I find it bizarre that now everyone seems to love BTW. I though the general consensus was that she got "too weird" and it was messy and incoherent and far, far below the quality of the first two cds. I love BTW too so I am happy to see it getting so much loving!!! I am almost ready to write my actual review too. I know everyone has been waiting for it ;) In fairness I'm one of the few(ish) people that has always had this opinion, it hasn't changed with the wind. Born This Way is really f*cking excellent. (Black Jesus + Amen Fashion though, ew.)

I always loved BTW as well. Still listen to it quite often. I will probably get slaughtered for saying this, but I think it was ahead of its time.

I'm a little disappointed with the new album. I agree that the sound on the album sounds cluttered.

Billboard says MANiCURE is an obvious single choice...what? I would actually love to see it as a fifth single after G.U.Y and Gypsy, it's such a fun song. Yeah I've been thinking if they do go 5 singles deep she should probably go with Manicure 5th. At first I thought Sex Dreams if it was 5 singles, but coming right after GUY it may be overkill. I always did say Manicure reminded me a bit of Just Dance. Still think the iTunes Festival version was catchier though.

I don't get the love for Sex Dreams. It's nice, but not strong enough to be a single imo. DWYW was a great single choice and " G.U.Y." NEEDS to be a single. The chorus on " Venus" is catchy as f**k and " Aura" could do well if the intro was edited out. Those, plus "Artpop" and "Swine", are my top 6. We have almost the identical opinion. Only change is I would swap out Swine for Jewels N Drugs. I don't think it should EVER be a single, but, like DWYW, I appreciate the R&B tinge to Gaga's vocals on it, and obviously a little crunk never hurt nobody.

Apparently she's going to be the first artist to sing in space in 2015.

I am actually not in love with this album...at all. I don't hate it, but I personally find it mediocre at best. I think she released the two best songs first (Applause, DWUW). The only other song that I think has a strong shot at POP radio is "Gypsy." The rest to me are deep album tracks or maybe made for the clubs, but not really the pop masses. We can say that Gaga does what she wants and she doesn't have to please anyone, which is true...but the reality is, she has openly courted and basically relished mainstream pop stardom all along, so this feels like a very big left turn. This feels like someone who has developed a huge ego and thinks that everything she does is some deep and groundbreaking art installation. If she is going to keep making all these big pronouncements about her work and how it is the album of the year, a huge work of art, etc...then she is going to end up under the microscope if the masses don't think it lives up to the expectations that she sets.
It is a shame because I actually LOVED "The Fame Monster" and most of "Born this Way."

Apparently she's going to be the first artist to sing in space in 2015. Rocket #9, take off to the planet PENIS! VENUS! I read somewhere in here that a poster said "BTW" is Gaga's best album. I would agree 100% had she not included at least 3 songs on the second half of the album. The first 8 songs were damn near flawless. It was shortly after 'Black Jesus' that the album went downhill.

I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I was wondering, is "Swine" about Perez Hilton?

I'm quite shocked at all this "BTW is her best album" talk.. I remember quite a bit of negativity surrounding the album when it came out.

Currently holds a 76 at metacritic, although only three reviews are in. TFM still stands as her highest rated, at 78. I think there's a good chance she can at least tie that.

After letting this album sink in for a few days, I think I might actually say that it's my favorite from her. The vocals sealed the deal for me.

I've read a couple reviews that said that this album is the end of her career because it's trash, over-the-top, ridiculous, etc. It's one thing to not like the music itself and a whole other to be ignorant of the amount of thought and creativity that's been put into this whole campaign and its representation. Not to mention that her fans are amongst the most loyal stanbases around and them alone could ensure her a gold album and a successful tour without a single hit coming out of her future albums. Not that any of that will happen -she'll be fine and the album has at least another 2 surefire hits- but I just hate to see the haters being so passionate bringing her down.

More mellow? lol. I absolutely disagree. As a whole, yes. The production style on Born This Way was very aggressive in contrast to the majority of ARTPOP. The only moments on ARTPOP that have such an aggressive production style are Aura, G.U.Y., Swine and Mary Jane Holland compared to about 3/4 of Born This Way.

Just heard Americano on a commercial for a new ABC show called "Killer Woman". That song is perfect for ad placements in trailers/tv spots/etc.

Has anyone noticed that before the spoken word parts towards the end of Sexxx Dreams that Gaga sounds very Stevie Nicks-ish?

I wouldn't expect it to be higher than TFM but higher than the Fame at least.

Can we just take a moment and marvel at these f**king vocals. Aside from Dope this is definitely her best album vocal performance wise. DWUW and Gypsy are simply immaculate in vocal execution.

I totally agree, BTW had its strengths, but this is a complete and utter vocal slamjam. This album is unreal.
