I took the survey on RateTheMusic, it asks you your opinion about this song, whether you have the Cd, if you want to hear this/her songs on the radio, etc. Hope everyone else does the same :)

This thread was made back in January, and the song hasn't peaked yet. Wow.

^She's only been on the charts about 25 weeks which is fairly average for a Top 2/hopefully #1.

Yeah, this song didn't go for adds until the latter part of February despite the fact that the thread was started in January. However, I'd say 25 weeks (soon to be 26) is above average for a top 2 song. I think the average #1 song gets to the top in about 20 weeks.

Have they chosen a second single from Taylor Swift's album? I think that Should've Said No or Mary's Song would make a big splash.

I took a road trip this weekend and gave her cd a couple of spins and I'm just not feeling it. The melodies are unoriginal, her vocals are weak, and the lyrics seem childish and overly simplistic.
I do enjoy the instrumentation, however.

She's actually shooting a video for "Our Song" sometime in the next week or so, so I would say it's more than a rumor. ;)

Oh yes! The first one was Tim McGraw. Teardrops has done so well I often forget about that. Our Song is a good choice I think.

Her astonishing CD is FULL of songs about real-life situations, and 'Picture To Burn' is every bit as incendiary as 'Goodbye Earl'!!!

"Teardrops On My Guitar" has taken over the #1 spot from "Before He Cheats" on the iTunes country chart. However, "Teardrops" has lost quite a bit of audience on Mediabase the last two days. She's no longer a threat to take over #1 from Kenny on Billboard this week.

I think that in the next week or so it could and will hopefully hit #1. Just my opinion.

I'm still holding out for a #1. After all, isn't this the same label that somehow goosed Wherever You Are by about 5 million in one week?

She's headed for a loss of more than a million next week (down 1.164 million for the week on Mediabase), so I think her chance to get to #1 is officially dead.

Nevertheless, it's been an astonishing chart run, and I'm really delighted that it reached #2, and should do very well on the year-end countdown shows.

Well I was really hoping that this wonderful song could join such previous standouts as 'Tonight I Wanna Cry' & 'Big Star' by finishing in the year-end top ten without reaching #1.
Nevertheless, it's been an astonishing year for a very promising newcomer.
As long as she doesn't go the Cyndi Thomson route on us, she's not going anywhere.

She has already surpassed the success of Cyndi Thompson by having two hit songs.

^Out of curiosity, what's the highest placing a #2 single has had in the Top 10? Highest I can think of is "Something More" by Sugarland, which was the #4 single of 2005.

I really hope there's still a chance they decide to give this a pop radio release for crossover success. I think Taylor could do it, atleast go as far as What Hurts The Most did.

This song IS being played on Pop Radio. I've heard it numerous times on Sirius Hits One channel as well as our local pop station here in seattle, Kiss 106.1.

Impressive that this song appears to have gone recurrent from #3 on Billboard. And without even one remark about the evils of the President of the USA, which is usually the way to drop off from that high a position.
I guess that means the new one will start taking off quickly.

The fact that her song and 'I Told You So' combined to lose almost 2,100 spins last week was astonishing, but that's corporate micromanagement at it's absolute worst.
She barely missed the record for most spins lost in a week, a dubious mark set by 'High Maintenance Woman' a few months ago.

I have probably said this somewhere before, but I really wish they'd re-release the album with the TOMG edit on it. I LOVE the edit, and I have played the video (which basically is the edit) over 70 (Yes, 70!!!) times on my iTunes. I think it would be a pretty good idea.
