that still went on to sell 3.5 million

But Mimi doesn't have to beat SuBo to be able to call her a project a success.

With "The Cave" climbing on Alt & AAA, I'm expecting them to reach at least 500k this year and KoL will stabilize after "Pyro" starts picking up...

Just assuming Eminem steadily sells about 35,000 each week (he'll see an uptick with the holiday shopping season) Taylor Swift would actually have to sell roughly at least a mean of 240,000 copies per week in order to eclipse Eminem. Eminem has #1 all but locked up for 2010 at this point, and I don't even think it's a given Swift's latest will eclipse "Recovery" in terms of overall sales necessarily. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus
