I love that "King" is no. 1 again and that "Ex's & Oh's" keeps rising. :)

Chart Notes: - Here's your weekly reminder to check out Pop's Top 200! Two of the songs on this week's chart made the list!
- It's been a few months since a woman was lead on the #1 single, but Elle King manages to topple the male domination this week.
- Sigma and Ella are enjoying their second top ten song. They are no longer one hit wonders on my chart.
This 2012 chart was in the midst of the London Olympics, so what's more fitting than a British band topping the chart with a song called winner. We also have a #2 peak for obscure blues playing Brody Buster Band. Perhaps .indulgecountry has heard of them? I caught them when I was out there for work a few years back. Carly had a huge debut at #3 and would move to #1 two weeks later.

Oops at that typo. Glitterball was also #6 last week, not at #5. I rewrote my notes.

Elle being at no. 1 is amazing, your top ten is flawless, and I'm rooting for Lenka to keep rising. Fantastic chart, Popstop! <3

Chart Notes: - Have you checked out Pop's Top 200 recently? We're about 3/4 through the list, and one of the songs in the retro chart was just posted today!
- Lenka moves into the top ten for the 4th time. Her other hits all hit the top three - "Trouble is a Friend" (#2 - December 2008); "All My Bells Are Ringing" (#1 - December 2008 - it was a big month for Lenka) and "Everything At Once" (#3 - February 2013)
- Years & Years becomes the first act since Iggy Azalea to appear for 4 weeks straight twice in the top 5. When Iggy did it was with Problem and Fancy
Two years ago, I was deep in my obsession with Blurred Lines. I am not going to apologize for still liking the song today. Back off, haters. This was also a big week for Pharrell. As he joined Eminem as the only act to appear in both the #1 and #2 position. Happy posted very early on my chart because I had heard the song when I took my son to see Despicable Me 2. Unfortunately, it peaked when Blurred Lines was at its strongest and it never hit #1. Pink was one of only two women to appear in the top five that summer as lead - the other was India Arie.

Chart Notes: - The Pop's Top 200 should "wrap it up" sometime next week. Perhaps you should check it out.
- Rudimental moves into the top 10 for the first time.
- I thought Otto Knows would be a one hit wonder (see last year's retro chart) but Next to Me looks poised to enter the top 10 next week.
Parachute ended up being a surprise hit on my chart, moving to #1 in the wake of Rude's collapse. The week after this, "Bang Bang" would jump from outside the top five to #1. Iggy Azalea snuck in a week in the top five with "Work," but hasn't been back since.

β’ Great to see "Shine", "Desire" and "King" on your chart, especially the former which I hope it reaches atop soon. β’ It's so good that "Rumour Mill" has entered into the Top 10! β’ Keep going "Next to Me" and "Powerful". β’ Nice debut of "Beautiful Now".

I just realized that Years and Years have both the biggest jump and the biggest fall this week. I'm pretty sure that's never happened before.
Also, it's not marked this time because of the fall, but King was #1 for 3 weeks.

Chart Notes: - We are getting to the end of Pop's Top 200! It is up to #22, and should finish up this week!
- The top ten features Elle, Ellie, and Ella, but it is Elle who reigns supreme for a 4th straight week.
- This is Major Lazer's third top ten, following the #1 Bubble Butt, and the #4 Aerosol Can. It is Ellie's fifth.
So this is the first time a week has come up where I have an existing chart from 1998, the first year I charted! It was a pretty stagnant chart in those days - I was only 11, and as you can see there were lengthy stays at #1. The Mummer's Dance still holds the record for most weeks at #1, and The Rockefeller Skank is tied for #2 with Rolling in the Deep. Spoiler alert - one of these songs made my all-time top ten!
