"Rather Be" remains at number one for a fourth week, meaning this it has now become the longest running number one of the 2014 chart year! It is also the longest running number one hit since Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" wrecked the top spot for a record setting ten weeks from October 6, 2013 through December 1, 2013. "Rather Be" holds off KONGOS' "Come with Me Now," which climbs up one spot to a new peak of number two! Lily Allen's "Air Balloon" slips to number three. Shakira remains at number four with "Empire." Rounding out the top five is SoMo's "Oh, Hell," which climbs to a new peak of number five from nine last week. It bumps out Rascal Flatts' "Rewind" from the top five. It slips to number ten after spending four weeks at the number five spot. Below the top five, Beyoncé rockets up to number six with "Partition" in only its third week on the chart! "Partition" gains 4.45 points, earning the title of Biggest Increase of the Week. The song outpeaks "Drunk in Love"'s number seven peak, becoming Beyoncé's highest charting hit since the chart's inception in January 2012. Lorde's "Glory and Gore" follows up "Partition" at number seven. It slips from number six last week. At number eight, Taylor Swift zzoms up five spots to re-enter the top ten with "All Too Well." It also earns a new peak as it spent only week inside the top ten earlier at number ten. Below Taylor, Nico & Vinz rocket up from 18 to nine with "Am I Wrong." This is the duo's first top ten entry on the chart. As previously noted, Rascal Flatts round out the top ten. The two new entries and one re-entry kick out Karmin's "I Want It All," Katy Perry's "Birthday," and HAIM's "The Wire" from the top ten. That's two former number one smashes and Katy Perry's most recent single, which even though it falls out of the top ten, it gains in points. "Birthday" is highly likely to return to the top ten as soon as next week. The songs fall to 11, 12, and 23 respectively. Below the top ten, MKTO climb back up to 13 with "Classic," two spots below its original peak of 11. Zendaya's "My Baby" also climbs back up a spot to number 14. The song originally peaked at number nine a few weeks ago. SoMo also climbs again to number 15 with "Kings & Queens (Throw It Up)," which is only one spot away from its original peak of 14. At number 16, HAIM enter the top 20 with their second charting hit, "Forever." Avicii climbs to a new peak just below them with "Hey Brother" at 17. Idina Menzel falls seven spots to 18 with "Let It Go," though it does gain a few points. Mike Will Made-It and gang re-enter the top 20 at a new peak of 19 with "23." Finishing out the top 20 is The Band Perry with "Chainsaw," which falls six spots from its peak of 14 last week. The one new entry and one re-entry kick out only "Drunk in Love" from the top 20. (The other is "The Wire.") "Drunk in Love" falls to 21. Below the top 20, Tech N9ne and gang jump to a new peak of 25 with "Fragile." Other songs earning new peaks this week include "Pulses" at 27 and "Keep It to Yourself" at 29. Lee DeWyze's "Blackbird Song" remains at its peak of 30. Britney Spears and T.I. also regain spots with "Tik Tik Boom" as it climbs back up to 28 from 33. Its original peak is six. The big story this week is all of the debuts! Five songs make their way onto the hectic chart this week. Coming in at a massive 25 is Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's "Problem." This is Ariana's second chart entry after "The Way" peaked at number 13 back on August 4, 2013. This is Iggy Azalea's first chart entry. Debuting at 31 is Sia's "Chandelier." This is Sia's first charting hit as an artist, though she has charted before with song writing credits. It is important to note that this song debuts in the same week it was added. Not many songs can achieve this feat unless they're from an artist that I really, really love. Sia is not one of those artists, but "Chandelier" is such an amazing song. Debuting at 35 is "Shatter Me" by violinist Lindsey Stirling. The song features vocals from Halestorm's Lzzy Hale. This is both artists' first chart entry, though Hale almost debuted last summer with "I Miss the Misery," a song from Halestorm. Debuting at 36 is Christina Perri's "Human." This is Christina's first chart entry, and even taking into account that she started her career before I started my personal chart, this would still be her first chart entry. The final debut at 38 is another Christina. Christina Grimmie debuts with "Feelin' Good," the second official single from her debut With Love album, released independently. The Voice finalist peaked at 16 with lead single, "Tell My Mama" and peaked at 11 with "I Bet You Don't Curse God," an album track that I decided to treat as a single because it's just that good. The five debuts kick out the following: Bastille's "Pompeii," Demi Lovato's "Let It Go," Karmin's "Drifter," Ke$ha's "Dirty Love," and Disclosure's "Latch." ROYALS WATCH: Well, nick64, the answer was no. "Royals" remains on the chart for a 44th record setting week! "Royals" officially broke the record for longest stay on the chart, a record previously held by Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break." "Royals" slips only one position and gains points. Wow! It refuses to die. Don't worry, though, Demi Lovato fans, "Give Your Heart a Break" still holds the record for longest stay on the chart for a song that didn't peak at number one. Maybe it is very Billboard like of me to create that "record," but it seems big enough of a difference between the two records to make that official distinguishment. How long will "Royals" remain on the chart? It's unclear to me, but the song is now only eight weeks away from the coveted year-long chart sitter. "Rather Be" snatches up a fifth week at number one, furthering its stretch as the longest running number one of the year. It also becomes only the eighth number one hit to stay on top for at least five weeks. Right below it, Shakira's "Empire" zooms up to a new peak of number two, pushing KONGOS' "Come with Me Now" back down to number three, although it gains in points. Lily Allen is pushed down to four with "Air Balloon." To round out the top five, SoMo is out and Lorde is in. "Glory and Gore" jumps two spot to a new peak of number five, earning Lorde her third top five hit after "Royals" and "Team." Below the top five, Beyoncé remains at number six with "Partition" after it shot up to that position from 17 last week. SoMo's "Oh, Hell" falls down to seven after Lorde pushes it out this week. At number eight, HAIM rocket up eight spots to break into the top ten with "Forever." This is HAIM's second top ten hit following the two week number one hit, "The Wire" seven weeks ago. Katy Perry re-enters the top ten at number nine with "Birthday." It originally peaked at number eight two weeks ago. Nico & Vinz slip a spot to number ten with "Am I Wrong" after it jumped into the top ten at number nine last week. Katy and HAIM kick out Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts from the top ten. They fall to 12 and 19 respectively. Below the top ten, The Band Perry resurge to a new peak of number 11 from 20 last week with "Chainsaw." This becomes The Band Perry's highest peaking hit on the chart after "Done." peaked at 12 last summer. Though, the country trio would have likely had a strong number one hit with "If I Die Young" had the chart existed back then. Moving up to a new peak at 13 is SoMo with "Kings & Queens (Throw It Up)." Beyoncé and JAY Z make yet another random resurgance to number 14 with "Drunk in Love" after it dipped to 21 last week. The song has peaked at number seven and for the past few weeks, it has dipped up and down in crazy spurts. At number 15, Sia skyrockets from 31 in her second week with "Chandelier." Sia earns the Biggest Increase of the Week by gaining 3.1 points. Right below that, Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea zoom to 16 from 25 in their second week with "Problem." Avicii remains at 17 with "Hey Brother" as MKTO fall to 18 with "Classic." Rounding out the top 20 is Mike Will Made-It and gang with "23," slipping from its peak of 19 last week. Ariana, Sia, and Beyoncé kick out Karmin ("I Want It All"), Zendaya, and Idina Menzel from the top 20. They fall to 23, 27, and 30 respectively. "Let It Go" is the Biggest Decrease of the Week, losing 2.85 points. Below the top 20, songs earning new peaks include Tove Lo's "Stay High (Habits Remix)" at 21, Tech N9ne's "Fragile" at 22, Lindsey Stirling's "Shatter Me" at 24, Karmin's "Pulses" at 25, Kacey Musgraves' "Keep It to Yourself" at 26, Lee DeWyze's "Blackbird Song" at 28, Christina Perri's "Human" at 33, Christina Grimmie's "Feelin' Good" at 34, and Shakira's "Medicine" at 35. The chart also sees two debuts and a re-entry. Debuting at 32 is Jason Derülo and Snoop Dogg's "Wiggle." This is both artists' first chart entry, but both would have likely had multiple hits had my chart existed prior to its original start date of January 2012. Deubting at 39 is Paramore's "Ain't It Fun," the third US single from the band's self-titled album and fourth single overall. It follows their three week number one hit "Still Into You," which topped the chart last summer and landed at #3 on the Summer 2013 top 20. Paramore would have also had multiple hits prior to the chart's start date. Re-entering the chart at 37 is Lorde's "Tennis Court" as the song gets an official push as a single in the US. It originally peaked at number seven on my chart with Pure Heroine's release. It was an international single prior to "Royals." Speaking of "Royals," let's get to what these songs kick out of the chart. Well, it's not "Royals"! Instead, "Dark Horse," "Neon Lights," and "I Bet You Don't Curse God" are kicked out. ROYALS WATCH: "Royals" lives to fight another week! It lands at number 38, slipping only one spot this week. Its chart total is now up to 45 weeks, giving it a two weeks lead on its record for longest chart sitter. The song is now only seven weeks from being on the chart for a full year! This also means that this week is the start of the tracking period for Summer 2014. Which song do you think will get the coveted title of Song of the Summer this year? Last year the winner was Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop." There are plenty of entries already climbing their way up the chart: "Chandelier," "Ain't It Fun," "Problem," "Forever," "Birthday," "Wiggle," "Tennis Court," "Shatter Me," "Partition," and "Love Never Felt So Good" are already gaining some great ground for the summer's list. Will it be one of those or will it be something else yet to be released? ("We Can't Stop" had not yet been released at this point, for example.)

This week marks its sixth week on top, and it also marks its strongest week on top. 26.85 points in a strong number of points for number one. The last time a number one song had 26 points was Pitbull and Ke$ha's "Timber," which had 26.10 points on February 2nd of this year. The last time a song peaked at number one with higher points than "Rather Be" was Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" on November 10, 2013. (FYI, that was "Wrecking Ball"'s sixth week on top as well. It went on to top for 10 weeks. Can "Rather Be" pull that off?) Below "Rather Be," KONGOS' "Come with Me Now" climb back up to number two as Beyoncé smashes her way up from six to three with "Partition." Both songs push Shakira's "Empire" back down to number four. Lorde remains at number five with "Glory and Gore." "Partition" kicks out Lily Allen's "Air Ballon" from the top five. Below the top five, "Air Balloon" sits at number six. Nico & Vinz climb three spots to a new peak of seven with "Am I Wrong." Katy Perry also moves back up to number eight with "Birthday," where it landed three weeks ago. The remaining portion of the top ten is brand new! Coming in at number nine is Sia with "Chandelier." The song shoots up from number 15 in only its third week. Close behind following in the same footsteps at number ten is Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's "Problem." It shoots up from 16 last week and it too is only in its third week. The two songs kick out SoMo's "Oh, Hell" and HAIM's "Forever" from the top ten. Below the top ten, "Forever" sits at number 11. SoMo holds the number 12 and 13 positions. At 12 is "Kings & Queens (Throw It Up)," which is a new peak from 13 last week. "Oh, Hell" sits at 13. MKTO climb back up four spots to 14 with "Classic" after slipping to 18 last week. Its original peak is 11. Speaking of slipping, The Band Perry slipped from 14 to 20 with "Chainsaw" two weeks ago and shot up to its peak of 11. This week, it slips back down to 20. The 11-20 range is extremely competitive right now, though. Speaking of that, four songs enter the top 20 this week! At 15 Karmin rockets up from 25 last week with "Pulses." Below them at 16, Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale rocket up from 24 with "Shatter Me." At 18, Tech N9ne and gang enter from 22 with "Fragile." Finally, at 19, Tove Love and Hippie Sabotage enter from 21 with "Stay High (Habits Remix)." Funnily enough, Avicii remains at 17 for a third week with "Hey Brother," its current peak, amidst all of the movement. The four new entries kick out "All Too Well," "Drunk in Love," "Rewind," and "23," which all fall to 23, 24, 28, and 29 respectively. Below the top 20, songs earning new peaks include Kacey Musgraves' "Keep It to Yourself" at 21, Jason Derülo and Snoop Dogg's "Wiggle" at 22, Paramore's "Ain't It Fun" at 25, Shakira and Blake Shelton's "Medicine" at 26, Christine Grimmie's "Feelin' Good" at 27, and Christina Perri's "Human" at 30. The re-entry of Lorde's "Tennis Court" also moves up three spots to 34. The chart also sees two debuts and yet another re-entry. Debuting at 33 is Lily Allen's "Sheezus," the fourth single from her same titled third album. It follows the album's first two singles, "Hard Out Here" and "Air Balloon," which peaked at 12 and 2 respectively. "Air Balloon" is still charting. Debuting at 38 is X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons with "Jungle." It is both artists' first charting hit. (It's also free on iTunes this week, so I encourage you all to check it out! It's also being used in promos for the upcoming season Orange is the New Black.) Re-entering at 39 is Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd's "Really Don't Care" as it becomes the fourth single from Demi. Oddly enough, the song debuted exactly one year ago when the album first came out. It peaked at 32 before it fell off. Speaking of falling off, the three newbies kick out "Tik Tik Boom" and "John Doe." They also kick out... ROYALS WATCH: RIP - "Royals" is out. 45 marvelous weeks spent inside the top 40, a record, and Lorde's five week number one smash finally leaves the chart. It doesn't go out without a fight, though. This week, "Royals" made it to 16x platinum, tieing it with Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" for the HIGHEST CERTIFIED SONG EVER. Ladies and gentlemen, please, a moment of silence for "Royals." Drop Out Runs: Britney Spears - Tik Tik Boom (feat. First of all nice to see Partition in your top 3. Secondly, I like the table but the blue doesn't work well imo. I could barely read the titles; I'm thinking that maybe green would work better for your bulleted songs?

Yeah, it's a bit bright. I might suggest colouring the chart position number instead of the whole line.

It looks nice overall, but the blue and red colors practically killed my eyes. I suggest you to find pale colors, it's just too bright.

In the right light the blue doesn't bother me. But when I'm in a semi-dark room staring at my computer screen, it blinds me.
Awesome #1! I also love how "Pulses" and "Wiggle" are rising.

"Rather Be" continues to be the quiet surprise smash! It snags a seventh week at number one, now the fourth longest running number one of all time and only three weeks away from tieing Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" for longest running number one ever. The song also increases in points this week, now up to 27.75 points, which is the highest for any number one hit. Ever. (Well, since I started the 3mth/1mth/1wk formula in October 2012.) However, something is coming up fast behind. Sia's "Chandelier" leaps bounds at jumps to number two from number nine last week in only its fourth week on the chart. It also earns the Biggest Increase of the Week title by gaining 3.8 points. It actually ties in points with Beyoncé's "Partition," which sits at three for a second week. Shakria also remains in place at number four with "Empire" and Lorde stay stationary at five with "Glory and Gore." The addition of "Chandelier" into the top five knocks out KONGOS' "Come with Me Now" out of the top five. It falls from two to six this week. Below the top five, HAIM re-enters the top ten at number seven with "Forever," which is a brand new peak for the song. Katy Perry remains at number eight with "Birthday," which is the song's third week at number eight. Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea also remain at number ten with "Problem." Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale jump from 16 to number nine with "Shatter Me," the first top ten entry for both artists. The re-entry and new entry to the top ten kicks out Lily Allen's "Air Balloon" and Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong." They fall to 11 and 13 respectively. Below the top ten, SoMo remains at 12 with "Kings & Queens" while he slips to 16 with "Oh, Hell." Tove Lo and Hippie Sabotage move up to a new peak of 15 from 19 last week with "Stay High (Habits Remix)." Tech N9ne and gang also move up a spot to 17 with "Fragile." Karmin's "Pulses" and MKTO's "Classic" both fall to 19 and 20 respectively. At 18 is The Band Perry with "Chainsaw," up two spots, but seven spots from its original peak of 11. The top 20 also sees a new entry at 14 from Paramore with "Ain't It Fun." This is "Fun"'s third week on the chart as its continues to smash in gains. Paramore kicks out Avicii from the top 20. "Hey Brother" slips to 23. Below the top 20, a few songs earn new peaks. These include Christina Grimmie's "Feelin' Good" up from 27 to 21, Lily Allen's "Sheezus" up from 33 to 27, and Christina Perri's "Human" up from 30 to 29. It's also worth noting that Lorde's "Tennis Court" moves up from 34 to 28. Demi Lovato's "Really Don't Care" also moves up from 39 to 33. "Really Don't Care" is close to earning a new peak. The chart also sees one debut this week from Thirty Seconds to Mars. They enter at number 40 with "Up in the Air." This is the band's first chart entry, and I know, I'm far behind with this one. "Up in the Air" was a single over a year ago. (It was released in March 2013.) However, I never heard the song until March of this year when my roommate showed it to me. I liked it, but didn't download it for some reason and then I completely forgot it existed until a few weeks ago. Better late than never, though, right?
