Airplay update for today?
Also is the Wednesday update every week the exact same as the hot 100 airplay chart from billboard (same positions)?

^No, not exactly. With some tracks, there are differences.
Billboard.com:
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Eminem's "The Monster," featuring Rihanna, debuts at No. 1 with 373,000 downloads. Itβs the biggest sales week for a song since September, when Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" bowed at No. 1 with 477,000. "The Monster" logs the largest sales week for any Eminem song since 2010, when "Not Afraid" debuted at No. 1 with 379,000.β¨β¨
"The Monster" easily beat industry projections for the song's first week. Predictions were pegging it to start at around 300,000.β¨β¨
"The Monster" is also Eminem's ninth No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart, tying him with Perry for the second-most leaders on the tally. They are both behind Rihanna, who now has 13 (counting her "Monster" collaboration). β¨β¨
Eminem has two more songs in the top 10 of the Digital Songs chart this week: "Survival" jumps 34-6 with 140,000 (up 240%) and "Rap God" dips 8-9 with 131,000 (up 23%). He's only the second act to have scored three concurrent songs in the top 10 this year, following Perry on the Oct. 19 chart. β¨β¨
Behind Eminem this week at No. 2 is One Direction's "Story of My Life," which starts with a stronger-than-expected 305,000. Sources had forecast the tune to launch with 250,000-275,000.β¨β¨
"Story of My Life" is the third song from One Direction to debut with sales of more than 300,000. It follows "Best Song Ever" (322,000) and "Live While We're Young" (341,000).β¨β¨
With Eminem and One Direction both debuting at Nos. 1 and 2, it's the first time since the Oct. 20, 2012, chart that the top two titles are both new entries. That week, One Direction's "Live While We're Young" started at No. 1, while Taylor Swift's "Red" opened at No. 2 with 312,000.β¨β¨
Lorde's "Royals" falls from No. 1 to No. 3 this week, selling 196,000 (down 12%). The cut spent five nonconsecutive weeks atop the tally.β¨β¨
Perry's "Roar" rises 8-4 with 141,000 (up 28%), Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" slides 2-5 with 140,000 (down 11%), and Passenger's "Let Her Go" zooms 13-7 with 139,000 (up 65%). It's the best sales week yet for the song and its first week in the top 10. "The Voice" contestant Cole Vosbury covered the song last week (Oct. 28).
Nos. 6 and 7 songs are missing (unless the Passenger song is supposed to be No. 6; then Nos. 7 and 8 are missing.β¨β¨
OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" descends 4-9 with 131,000 (down 14%), and Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" drops 5-10 with 123,000 (down 10%).β¨β¨
Digital track sales this past week totaled 20.4 million downloads, up 3% compared with last week (19.9 million) and down 5% stacked next to the comparable week of 2012 (21.4 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 1.07 billion, down 4% compared with the same total at this point last year (1.11 billion).β¨β¨

"Rap God" was No. 9 last week so that must have been a typo. I assume it rose this week.

Did anyone expect to see Venus in the top 10?
It started well but plummeted fast: 2-3-12-21-37-54-61.
Bieber also missed the top 10.

Half of the artists in the last 10 years are no longer having hits so 4 yrs actually is the norm for most pop careers. Lead singer of Breathe continued releasing solo material. Also what I meant to say is they all could sing LIVE and alot had ongoing success for years. Justin Timberlake, BeyoncΓ©, Kanye West, Pink, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Rihanna, Usher, Katy Perry, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Drake, Kelly Clarkson and more beg to differ...

Lorde's 'Royals' Rules Hot 100 for Sixth WeekThe song holds off debuts from Eminem, who blasts in at No. 3 with "The Monster," and One Direction, which enters at No. 6 with "Story of My Life" Lorde's "Royals" commands the Billboard Hot 100 for a sixth week, while Eminem and One Direction soar onto the chart with top 10 debuts. The bow for Eminem is especially notable, as, among other honors, the song grants the rapper his first No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and helps him earn a Hot 100 honor not accomplished since the Beatles 49 years ago. It's Wednesday, so let's look deeper at the numbers, as always. "Royals" crowns the Radio Songs chart for a third week with 171 million audience impressions, down less than 1%, according to Nielsen BDS. The track leads the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart for a fifth week with 2.4 million on-demand U.S. streams, according to BDS (down 9%) and holds at its No. 2 peak on the overall Streaming Songs chart (7.2 million U.S. streams, down 2%). "Royals" dips 1-3 on the Digital Songs chart (196,000 downloads sold, down 12%, according to Nielsen SoundScan), which it led for five nonconsecutive weeks. The song's continued Hot 100 reign makes for a nice birthday present for Lorde: she'll turn 17 tomorrow. As reported Monday, "Royals" crosses to a debut on the Latin Pop Songs airplay chart this week, padding a resume that already includes play at formats ranging from alternative and pop to adult, R&B and dance. It tops Hot Rock Songs for a 10th week. Miley Cyrus' former two-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Wrecking Ball" rebounds 3-2. It leads Streaming Songs for a sixth cumulative week (8.6 million, down 3%) and becomes her first top five hit on Radio Songs, pushing 6-5 (114 million, up 7%). The ballad drops 5-10 on Digital Songs (123,000, down 10%).What's this, a man in the Hot 100's top three? Indeed, as, after seven weeks of only women occupying the region, Eminem debuts at No. 3 with "The Monster," featuring Rihanna. The arrival ties for his third-best among 48 career visits, matching the September start of "Berzerk," the lead single from his album "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," which is set to debut at No. 1 on next week's Billboard 200 with the year's second-best sales frame. Eminem has started better on the Hot 100 only with "Not Afraid" (No. 1, 2009) and "Love the Way You Lie," also featuring Rihanna (No. 2, on its way to a seven-week reign, in 2010)."Monster" opens at No. 1 on Digital Songs with 373,000. It's his ninth No. 1 on the chart, tying him with Katy Perry for the second-most leaders in the tally's history. They trail only Rihanna, who, thanks to her featured turn on the song, ups her total to 13. The track also storms onto Streaming Songs at No. 17 (2.3 million first-week streams) and No. 31 on Radio Songs (37 million, up 265%). On the latter list, it's his second-best start after 2004's "Just Lose It" (No. 17). Fellow tracks from Eminem's new set rank back-to-back-to-back in the Hot 100's top 20: "Berzerk" (25-15); "Survival" (67-16 with Digital Gainer honors, as it increases by 240% to 140,000); and "Rap God" (21-17). (The sales spikes for the three titles reflect both individual purchases of the songs as well as sales via the album pre-order on iTunes (through Sunday, Nov. 3). With the pre-purchase of the set, Eminem's four current Hot 100 tracks are all delivered automatically, with the consumer charged for each track as a deposit for the album.) The rapper becomes just the sixth act ever to place at least four songs in the Hot 100's top 20 simultaneously, joining the Beatles (who boasted a record six in two weeks in 1964), 50 Cent (2005), T-Pain (2007-08), Lil Wayne (2008) and Ludacris (2010). Notably, 50 Cent, T-Pain and Lil Wayne all earned the honor with hits that included featured billings. Thus, Eminem is, amazingly, the first artist since the Beatles, the week of May 16, 1964, to chart four titles in the Hot 100's top 20 all as a lead artist. More honors for Eminem: "Monster" opens atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, where, incredibly, it's his first No. 1 among 42 career visits. He'd previously peaked as high as No. 2 with "Rap God," "Berserk" and 2009's "Forever." Rihanna notches her third Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs No. 1, following "Take a Bow" (2008) and "Diamonds" (2012-13). "Monster" concurrently begins at No. 1 on Rap Songs, where it's the sixth and fourth leader for Eminem and Rihanna, respectively. Eminem breaks up an all-lead female top three on the Hot 100, as Lorde, Cyrus and Katy Perry ("Roar," see below) had monopolized the region for seven straight weeks. The run ends as the second-longest streak of songs by lead women in the top three, following the record 10 weeks in 1999, courtesy of Brandy, Deborah Cox, Britney Spears, Monica, Cher and Whitney Houston. Perry's former two-week No. 1 "Roar" slides 2-4 on the Hot 100. Of the Hot 100 component charts, it ranks highest on Radio Songs, where it holds at No. 3 (140 million, down 5%) after reigning for four weeks. Meanwhile, "Unconditionally," the second single from Perry's album "PRISM," which opened atop last week's Billboard 200, climbs 30-25 on the Hot 100 and 33-18 on Radio Songs (47 million, up 30%) in its second week on each chart.Avicii closes out the Hot 100's top five, as "Wake Me Up!" drops to No. 5 from its No. 4 peak. It stays at its No. 2 highpoint on Radio Songs (151 million, down 1%) and leads Dance/Electronic Songs for a ninth week. One Direction scores the Hot 100's other top 10 debut this week, as "Story of My Life" starts at No. 6. It enters at No. 2 on Digital Songs (and No. 1 on Pop Digital Songs) with 305,000 and No. 22 on Streaming Songs (1.9 million). The ballad is the boy band's fourth Hot 100 top 10, after last year's "What Makes You Beautiful," which reached No. 4, and "Live While We're Young" (No. 3) and "Best Song Ever," which debuted and peaked at No. 2 in August. "Best" and "Story" introduce One Direction's third studio album "Midnight Memories," due Nov. 25.Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" (featuring Majid Jordan) falls 5-7, although it leads R&B Songs for a sixth week; Imagine Dragons' "Demons" rises 9-8 as the chart's top Airplay Gainer for a second week (81 million, up 18%); OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" retreats 8-9, despite a 31-17 blast on Radio Songs (47 million, up 30%); and Lady Gaga's No. 4-peaking "Applause" drops 7-10.Outside the Hot 100's top 10, notable moves include a 35-20 vault for Pitbull's "Timber," featuring Ke$ha, and debuts for Gaga, whose "Venus," a track from her album "ARTPOP" (due Nov. 11), starts at No. 32, and Justin Bieber, whose "Recovery," the latest song from his "Music Mondays" series, bows at No. 40.Visit Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 7), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety and Digital Songs, Radio Songs, Streaming Songs and On-Demand Songs will be refreshed, as they are each Thursday. The latest charts will also appear in the next issue of Billboard magazine (on sale on Friday, Nov. 8).

Alanis "Thank U" - out-peaked most of her songs, getting to #2 airplay... But as far as I can tell, completely forgotten! It was the first single from her highly anticipated album so where a lot of the songs from Jagged Little Pill had scattered airplay due to crossover success, Thank U had more condensed success where its popularity was within one shorter period. So a higher peak but a short lifespan. Half of the artists in the last 10 years are no longer having hits so 4 yrs actually is the norm for most pop careers. Lead singer of Breathe continued releasing solo material. Also what I meant to say is they all could sing LIVE and alot had ongoing success for years. I would say artists have careers longer now than they did back in the 80s and 90s. Many of today's big acts have been around for quite a while. I think "singing live" is overrated, in comparison to being "entertaining".

It's very possible to sing live and be entertaining. :)
Even though Eminem is No. 3, there's still a female presence in the form of RiRi- she's getting that 30% credit.

Well they need to change this rule of other artist featuring....artist with the most SOLO....MEANING ALL BY YOUR SELF....instead of counting it in the artist solo act....if thats fare...then Paul McCartney should be the leader on the acts with the most #1's..and that would be 29 #1 singles on the HOT 100....no one will ever put a tally like that together ever again.

I think most people remember the "Thank U" video, if not the song. This is a good case where a physical release would've vaulted the song into the Top 10 (maybe even Top 5), instead of the #17 peak. That placement gave the illusion that it underperformed when, in fact, it was right up there in terms of peak airplay with the JLP songs.

Alanis Morrissette is always interesting to me. You can't have your debut CD (I know it wasn't really her debut) that huge, and try to follow it up with another successful cd.
Where does she stand overall amongst female pop artists?
