BEYONCE - Party f/Kanye & Andre: 39.546 (+ 0.824)I think this will get to 50 mil AI. RIHANNA - You Da One: 38.012 (+ 2.045)So it's getting "normal" updates now. Doesn't look to be hurting WFL at all. DRAKE - Make Me Proud f/Nicki Minaj: 21.649 (+ 0.577)This mess of a single. Only 20 mil AI after how long....he should have released something else. Whatchu talkin' bout willis? Drake only has like 5 songs charting in the Top 50 of the R&B chart and 3 songs currently in the Top 11 of the R&B chart. You dont' think that when those songs start to fall this Urban stations won't pick up the slack? I think he'll be just fine with this as a release. Drake has so many songs charting constantly it's almost insane. 20 million is not bad at all considering he has several other tracks with like 70-80 another with like 30-40 million. If you add up all his current songs' radio airplay, you'll see he's got like 200+ million in audience. How many more times can they play his songs on the radio? Just because you don't like a song doesn't mean it's not a good choice for a single.

Return to form after just the one single, ya mean? ;) I don't know if it will be huge, but it may be another top 10 on the Hot 100. I mean a return to the type of music from The Fame/Fame Monster era. BTW/Judas/Y&I were all disappointing songs in my opinion. Edge of Glory I'll grant was quite good (and yes, was only one single ago). I'm personally a big fan of all of her singles, although Judas to a lesser extent than all of them. To me it just seems like a Bad Romance carbon copy that was too offensive to really take off. EOG was one of her best singles ever IMO, and if it had a big video and if it was sent for nominations at the Grammys I'm sure its impact would have been ten times bigger (and may have hit a better peak). Too bad, really.

Better peak than #3?
The video fits the song perfectly imo.

Better peak than #3? The video fits the song perfectly imo. I forgot it peaked at number 3. But actually, it was competing with PRA and other smashes at the time so I think it would have been really difficult to do #2 or #1 so never mind.

"The Edge of Glory" peaked at No. 3 in its first week, thanks to the opening sales. The highest it got to after dropping and then making its way back up was No. 6 (where it stubbornly stayed for five consecutive weeks).

Yea it had a decent visit into top ten. She has had two brilliant and year-defining songs during the era so anything Marry the Night does is only a plus.

The official add date for MTN for Top 40 radio is today.

Am I the only one that really liked Judas? I agree EOG is the strongest track from the album, but Judas was a fun dance track with relatively deep lyrics and an impressive music video.

I wanted to post something "special" for my 1000th post (yay, I'm officially Platinum) but no cigar, so I'll just say - Amen for Katy @#1 at some point. I also wanted to say that with the recent AI chart run of Rihanna's YDO, I was disappointed to find out all that monsterous airplay is coming from some deals, rather than radio really jumping on the song (I also found out that it occured with Born This Way & Deja Vu) :(

How can a track that's not even a year old be considered a classic? You may love it, but it's way too early to regard it as a classic. Plus, as fine as the message may be, "Born This Way" had all those "sounds like this/that" issue that it may mar its long-term appeal. Plus, note how quickly it descended down the charts, compared to other big hits.
musik, I kinda like "Judas"- the chorus did get into your head. I didn't care for the "ra ra" or whatever it was retread, but, otherwise, it was alright.

There's instant classics. I believe "Rolling in the Deep" fits that category.

It's already forgotten imo and I would even consider EOG more classic before that (the saxophonist sort of immortalized it in a way) but that's just me.

A "classic" is a song that has proven to stand up well over time. If time has not elapsed yet, it s not a "classic"

Those songs were previously unavailable...and in the case of Headlines it is still moving up at pop radio. Drake had never had a song debut in the Top 10 of the HOT 100 before MMP. I agree that the initial decision to release MMP probably had to do with the fact that Nicki is attached to the record. The song is instant. The numbers don't lie. If the song would've bombed on iTunes radio simply would've by passed it no harm done like they did with Up All Night. Instead radio chose to find a way to start spinning it even though Drake has a ton of product currently spinning at Urban & Rhythmic radio.

BTW is a popular catchphrase to the general public who use it for more than just gay/race issues.... As big as Gaga's other singles are, I think its safe to say that BTW is likely to be the most remembered of all Gaga's hits to date.

Looks like Glee's RHI/SLY mash up could go top of US iTunes today!! It's youtube/vevo viewing figures are absolutely insane and it only aired last night. Although Drake feat. Rihanna looks strong. kworb.net/pop/

Billboard.com:
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Rihanna's "We Found Love" (featuring Calvin Harris) holds at No. 1, though its down just a bit in sales: 227,000 (down 4%). LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" also is stationary at No. 2, shifting 195,000 (down 4%).
As expected, Taylor Swift collects the three highest debuts on the chart -- and two of them arrive in the top 10. "If This Was a Movie" (No. 3 with 162,000), "Ours" (No. 5 with 148,000) and "Superman" (No. 13 with 91,000) all launch within the top 20. The tunes were released digitally for the first time last week, and were only previously available on the deluxe CD of her "Speak Now" album at Target.
David Guetta's "Without You" (featuring Usher) charges 6-4 with 162,000 (up 32%), Adele's "Someone Like You" falls 3-6 (143,000; down 1%) and Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" drops 4-7, despite a gain, with 139,000 (up 5%). Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" rises 10-8 (130,000; up 34%), Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" (featuring Christina Aguilera) descends 7-9 (120,000; up less than 1%) and Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" moves 5-10 (117,000; down 5%).
Digital track sales this past week totaled 22.70 million downloads, up 9% compared to last week (20.89 million) and up 7% stacked next to the comparable week of 2010 (21.30 million). Year to date track sales are at 1.08 billion, up 10% compared to the same total at this point last year (978.15 million).
