I think two of the Hanson guys were younger than 16; the oldest was 16 - #1 for Mmmbop Peggy March - I Will Follow Him is the youngest girl
Edit: found 2 more
Brenda Lee was 15 - I'm Sorry Leslie Gore was 16 - It's My Party

It wasn't just I Love It that got 21 weeks on the chart (even though it was outside the top 50). Other songs like Bugatti and Harlem Shake did too I think. I'm sure there's more too.

Paul Anka was 16 when "Diana" which he also wrote, went to #1 in 1957.
Brian Hyland was still only 16 when he went to #1 with "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" in 1960.

So even if it is 51 with a bullet in 21st week gone. The rule used to be that the song had to be above 50 for the rule to apply. If a song was never reached 50 with 20 weeks and was still climbing or being promoted it could continue. However, that changed - probably with the "Whitney" rule. (There used to be a 20 week waiting period or something ridiculous before a song could bounce back.) Confusing. Yep. This way is so much easier.

No that's not the rule. Once the song falls below 50, it is removed. So even if it is 51 with a bullet in 21st week gone. While Billboard has removed some songs that fit your description, that's not actually the way they have it written. If you look at the Recurrent Rules section of their charts legend, all of their descriptions specifically refer to removing "descending songs", so a song that is still gaining / rising up the chart should not meet the recurrency rule as written.

As much as I love P!nk, it's been awhile since we've had a song rise up based on "replacing" lost airplay from previous hit. I've hated TL from the beginning - just thought it was weak. After seeing the test scores, I'm still amazed this is gaining. It's even more bizarre to see it trumping Brit. I'd rather the two swapped places.

Tapout as well So: Tapout I Love It Harlem Shake Bugatti I'm sure there's others. Why do they do this though? It's too many just to be coincidence or a "mistake" imo. Or maybe do they correct these later, after we've already seen the chart? It wouldn't be the first time they edited the Hot 100 after releasing it this year.

When the Billboard article discusses the streaming total for a song, that includes youtube views and sources like Spotify, correct? They basically add the numbers together for views and listening?

I have chart runs for all 4 of those songs and "I Love It" is the only one with an extra week. The other 3 only have 20. I usually don't save the new week right away so they might have been updated shortly after being posted.

This thread is a mess.. Tapout, Harlem Shake and Bugatti never got that 21st week as Josh pointed out.
For example Harlem Shake's final week, its 20th (#70), was on chart dated 13/07/13

There's a rule that if a song is below the Top 50 on it's 21st,22nd,ect. and it still has a lot of points, they will grant it a "longevity week", which is why I Love It got an extra week.

I am confused by that. Songs that fall to #51 in week 21 or week 22 have fewer points than songs at #50 There are two reasons a song that falls out of the top 50 with 20+ weeks and still remains on the chart 1. A song is still gaining in at least one radio format 2. Billboard goofed and allowed the extra week because they didn't check for recurrents that is basically it

I still think they give week 21 for songs that are barely outside the top 50 just in case they slide back into the top 50 the next week so they don't have to have the song re enter.

Okay, I looked it up, and it DID happen. Bugatti and Harlem Shake charted for a 21st week, as did Alive by Krewella and We Still In This Bitch got a 22nd week. All 4 of these songs were outside the top 50. This was all in the same week as well. I couldn't find the thread for it on this forum, but I found it on a different website: acharts.us/us_singles_top_100/2013/28Maybe Billboard changed it later on, but hopefully you guys now know I wasn't making this up. I did mention when everybody was fussing over I Love It getting a 21st week that it happened earlier in the year.

If you tried looking manually week for week , you'll only see 20 weeks for the songs you mentioned that has a 21st week.
