I'm happy cause Kehlani finally got her 1st charting entry on the Hot 100 with Gangsta which debuted at #62, I hope it can become a hit.

Got a feeling that Cold Water will have a run INCREDIBLY similar to Sorry. With Closer looking like the next number one song with leads in sales and streaming, Cold Water will be stuck at 2 until Closer drops or the Cold Water music video.

It was a game (called Danger Zone) which a few other people and I played and it was based on the 2005 Hot 100 Year-End list. There are actually quite a few songs that are discounted, check here: kworb.net/pop/ (The discounted songs have a "$" in their song name column, in case you may not have known)

Do you think closer gets enough airplay to challenge cheap thrills for the top spot?

Do you think closer gets enough airplay to challenge cheap thrills for the top spot? I'm actually creating my post for the Hot 100 Prediction thread, and this is what the top 3 should look like: Song - Sales - Radio - Streams = Points Closer - 122k- 48m - 19.8m = 34,856 Cheap Thrills - 56k - 152m - 12.7m = 32,006 Cold Water - 68k - 73.5m - 20.5k = 31,989 Very close battle between Cheap Thrills and Cold Water this week, but Closer should get #1 by almost 3k points. PS: I'm gonna look further into the CT/CW battle to make sure I get their 2 positions correct because it is very close between the 2.

Really happy for Closer but I do hope Cold Water manages at least a week at #1 at some point.

PS: I'm gonna look further into the CT/CW battle to make sure I get their 2 positions correct because it is very close between the 2. Update: Closer - 122k - 48m - 20.5m = 35,439 Cold Water - 68k - 73m - 20.6m = 32,022 Cheap Thrills - 56k - 152m - 12.6m = 31,922 I increased Closer's streaming, and that now gives it a 3.4k lead. Meanwhile, I have finally figured out the positions for Cold Water and Cheap Thrills. Still a close battle, but Cheap Thrills should fall below Cold Water (note: Cold Water shouldn't really get less than 20.6m streams, but it could more. So that's great news for anyone who wants Cold Water to stay at #2 or wants Cheap Thrills to fall to #3).

=========================== Youtube Daily Building Chart 8/15/2016 =========================== Heathens maintain its position, Closer may take #1 as well.
- Current top 10 is highlighted - Let Me Love you is gaining as the lyric video from Proximity is already claimed

Was there a #1 song this year that didn't hit #1 on streaming? Adele's hello is i think the only one Actually, Hello topped the Streaming Songs chart for 7 weeks (4 of them were in the 2016 tracking year, none of them were in the 2016 calendar year. But I would still count Hello as a "2016 Hot 100 #1 that topped the streaming chart" because it was #1 in 2016 and did reach #1 on streaming)

What is the most important chart, airplay, streaming or (digital) sales? I'd say streaming since it's the highest weighed component of the Hot 100.

Since Closer seems most likely to get #1 on the Hot 100 this week, I hope the music video for Cold Water comes very soon to push it to #1 the following week. With lead singles from Katy, Gaga, and Bruno supposedly coming soon, the competition on the Hot 100 is going to be strong this fall.

Thanks to those who answered my question. I didn't realize Cheap Thrills didn't hit #1 in streaming. Topping the Hot 100 for a month without hitting #1 in streaming is quite impressive these days.
How about streaming #1 songs this year, did they all top the Hot 100 this year as well?

As far as chart date goes: Hello - yes Sorry - yes Pillowtalk - yes Work - yes Panda - yes One Dance - yes Cold Water - no AFAIK, those are also 2016's On-Demand #1s. Cold Water is the only one not to so far, but it could eventually get there even though Closer is closing in (pun not intended).
