On the flip side, performing a track that isn't even a single at this point could provide a temporary sales boost, but then what? Is this the audience she should be seeking? I'm always intrigued as to who is watching and then buying. Not sure if Jimmy Fallon is the audience for her.

I actually really liked that, I wouldn't mind if it was her next single. It's always been one of my favorites on the album.

Boring performance. It wasn't bad, just boring lol. She looked great though. Love the hair lately.

At this point, she'd be aiming to reach outside her target audience if the goal is record sales. Appealing to me is pointless as I already own her album on digital, cd and vinyl.

I enjoyed seeing her again and thought the performance was fine.

DJWS is tweeting for people to calm down because things aren't always what they seem (I am assuming people thinking Artpop is the new single because she performed it?). Like, what do they expect? Does any artist in the middle of a cd campaign go single-less for this long and then use up major performance slots on non-singles before dropping a completely different song as a single? Like, no shit sherlock people are going to assume that is the new single.
It was a nice performance. She has a great voice. It will do pretty much nothing for her or the cd though.

wtf is she doing? Honestly.
The album's grown on me a lot. I kind of let it fester in my library for a while and it keeps coming up on my "recently added" playlist since I have it set to keep songs up to 6 months old or something in there. 'Sexxx Dreams' and 'Manicure' are awesome.

Artpop kinda reminds me of I Love You Like a Love Song. It actually doesn't sound too bad as a single, but I think the chorus is a bit weak for radio.

Very solid performance, I liked the ending. she's very talented and does great work on the piano, but I tend to like her more away from it.

It's really just the melody when Gaga sings "come to me" that reminds me of LYLALS, specifically where Selena sings "constantly." Other than that, they're not very similar.

No, I hear it. That sort of "bounce" the way she sings the chorus is similar stylistically to 'I Love You Like a Lovesong', but sonically they aren't too similar.

I thought the performance was good. It was fun. Not too crazy. Great vocals. I loved the hair and outfit.

Artpop kinda reminds me of I Love You Like a Love Song. Haha, I've thought this since she first performed it during the album sneak peek. When the song starts, sometimes I accidentally start singing "it's been said and done...". Figured it was just me though.

...but why did she perform "Artpop" of all songs? What the hell? Either the bitch is crazy and really doesn't care anymore OR they are revving up to release a brand new single, and tonight's performance was just a placeholder until they're ready to unveil the new track. Hopefully the latter.

I'm glad she's happy, but seriously... What are they doing? I won't even list the things they didn't do in the last 6 months, it's a damn long list. It's like she wants to sabotage herself constantly. Performance

I thought the performance was good and she was in great voice...but I really didn't see any point to it, other that to remind people "Hey, I released an album about 4 months ago that most of you forgot about." She could have taken it as an opportunity to officially launch her new single...that way Jimmy could have introduced her as "here to perform here new song XX, is Lady Gaga."
Plus, she was tacked onto the very end of the show where she sang her song and then Jimmy pretty much closed out the show.
Oh Stefani..girl what are you doing?

It's actually 08/12/13 - 12/something/14, but why are you so dramatic.

So it looks like this performance was about plugging the tour and vinyl release, hence why she performed the title track. This would also make sense if Interscope hasn't chosen an official third single yet, but I'm not sure "ARTPOP" is the song that will motivate people to buy the album or spur ticket sales.
I think what's made this era so frustrating is a lack of communication. Gaga's always been super connected to fans through social media, and an artist of her caliber should have a team that keeps fans informed of what's next. That's why scrapping the DWUW video (after promises that it was coming) was so disappointing, especially since Gaga's videos have always been a major part of her brand. I'm not blaming her as I don't fully understand what's going on behind the scenes, but it's a bit odd when a typically vocal artist is suddenly silent about a project she was initially so passionate about.
On a side note, she really is an underrated vocalist. She's got a rich, versatile instrument and it's so refreshing when artists sound even better live than in studio.

I agree, to me ARTPOP as an era, is over. I don't anticipate any more singles.

I know she has a great voice and she's very talented, but I got only mid way of the performance. It really bored me.

You're totally on point. Thinking about it I'm not even sure she did bad with shutting her mouth, but yeah the total blackout is disturbing. On a side note, she really is an underrated vocalist. I agree that this era was executed very poorly. She had a lot of great concepts that could have been really successful, such as the ARTPOP App. Now, I don't think anyone cares about it (including myself).
