She is shooting a new video @ Hearst Castle. Whatever/wherever that is lol That rules out 'Venus' then, I guess. Also means we're getting a third (or new) single. Anyway, totally off topic but it just hit me how good 'Applause' is. I've always enjoyed it, but it's just a really good song generally speaking. Reminds me a lot of what she was doing on her debut, the highlights of which might have aged better for me than her material on The Fame Monster. I respect her artistry and desire to do as much as she can, but sometimes I wish she'd realize that her strengths lie in keeping it simple. |

If the rumors about the video release for 'Do What U Want' getting pulled because of controversial imagery are true, then I'm not expecting them to do 'G.U.Y.' (which, incidentally, has a terribly high burn rate) any justice whatsoever.
But how dope would 'Swine' be as a single? The visual possibilities are literally endless with that one.

The imagery of the photos from the video setting seem more in tune with Venus.
I think they should send whatever it is to radio immediately.

Applause leaked 6 months ago and there's still no 3rd single in sight? I believe 6 months after Born This Way we were already at single #4... I guess I was not far off back in early November when I said this album has no real singles outside Applause and DWYW. Who woulda thought 4 years ago her career would collapse like this?

I guess many artists would love to see their careers collapse with two top ten hits and two top 20 hot 100 hits, including one with lots of longevity. I understand that she is not at a good place now, but saying the project's collapsed is not true. The situation is not like Kelly's Sober, Beyonce's Ring the alarm, Pink's first Who Knew, Britney's Piece of me. I like those video settings! Seem fun :) Gaga, just go back to having fun and caring less about doing the next big revolution in pop music. The less you think about grandiose objectives, the more likely you're gonna reach them more easily. |

We don't even know if that is her shooting a video though. The ARTRAVE is coming up, and it could be for that.
Regardless, I am also glad that we have an actual setting for whatever this is. The black and white backdrops are getting stale.

That scenery looks great. I'm honestly not focusing on the singles as that's out of my control, but I am excited for the New York shows next month and the tour. Three more months until I attend the opening night show!

The pool scenery is beautiful and so is the castle- wow! If it's indeed for a third single video shoot, then it's definitely not "Gypsy" because that song does not fit those aesthetics. I'm feeling "G.U.Y." especially because of the rumors and as a reach "Sexxx Dreams".

Oh my god, this location is everything. I too was hoping for "Gypsy" (and still think it's the safest bet for her to get a hit), but releasing "G.U.Y" would be so exciting. It was easily my favorite song from the first time I heard Artpop, so this would be great. Also, it's not like "Gypsy" is going anywhere, it could still be a nice safe hit for single #4.
ETA: And YES to this not being "Venus." Never understood why anyone thought that was single-material.

I just get the feeling that it isn't for any song we've already heard, but I'm probably wrong in feeling that way. Right now, before the tour starts, seems like the ideal time to do a re-release of the album and promote a brand new single. I don't think either "G.U.Y." or "Venus" will renew enough interest in the era. It's a long shot, but she mentioned having a song called "Temple" a while back. The location of the music video would be perfect for a song of that title. |

I was thinking that, too, but in essence, they could be classified as music videos, too, if set to a song. :) And she was involved in choreography/a dance segment in that one pic.

At the bottom of the article it says "NOTE: It is not 100% confirmed that G.U.Y. is the next single". So it's probably just speculation... |
