With the controversy-boosted This is What You Came For and new songs from Britney and Katy Perry, hopefully there will be some exciting chart action in the top 10 soon

My take on the next #1: Cheap Thrills is going to be #1, TIWYCF is not reach #1. Cheap Thrills is gaining too fast (especially in radio) for TIWYCF to have a chance. Wouldn't surprised if Cheap Thrills became a 5+ week #1 because nothing else is really strong enough (in my opinion) and One Dance has held onto the #1 spot because of that reason. While I do agree that Cheap Thrills should remain ahead of TIWYCF,but it may not hit #1 if One Dance gets a video and it's good.

They shouldnt have discounted Cheap Thrills; at least not yet. It may end up hurting her.

Very interesting with Britney and Katy this week! Brit will likely debut higher than Katy, maybe Brit gets a 3rd #1 debut!

Really hoping "Cheap Thrills" gets a big boost somehow. The good thing is that its streaming is improving on spotify, albeit slowly. It was ~#10 when both versions were combined a week ago, now they're hovering in the #8-#9 zone combined and not far off #6 combined. Once Katy/Britney/5SOS start slowing down on iTunes it should regain being #1 combined, especially with it being discounted now. The sales for TIWYCF should level off/start decreasing again now that the hype around the feud has stopped (it's had two red updates in a row and could continue to). The main issue for Sia getting to #1 is Drake's airplay. She needs to get a large sales/airplay lead to take on Drake and from what I can see, Urban is keeping him from falling too fast, as well as Pop radio in two minds about whether to keep increasing it or to drop it. It's descending at a nice pace on Rhythmic though. All it needs is for Pop to start dropping it fast and its sales should decrease a lot as well with decreasing airplay. Certainly going to be an interesting few weeks for the top spot. *_*

Wow, both Rise and Make Me start to have bad blood on iTunes bars already.. At this pace I wonder if either of them can pass 200k sales this week

No
Both releases are really messed up tbh. Britney doesn't have the chance of top ten without video streams and Katy doesn't have Spotify

No Both releases are really messed up tbh. Britney doesn't have the chance of top ten without video streams and Katy doesn't have Spotify I'm thinking/hoping that Britney is planning to release the video on Monday to guarantee that she's in the news cycle at the beginning of the week and to sustain sales for the next tracking period. We know the video is ready so there's no excuse for us not already having it except for timing. Katy not being on Spotify yet is kind of odd though. I'm inclined to chalk it up to this 'only' being a song for the Olympics and thus a decision to mostly rely on NBC's Olympic coverage for promo; still, if she's going to go through the trouble of buying out all the ad space on iTunes, you'd think she'd also want to book her streaming KPUs too.

Rise in particular is very interesting because I don't think Katy is a streaming force in 2016, the music landscape is now very different to what it was 4-5 years ago. Would love to see how it goes.

Rise is an Apple exclusive. They'll most likely put it on Spotify next week or the week after. Ideally, they'd do it around the time of the second video release (the one with her in it). With the political party conventions this month, the Olympics won't start really getting its push until they're over. With that, the options were to release the song now and get a bit of advance word out, or do it in a shorter period and crunch everything right after.

It's not on Spotify because the song is exclusive to Apple Music as far as streaming at least for now.

Ah, I keep forgetting that! Apple exclusives are usually....two weeks? I think I recall Hotline Bling being Apple-exclusive for that long.
