That 1996 Top 10. I agree. The years 1995, 1996 were the golden years of music. My favorite this decade is 2011. I loved every single song posted this week!

I'm gonna rank this decade's years of music so far (In terms of what was was popular during each year. Ex: Thinking Out Loud counts as 2015. If a song crosses through 2 years, you could put the song in both or just its best year. Which ever one better represents that year of music.) 1. 2015 2. 2012 3. 2010 4. 2011 5. 2014 6. 2013
Based off of 2016's popular music, it already easily beats 2013 and 2014. Maybe even 2011 and 2010, but not yet, we've only had 3 months so far (Despite the terrible #1 that we have right now). :)
(Also, if this year were to continue with this level of great music, I would easily put this above 2015)

For me it's: 1. 2015 2. 2011 3. 2012 4. 2014 5. 2013 6. 2010
Skimmed through the top 25 or so of the year-end Hot 100s to decide this. I know some may disagree with me, but this has reminded me that this has been a fantastic decade for music.

I don't get it either. Is it because of the Kanye sample? probably Well, even Sister Nancy got a big bump since TLOP's release, so that's possible.

That's like saying that you would rather get punched in the face than kicked in the nads. Both of those songs are cringeworthy lowest-common-denominator trash, IMO. I am cheering for 7 Years, but only because they're danish. Besides, while Rihanna is cool, "Work" is surely one of her worst hits and shouldn't be #1 for months on end. We're SOOOO different! Now I cheer for See You Again and Charlie Puth who has real talent and voice that's not so annoying. 7 Year just sounds creepy as **** and makes me pretty uncomfortable to listen to it.. I think listening to 7 Year repeatedly can really impact my mental health and I personally still don't think it's healthy. But maybe for some others this song is tolerable? I dunno I have heard a lot of things about a song, but disrupting mental health? Really? See You Again is alright, but it needs Puth to save it from some mediocre rapping from Khalifa. I know he's talented...his Chandelier is better than Sia's. Count me into those that really like 7 Years the more I hear it. It reminds me more of Stressed Out in its backwards examination of a life. While Stressed Out's narrator is pining to go back to the days where life was more simple, 7 Years's narrator has no problem looking back at his life...or looking ahead to the future. In a lighter note, I'm hoping to see Lush Life and/or Faded to chart soon. These songs are just too good to bubble under. Oh, and bring You Don't Own Me with you.

Unfortunately, I didn't listen to much music in 2011. But if we are talking about nostalgic years music-wise, 2012 is the one for me. I just remember having the radio (which I still have to this day btw) up loud whenever I was at home alone while playing the classic Mario Kart Wii online. :) Songs like Beauty And A Beat bring back so many great memories of that year. It's just so nostalgic.

Well, ranked off the Hot 100 songs
2014 - 53 2013 - 44 2015 - 43 2010 - 33 2012 - 28 2011 - 26
The problem with this method though is that I didn't start following the charts until 2014, and before then I only knew songs that were very popular (or songs from artists I liked). There also some songs that I don't like now looking back, but loved at the time (e.g. Billionaire). Just thinking about it and the music I listened to, 2015 and 2011 were my least favourite years of music, and 2014/2013 my favourite. I really liked 2012 and 2010, as well. 2016 seems to be good so far, but I'm not a fan of a lot of the songs towards the top of the chart.
