Who knows? I just hope everything can more than double their sales for the final chart, because these number are sad.

Lady A's EP is $6.99 at Target.com; not sure if it was marked down last week (it wasn't featured in the Target circular).

It's a Target exclusive so I am sure it is sale-priced to get it off the shelves.
Can someone stop by a Target and look?

What they need is Tool to put something out more than once every 5 years.
They need Eminem to drop a new CD every year. Basically the industry will never get back to where it was and the sooner people accept that the better.

Basically the industry will never get back to where it was and the sooner people accept that the better. This. These sales are enough for Katy Perry to break the 1m mark. Of course she will end up selling better when 100% is reported, but she only needed like 3k.

Re: Taylor Swift's audience, www.wwd.com/media-news?module=tn#/article/media-news/fashion-memopad/the-ladys-a-winner-calvins-new-man-uptown-guy-3410644?full=true^^Those magazines have females in their 20+ and 30+ as their main audience. Also, IIRC, her Thanksgiving special did poorly in the adult demo, didn't it? This post isn't meant as a put down -- I just find it surprising since I'd think that her image has as much, if not more, to do with her music selling power as her music itself. So, is the stereotype of her base as mainly teen girls and their mothers true? Or is it because, despite all the high-profile relationships, they just don't find her personality interesting? Does one of the very things that make her such a strong music seller, her whitebread-ness, work against her here?

Or was it that there were something like one million magazines with her as their cover girl? I swear, there was a week around the time that her CD was released that I thought that a law had been passed requiring her to be on all magazine covers.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation about Lady A's Xmas album. Seemed very strange without knowing of the sale.

Or was it that there were something like one million magazines with her as their cover girl? I doubt that it'd have mattered if the interest had really been there. Those mags just cost a few bucks and I'd bet that her audience isn't exactly the hard-up for cash crowd. Over a million of them were willing to shell out for her CD in one week -- she isn't just an average seller, to say the least. And yet her covers were not even average sellers, they were the/among worst seller(s). She's on the current cover of Seventeen, isn't she? I wonder how it does.

She's won the Album of the Year at the Grammy's. That is certainly not teenage girls voting.

Let's not use the Shammys- er, Grammys- as an argument for anything, now. :) But, yeah, Swift's audience extends beyond teen girls.
So it looks like Lady A's holiday EP should reach a new Billboard 200 peak this week. As a target exclusive, though, isn't it odd that it will gain sales with the update to come?

I think the reason Taylor sells magazines bad, is her dull personality. TV interviews and magazine articles never seem to reveal nothing new about her. Much of it is something we had heard before from another article/interview. She is not going for the shock value like Gaga, too. So the general public just don´t find her interesting enough...
More props to her as an artist...it means people really love her music.

I don't understand why people use this against Taylor as if it's negative in some way. Songwriters typically write from their own experiences/relationships. Do you and others think songwriters like Sarah McLachlan and Jewel do not write songs centered on actual relationships they've had and men they've dated? The only difference between them is that some of the men Taylor's dated happen to be high profile entertainers. She's doing nothing different now than what she did years ago at the start of her career (writing about the people in her life, famous or not).

The difference between the partner being famous and an average joe makes a difference. It changes many things. I'm not saying it's necessarily negative, but it's just something. And not sure if you were responding directly to my post, but I wasn't trying to use it against her.

Yeah, I'm indifferent to Taylor Swift. I don't dislike her. Basically what about Taylor's life would be something that get's people to want to buy a magazine with her being the cover story? I mean do people care about where she was brought up? Did she come from the ghetto? Was she born into wealth? Did she go through any tragedies to triumphs? etc.

I`d love me a Taylor/Eminem duet, though. That "Stan" and "You´re Not Sorry" mashup i heard on youtube sounds incredible.

Eminem did have a cypher at some bet music awards show where he mentioned Taylor.
"Tell Miley I'm her knight and shining armor. Mail a gift to Taylor Swift's trailor a picture of my g**it*lia with a note saying s**t I can't wait to n**l ya"
Also Eminem said that Kanye shouldn't have did what he did to Taylor. But i don't think they will be doing duets anytime soon. It would sell no doubt about that though. haha. But then we would have the Taylor Swift and Eminem hooking up rumors. Eminem's grandma going to the media and saying Eminem and Swift should be an item like Em's grandma said about Rihanna. lol.
I know some people will say...They never thought Eminem would collab with pop stars like Pink or Rihanna. The thing is he has that connection to Rihanna from Jay Z. So that wasnt that surprising. Eminem has always respected Pink. So that wasnt a shock to me either. Stan was just a Dido sample that was used. So i don't really count that. Em and Dido got along and performed together a few times live though.

Just at how Eminem just popped into the discussion. Might as well....Eminem and P!nk were fairly similar in their regards to popstars so that collab made sense. Tbh, I think the only popstar he hates now is just Christina.

Well it was the cypher with Mos Def and Black Thought. It's on youtube. Also it was like a freestyle. He dissed Rihanna on Relapse and she still wanted to do a song with Eminem. But it wasnt that bad. Em just said he wanted to pee on her. But it's still a diss. I think that would be considered a diss. Peeing on someone.
Also, Eminem was 28 when MMLP came out. At the age of 38...it doesn't shock me he isn't dissing as much. I mean he squashed his beef with ICP and Everlast. Em and Royce Da 5''9 are tight again.
The Christina thing is probably squashed. My guess is they would just ignore each other.

Cage The Elephant is #1 on iTunes, not that they'll have a massive debut on the Billboard 200 or anything but with the recent low sales I wonder if they have a shot at #1

I think that will probably do maybe 35-40K. Def should be enough for a Top 3 Debut probably. But if 35-40K get's #1 then will more power to them.

The VMA's, SNL, the CMA's, Grammy's, etc.
