Does Guetta have a clear first single? I feel like a bunch of songs are randomly doing well but I don't know if there is one in particular they are promoting.

Yes at Bey's prediction :) Now get on that Columbia. Huge bump for Adele, she's a beast. Nice bump for GaGa too :) And I hope Wayne get's a Milli! Nice week for album sales!

I find it amusing that an album will be near a million copies and there isn't massive discussion. Cuz he's not a diva.

Foster the People (Columbia) 27-30k Lady Gaga (Interscope) 24-27k
Great numbers! Their hits will keep these albums in top 20 for a while.

Where Them Girls At (with Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj). It reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart, but in the US so far it has peaked at #14 only. (That only trails Sexy Bitch's #5 and Club Can't Handle Me's #9 peaks).

Looks like Lil' Wayne is coming for 1m! Wow. I expected 700-750k but this is huge! Better than initial predictions for RHCP and WOW at Adele. Nice to see Beyonce & Gaga get bumps too. Also great for Foster The People! I knew he wasn't gonna stop till he gets to that milli. He's now too close not to pull whatever it is he can to get there. If he did, is he gonna be the first artist to pull to concecutive million-debut-sellers (I don't count I'm not a Human Being & Rebirth)?

I thought Wayne would be the first solo artist debut with 1M+ twice but I had forgotten that Em had done it twice too until I checked. Regardless though, it would still be impressive as Wayne would be only the fourth act to do it twice. I had a feeling he'd come close to grazing one million when I saw the initial numbers at 800-850k. Carter III, Taylor's Speak Now, and Gaga's BTW (to an extent) did the same thing, started with already high numbers and then just kept scaling upward in projections.

Well, some of the females that Pulse posters obsess are not "divas"- that word's become so commonplace to mean simply a female who records music. :)
Lil Wayne's album is doing gangbuster numbers- and it has not had a MASSIVE discount anywhere, has it? I think someone mentioned Amazon having a holiday sale or something, but that would impact all titles, I'd think. Plus, $3.99 has become a common discount for new releases at Amazon.

What odds '21' eventually going Diamond in the US? :o Crazy as it sounds, she may be near to 6 million sold by the end of December then the Grammys etc.

21's run reminds a lot of Jagged Little Pill's run, just when you think it's about to die down, something bumps it back up. Alanis spent 46 non-consecutive weeks in the top 3.. is that a record? (for the Soundscan era)
Also, this week's bump is from the VMA's, wouldn't be surprised if she drops way down next week.

^The album probably will return to pre-VMAs levels, or close it. SLY, though, is starting its potentially-big climb up the airplay charts.

^Diamond may be a bit much, but beyond 5m is looking very possible. Agreed, it doesn't seem likely in this sales climate, but if it cleans up at the Grammy's like Norah's "Come Away With Me" did, then you could be looking at endless catalog sales :) Looking forward to seeing how high 21 can go!

30-40k :'( :'(
Damn Weezy :o After the VMA's, he was getting clowned a lot for being outdone by Jay and Kanye but last laugh goes to him. Idk why I thought he lost some steam since the last TC3 because he's still all over radio and still loved...his hype just seemed different than that time period. Not as exciting.
But amazing for him, another million seller is going to put him in a whole nother league from the others and closer to Em.

I don't think one performance was better than the next. They both were just...ok. I don't think seeing two rappers on one stage would outshine one. But, yeah kudos to Weezy selling 2x as much as Jay and Kanye.

Lil Wayne Breaks iTunes' Single-Week Album Sales RecordLess than three weeks after the U.S. iTunes Store's single-week album sales record was broken by Jay-Z & Kanye West's "Watch the Throne," it's been smashed again -- by Lil Wayne's new "Tha Carter IV." "Carter" has sold over 300,000 downloads via iTunes in only its first four days of release, according to Cash Money/Universal Republic Records. That outpaces the 290,000 that "Throne" moved through iTunes in its entire first week. "Carter's" achievement is all the more impressive as it's available through all digital and physical retailers, not just iTunes. Comparatively, "Throne" was sold exclusively through iTunes for its first four days of release. Further, "Carter IV" is on its way to an overall first-week start of more than 850,000 copies -- digital and physical sales combined -- so say industry prognosticators. The tracking week ends on Sunday night, Sept. 4. We'll have the final, official Nielsen SoundScan weekly sales figures on Wednesday morning, Sept. 7. www.billboard.com/news/lil-wayne-breaks-itunes-single-week-album-1005338232.story#/news/lil-wayne-breaks-itunes-single-week-album-1005338232.story

I wonder what the iTunes sales would have been for Born This Way had Amazon not run that multi-day promotion. I imagine it would have had iTunes' biggest single-week sales.

"Little Bad Girl" went top 10 in the UK as well, next single perhaps? That single was released to RHY in the US and flopped. The second major US single is Without You, which features Usher

Re: D.Guetta, I was wondering if either the Sia or J.Hud songs were singles, good to know it's usher.
Re:Adele, what's the longest top 5 streak for an album? I could see her easily coasting through xmas up there.

I have a feeling Adele could easily be this year's "mom gift" cd like Susan Boyle was.
