^Didn't say she was a bad singer- as an artist, though, not much there. Not that Daughtry's that great as an artist, either, but even she was shocked when he got the boot on Idol before her. And she's not the most engaging star out there. Hence, my understanding why she hasn't been that successful. Nothing to do with "smugness."

female who calls herself kanye west-this really is lmao. What is wrong with using autotune ln your records? Many people do it,including your beloved mr west. lol bro who is trying to be a dickhead, I'm not allowed to laugh at that? I thought it was funny seeing how it's clear she uses it. Live she isn't a great singer, even a large chunk of her fans say so.. so you can fall back now. and really you don't say? damn I didn't know Kanye West used auto tune.., god wow woah seeing how his whole 808s album is pretty much the basis of it. God you certainly schooled me so hard. Some people need auto tune more than others, but I am aware it's always used to a degree in the studio, I'm not dense. Nice try though. Well. You say that autotune is fine...so how was it funny in Taylors case that she uses it? Or you "lmao" every time the word autotune is mentioned?:) Drop the gangsta act, gurl. It is really bad.

Jesus. She didn't say there was anything wrong with using autotune. She was just laughing at someone saying Taylor "may" use autotune when she's famed for using it. It was funny. You need to calm down.

Why, because Katharine McPhee is such a great talent? No offense to those who enjoy her, but I can see why her music isn't exactly selling well. Taylor Swift has an incomparable fanbase right now, so of course she's going to be selling better than McPhee with her holiday release. What does Christmas music have to do with relating to fan bases? They're the same songs...it's not like Taylor wrote any of the classics. McPhee and other artists like Groban sing them much much better.

You need to calm down. I agree. It was a silly statement to begin with. Everybody uses some sort of digital voice improvement (or special effects) on the record...SuBo, Mariah-you name it. No need to throw shade at one artist here. Perfectly calm.

I think what he meant was that the artist with the larger fanbase is more likely to sell a holiday album well simply because she has a larger fanbase, and that's who's buying the album.

Can Someone please explain to me, what people see in susan Boyle that Makes people buy her albums, I can't see anthing good about her, is she ever gonna release her own stuff. As with all singers, there will be those who like her, and those who don't. If you don't, that's fine. I could see her releasing an album of original material someday. But she wouldn't be the first artist to release covers of other songs in her 'style'. 34 33 SELENA GOMEZ & THE SCENE: A YEAR WITHOUT RAIN - HOLLYWOOD 38,663 +23% Hollywood records need to release another single if they want to keep this album alive & Release more then 2 singles from their artist Most of that label's releases end up getting screwed over by lack of promotion and no clear cut strategy for the singles and stuff.

Kinda low sales for a few weeks before Christmas I think I can't believe people would rather by Taylor Swift's holiday album than someone like Katharine McPhee. It's a shame really... apparently sales were down 15 percent this week compared to last year. im curious how much precent we will be down after xmas sales die in janaury. next year i think its obvious we will reach a new weekly low, im hoping just around 4.5 million, but i think its possible for it to dip below 4 million, once or twice

34 33 SELENA GOMEZ & THE SCENE HOLLYWOOD 38,663 +23% A YEAR WITHOUT RAIN - Whoa where did this come from? I didn't know she was still selling so well without a hit. shes disney main girl right now. after the holidays it ll prbly die down tremedously unless they can pull another naturally That's if they even decide to try. They seem content enough with her incredibly consistant sales even before the holiday bump that maybe they'll just let it die down after X-mas. Selena did say a month or so ago that a new single was coming in the future, so hopefully that means they'll push whatever it is to radio, unlike "A Year Without Rain." Normally id say she wouldnt get a third single, but i think she will. Miley isnt doing an album anywhere in the near future. Demi is in rehab. The Jonas's cant really sell anymore. Jesse's last single underperformed, and hes not an album seller. Plain White T's dont have that much going for them now. Selena is there only moderatley big success right now, so i think they ll push her. Breaking Benjamin there only other bigish success is on hiatus right now

-- 42 DEADMAU5: 4X4=12 - ULTRA RECORDS 30,196 Fantastic numbers for a dj. Wow, I wonder if it was even available physically? For a compilation CD thrown together at the last minute because of leaks, that number is amazing.

Has McPhee's album made the BB200? I'm not being a troll but when does a label give up on an artist even if they are talented. I can't figure out how a label makes $ on any artist unless they sell X amount of music. I don't know what X is though. ;)

I don't know why people are shocked at Kanye's sales. I mean I love "Power" and "Runaway" is Solid but neither are hits at the radio. And while some people think critical acclaim helps sell albums i really don't believe that. A lot of great albums don't sell at all. I heard people during Recovery's first week that it sold a lot more than expected cause of word of mouth. I really don't believe that either. I just don't think word of mouth or critical acclaim really helps sales that much. A lot of acclaimed albums don't sell well. But MBDTF will probably sell 1.1-1.3 million by the end of 2011. That isnt shabby.
I don't think "All of the lights" will take off at radio like it seems a lot of people are expecting. So thats why i don't expect huge sales boosts because of that.

Kanye's album not selling will make it more of a classic album that was too genius for the general public to understand.

Kanye's album not selling will make it more of a classic album that was too genius for the general public to understand. I think it's a really good album. I don't agree with critics thinking it's one of the best albums ever. Kanye doesnt rap enough in it for my liking. The music is outstanding though. He is a genius producer even if he samples a little too often for my liking it's still great stuff. King Crimson sample in Power was Genius. But the point is that sales don't determine classics. Look at MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. LOL.

Word of mouth is proven to be a huge selling point for albums, movies, TV shows, etc. All forms of entertainment. If my friend tells me "hey, (insert artist) put out a really good album, you should check it out!" I would check it out. Reviews + word of mouth + etc. extremely help releases.
