It's 2008-on that newly released hits compilations have really dropped in sales (well, all album types have continued to dip in sales). Garth Brook's Ultimate Hits was the last significant compilation seller in the USA. Worldwide, some compilations have performed OK since (i.e. Madonna's Celebration, at some 2 million+), but nothing like they used to.

Does Eminem have the best modern (I'm considering like 2000+) selling greatest hits package? Last I checked it was around 3.5 million It's actually as of last week at 3,255,714 Copies Sold. So not quite 3.5.

But the answer to the original question if "modern" is defined as 2000+ then it is the Beatles by far

Garth Brooks 2007 release is over 3 million as well. Not to mention the 2003 Elvis collection.
