It just occurred to me...IDK what kind of tracking we'll be able to have regarding any airplay figures for Prince's catalogue, because I'm not sure what kind of access Kworb would have (if any) for Gold-designated songs. He can track Currents and Recurrents, yes, but Kworb is your system set up to include Gold designation or no?

Obviously not as useful as having daily info, but there is an account on Twitter with Mediabase access who posts some radio updates. I'm om mobile right now, but I believe I posted a tweet of theirs with a few of his song's AIs a few pages back :)

I think it's safe to say Prince will have all of the top 5 if not all of the top 10 on digital songs on the 5/14 issues. 2-3 days later he still has a massive lead over the highest song not from him in spite of his consistent dark red updates and Drake's/Desiigner's/Lukas's dark green updates... Panda (the highest-selling song not from Prince atm) is still at less than 30% of the highest Prince song, and still lower than at least 7 Prince songs (I didn't bother checking multiple versions of his other songs in the top 20). It's quite possible Purple Rain sells over 400k and re-enters the Hot 100 at #1 I think, especially since it's getting a lot of streaming too apparently...

Whitney Houston passed away with 1 full day and the evening of another day left in a chart week. I'm having trouble finding her Digital Songs positions, but I know "I Will Always Love You" was her top seller and went 3-2-13.

The first Digital Song charts after her death had the following songs from her on it: 3 I Will Always Love You (2-13) 25 I Want to Dance with Somebody (13) 32 Greatest Love of All (20) 46 How Will I Know (36) 53 I Have Nothing (38) 65 Saving All My Love For You (49) 74 One Moment in Time (56) 75 The Star Spangled Banner (48)
Didn't We Almost Have it All (58) Where Do Broken Hearts Go (61) I Look to You (68) I'm Every Woman (70)
The first week, she had 8 songs on the chart, the next 12 and the third week, just "I Will Always Love You" (the second week positions are in the brackets)

Thanks. I would have thought she would have done better tbh.

It looks like some Prince songs are being uploaded to Vevo; at least 10 in the past few hours. The biggest known of them are "Little Red Corvette" and "1999."

Well, Panda has finally passed the smaller version of Purple Rain, so it looks like tomorrow will be the last day where Prince has a huge lead over everything else. It's getting 4 great days of sales at least, so I'm optimistic. If it really does have streaming to go along with the sales, it looks like it will be getting #1, considering Panda isn't a radio juggernaut. Panda is starting to grow on me, but... let's be honest here, it's no Purple Rain. If it blocks Purple Rain by a thread, I'm probably gonna end up hating it again.
I'm curious on how One Dance is gonna fare as well. It has had an absolutely meteoric rise in streaming recently, and is shooting up radio a lot faster than Panda, but the sales haven't quite caught up yet. I'm thinking we might have 3 different #1s in a row for these next few weeks: Panda, Purple Rain, and One Dance. Finally some decent turnover. Drake's team can't screw it up again, can they?

yeah it would be funny yet frustrating if PR having previously peaked at #2 came back to the chart only to be #2 again. Looks like Love Yourself will get no more than 23 consecutive weeks in the top 10 due to Prince likely getting 2-3 songs in the top 10 on 5/14

If Purple Rain wound up being #2 to Panda that would be worse than when it was originally blocked at #2 by Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. I mean I like Wham! and I don't mind if Panda gets its time on top...but Purple Rain is Purple Rain. It getting a week at #1 would be the tiniest bright light in all this tragedy.
Well, here are my rough estimates on Purple Rain's sales, based on the pop bars and the report of Purple Rain selling 125k during the last 12 hours of the previous tracking week.
Friday: 225-250k (probably more considering it had a bigger lead on Friday than on Thursday, as well as the full day of tracking) Saturday: 150-175k (Still leading about 6-7 to 1) Sunday: 85k-100k (Right now the lead's down to around 3.5 to 1 over One Dance) Monday: 45-55k Tuesday: 20-30k (Lead probably gone at this point) Wednesday: 15-20k Thursday: 10-15k
Even at my more conservative estimates, looks like it's easily breaking 400k. Assuming my predictions aren't horribly wrong, it has a decent chance of breaking 500k as well. Though even if my calculations are pretty inflated, I don't see it doing less than 400k. The only problem with this prediction is if the success of Prince's songs actually tanked the sales of everything else, so I'm not completely confident that they're correct until I see everything else's sales relative to this.
It would be crazy if PR got #1 posthumously after it peaked at #2 back when it was released. I know posthumous #1's are not uncommon (i.e. "Hypnotize"), but considering that this is basically a separate chart run from its original release chart run more than 30 years ago, it would be a very bizarre occurrence (especially for people 5, 10, 15, etc. years from now looking back at the #1's of 2016). For that reason alone I'd like PR to get a week at #1 on 5/14 (not more than 1 week though).
well the category said music and you asked if there are any filed under music so that video fits that description. I'm guessing it does count then if the category says music

Live videos definitely count. Remember a live performance from Lady Gaga sent her into the top ten once. They just have to be listed under music (RIP to Piece by Piece's loss of a #1).
*** indicates that the song dropped or added a format ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 Years looks like it will be getting #1 by next week!
ITAPII is putting up some great gains! This gives me hope that it will be top 5 on the Hot 100 this week!!! :) (It could even get a #3 peak at this rate)
Like I said, One Dance will be a huge hit. Just look at those AI updates!!!
