Wow, that gap between Work and 7 Years has lowered significantly. Either next week or the week after, we're back to the fast turnover rate from before. And, just as I feared, Work From Home is in the top 10. Lovely... Worst top 10 hit since Wiggle. I totally disagree on WFH. It's a solid track with on-point production and has it's undeniable style and attraction and lives up some glamorous sex. Maybe it sounds a little dry, but generally it's cool. What do you mean it sounds a little dry?

How will you all of react if Panda reaches #1? Also, why is the doing so well? I get it, it's a fairly good song. But what about it is making it blow up? I don't think it's just because he sounds like Future because Future hasn't even had a top 10 hit "Panda" was sampled by Kanye West on the song "Pt. 2" from TLOP.

I don't think it's just because he sounds like Future because Future hasn't even had a top 10 hit I'd be alright with it. It's surprisingly catchy with a fairly unique sound (I don't get the Future comparisons either). Part of me thinks it has to do with Kanye's refusal to release his album out until now. Someone said that one of his songs sampled Panda and I think that's when it took off.

Nice to see Work From Home hit the top 10.
I'm guessing at least 24 weeks in the top 10 for Love Yourself

Nice to see Work From Home hit the top 10. I'm guessing at least 24 weeks in the top 10 for Love Yourself I get the feeling that it's probably gonna be 23 weeks. Looks like radio's finally starting to freefall, and its other stats seem to be falling even faster than Stressed Out (which I'm pretty sure is gonna leave the top 10 next week). Unless its downward momentum suddenly stops, its days in the top 10 are numbered.

This week: 1. Work 46,000 points 2. 7 Years 39,000 3. NO 32,500 ... 9. ITAPII 27,000 10. WFH 26,900 It proves that streaming/12,000 is correct, and potentially sales/900 or 1000? Anyway, NO.10 SONG HAS ABOUT 27,000 points????! That's almost a history record for non-xmas week, seriously WOW LUKAS COULD BE #1 NEXT WEEK!

I am not getting the Panda song. I could tolerate it being #1 for a couple weeks, but if it turns out to be a 10+ week monster, I could get suicidal.

Simon & Garfunkel's original Sounds of Silence got 5 million streams last week thanks to this video:
2 years ago it probably would have re-entered the Hot 100.

Here's one thing that I think is not that accurate about the Hot 100. The radio's low-ish affect on the chart. Think about it, there are people (mostly kids) that will hear a song on the radio a lot and like it. But they don't have access to streaming, so they never are able to stream it.
Another thing: Adjusting the formula to raise sales' impact was good for seeing chart movements. But when looking at chart accuracy, that's a bad idea.
^ But at least those above reasons don't make the Hot 100 wildly inaccurate.

I thought about it the other day and came to a similar conclusion: 150 million radio should be just as much-weighed as 150 million streaming. Radio's coverage is just soooo huge that almost half the country's audience is involved

People can choose what song they want to hear. While radio can reach more people at once, the person listening might not like the song but still have it playing since many people are loyal to whatever local station plays their preference of music. If Love Yourself comes on the radio, the person listening might not actually like the song, but if someone streams Love Yourself, it's more than likely that they wanted to listen to the song. Also, there's the whole thing of radio being biased toward certain artists (payola, radio darlings, etc.)

How many streams are necessary to crack the Hot 100? Famous was added to Spotify on Monday, so it had 4 days on that chart week and got as high as #3 on Spotify. I assumed it'd debut this week, but intead it was 25 on the Bubbling Under.
