It's crazy to think that Art Pop still hasn't outsold the first week of Born This Way lol.
In my opinion, The Fame Monster leading into Born This Way was her peak and then it was all downhill from there.

I actually (shockingly) like her Oscars look-  I have disliked a lot of her red carpet looks lately, but this has the right amount of being different/Gaga and being classy. Plus, she was owning that red carpet. |

Yeah, it's looking like the Artpop era might be coming to a close. Any single released from this album at this point would have to fight an uphill battle. I don't think a part 2 is ideal. She should take a short break, record some top quality mainstream singles, and come back with a new image and project later this year.

I wish that's something her team is aware of before she considers recording any Lovegames. Disagree. Nothing on this album beyond the two singles held up to her previous albums. Sure, some songs weren't bad--Manicure, GUY, Venus, Gypsy--but even those aren't memorable and the final product was incoherent and shockingly voiceless. For someone that had come out with three great albums in a row, the music itself was easily the biggest disappointment for me this era, and I think people are grossly overestimating how much all the other shit mattered in terms of how badly this era flopped. |

Next month??!!  Dbhmr: the era hasn't really been a major flop though. Applause was a hit however you see it. DWUW, for not having a video and being in the middle of a messy campaign managed to reach top 10 pop and top 15 hot 100. Even Dope managed to reach #1 on streaming from a single performance. I think this era confirmed that Gaga is a multimedia artist so if she's not in top form in terms of videos (lyrics and normal) and promo, she's struggling. Plus of course her persona is still polarizing. I think ArtPop is a good album. I actually find it more accessible than btw (which I loved, and think has individual songs that are better than ArtPop's) and that's something she needed. The simplicity of Gipsy, ArtPop, GUY and even Fashion (yup) work in its favor, and still showcase Gaga's voice. Gaga looked gorgeous last night!! Hope ArtPop's relaunched properly with something additional. New stuff for the app (which only says that something's coming in 119 days ), maybe new mixes or iTunes extra tracks, whatever. There's good material in ArtPop that could have at least moderate success. |

Supposedly she's gonna do promo and stuff and really push the song though...I can't think of a time I ever saw a strategy like this, trying to fully relaunch an album era three singles in. I mean, P!nk's "I'm Not Dead" era accidentally got relaunched when U+UH blew up, but it's not like she/her team pushed it hard with that intention. |

BDay? Native? Global warming? I don't see any evidence of those eras relaunching. The singles came out in a normal release schedule, and the third singles happened to take off with normal promo. I don't think any of those examples really compare to what Gaga is attempting to do with ARTPOP. |
