Chart Notes: - So I rediscovered Little Big Town's Girl Crush this week, and even though it's already starting to play out for me, it makes a huge splash this week, with the second highest debut of the year.
- Pop's Top 200 was on hiatus once again over this weekend, but will be back today. We will be up to #160!
- It's an otherwise pretty quiet chart this week, as the biggest jump is a 3 point move, which goes to Cheerleader.
Now it's 2008's turn. Katy Perry's first hit remains her biggest on my chart. She's hit the top 10 another ten times, but only managed to make it to #1 once more, with "Firework" for one week. Coldplay was rising up the chart with Violet Hill, which would end up being the #1 song for 2008.

Chart Notes: - As usual, check out Pop's Top 200! We are up to #130 as of today.
- This week's chart was determined by a Danger Zone contest in the games section. I participated, which helped mitigate some of the craziness that happened the last time I did this. But it still left me with a bit to talk about, such as Glitterball tying for highest debut of the year (Annie Lennox/Hozier's mash-up also debuted at #6 this year.)
- Zedd returns to #1 after a 3 week hiatus. That's the second longest time out for a song to return to #1. "Stars" by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals did it two years ago after a 4 week hiatus. An interesting first is that he returned to #1 after two songs interceded in the meantime.
- Big moves - I wasn't there to prevent Life of Dillon's disastrous drop from #4 to #19. And you can credit Mikey for the large jump by "Shades of Grey."
- Years and Years becomes only the fourth act to land three songs in the top ten at the same time. They join Adele and Cecilia the Band as lead acts to do it. Pharrell actually showed up in the top ten four times in August of 2013, but three of these were as a featured act.
So what was happening in 2009? Oh that's right, Lady Gaga in her slayage years as she nabbed her 3rd consecutive #1. Only Adele and Josh Gracin (yes, really!) have ever managed three in a row from one album.

Chart Notes: - Here is another reminder to peruse Pop's Top 200! We should be through the bottom half of the chart after today.
- So things are resettling a little after this week, which means a readjustment for Shades of Grey downward, Tove Lo Upward, and a big jump for Elle King, who is awarded this week's biggest jump.
- Little Big Town notches their biggest hit on the chart. They had previously hit the top ten with "Pontoon," which had climbed to #8.
Well. 2010 has a dull chart. I do remember this being a summer of Eminem as he hit #1 one with three different songs. His thirs #1 of the season was about to dominate the week following. As for Home, that earned a spot on the top 200.

I noticed the biggest drop error when I posted, but I'd already fixed the chart three times, and was kind of over it. So at least your fave song avoided the biggest drop tag this week on a technicality

Chart Notes: - Have you forgotten to check out Pop's Top 200? You should be spanked!
- It's a great week for Years & Years, as not only do all three of their songs move up within the top 10, but they also reclaim the #1 spot, separately from the Biggest Jump award..
- This is the first week since January that the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 also appears in my top 10. In January, it was Blank Space.
2011 was a year of supreme Adele domination, but we catch her in a slight lull as Aloe Blacc snuck a few weeks at #1 in between her monster hit Rolling in the Deep and Set Fire to the Rain, which would move to #1 in a couple more weeks. Lady Gaga was just about to exit the top 5, but that was her 3rd of the year, following Born This Way and Judas.
