Can you think of any artists you like whose biggest songs are the ones that you dislike the most?
"Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran, hopefully that changes in the future and song like "Sing" or "Don't" hits #1, right now seems unlikely because he is generally "beloved" as this acoustic guitar guy, what a waste of talent
"Every Breath You Take" by The Police, I guess this is an unpopular opinion but i just can't stand this, even though I really like most of their other songs
"Red red wine" by UB40 (or maybe "Can't help falling in love" was their biggest hit, I also really dislike that song, but I don't really mind anything else)
"Wake me up" by Avicii, I dislike Avicii in general, but this is definetely one of his weakest and most boring songs, can't believe this was his breakthrough US hit

Adele - Hello T.I. - Live Your Life (I think this and Whatever You Like are equally the biggest hit) Tove Lo - Habits

"Red red wine" by UB40 (or maybe "Can't help falling in love" was their biggest hit I'd definitely say "Can't Help Falling in Love" is their biggest (and personally, that probably qualifies for the list that's opposite of this one). Whomever "Uptown Funk" gets qualified for - whether it's just Mark Ronson or both him and Bruno, either way, THAT. Jesse McCartney - "Leavin'" Cobra Starship - doesn't matter whether people say "Good Girls Go Bad" or "You Make Me Feel..." is their biggest; they're both equally awful Foster The People - "Pumped Up Kicks"

Rolling in the Deep was definitely bigger than Hello, even if it spent less weeks at #1. Firework is debatable. It spent less time at #1 than some of her other hits but I think it's definitely aging well and will probably end up being more remembered than California Gurls at the very least. Hero is not Mariah's biggest hit.

Katy Perry - Firework Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling Mariah - Hero Firework and Hero are not Katys and Mariahs biggest hits. Hero is Mariah's most remembered song worldwide. Yeah OSD spent more weeks at #1 but it definitely isn't her biggest hit. Also, We Belong Together wasn't that big outside of the US.

Katy Perry - Firework Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling Mariah - Hero Firework and Hero are not Katys and Mariahs biggest hits. With all due respect, is it really necessary to critique and pick apart every single post like this? Firework may not be Katy's biggest hit but it's not really a stretch to say it is. Same thing with Hero. Being this picky is why nearly so many threads you post in get thrown off topic.

It is not really that I detest these songs but I never listen to them as they have far more better songs I love Toni Braxton But not so much Un- break my heart Better songs: Breathe again, Hit the freeway, Yesterday, Please I love Whitney but not really I will always love you Better songs: All the man that I need, So emotional ... I love Celine Dion but not much My heart will go on Better ones: Breakaway, On ne change pas, Pour que tu m'aime encore I love Michael Jackson but not Beat it/ Billie Jean / Black or White Better songs: Who is it, In the closet, Liberian girl, Jam ... I love Janet but not That's the way love goes / Together again Better ones: Love will never do, If , I get lonely ... I love Alanis Morisette but not Ironic All other songs are better
So that's what comes to my mind
As for Mariah, I used to like Hero but not so much now nor We belong together Better ones: The roof, Clown, Side effects, Lullaby, Someday ...

Firework and Hero are not Katys and Mariahs biggest hits. Hero is Mariah's most remembered song worldwide. Yeah OSD spent more weeks at #1 but it definitely isn't her biggest hit. Also, We Belong Together wasn't that big outside of the US. Still not true. Hero is one of Mariah's big hits but by most measures it still remains in the shadow of Without You internationally. WY was Mariah's first number 1 in all the big EU markets (UK, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, etc) and still remains her best performing international hit in her vast catalogue. The song is pretty much responsible for making Music Box shift some 20+ million copies worldwide. Today, it still fares better in softer quantitative measures (see Youtube video views). However, culturally, neither of those stand a chance against All I Want For Christmas is You which not only has become iconic, but still performs extremely well internationally both in airplay and sales 20 years after its release. In terms of recognition, It could be argued, if broadly defined, that it is her biggest hit despite not topping the charts.

I'd also say "Cheap Thrills" by Sia, because it's really underwhelming for her biggest hit, but I can't say it's her worst song, that honor belongs to "Alive"

Adele - Hello T.I. - Live Your Life (I think this and Whatever You Like are equally the biggest hit) Tove Lo - Habits Rolling In The Deep is one of the top 100 songs ever. Hello started out big but did not have much longevity, falling off the chart after 20 something weeks.

ok but if we’re talking Charli as a lead artist... well on the Hot 100 at least. Boys and 1999 were popular everywhere but in the U.S. the years they came out

I know this is a bit of an unpopular opinion among some, but in terms of hit singles, I think "7 rings" is by far Ariana Grande's worst, and yet it is her most successful song according to Billboard (for now, at least). Similar to Taylor's "Shake It Off", it's definitely not a good representation of the artist, both among deep cuts and hit singles. "thank u, next" or "Side To Side" deserved the honor instead (or "Into You", in an ideal world). I second Zeebz with "All About That Bass", and this is coming from someone who actually enjoys a lot of Meghan Trainor's output. Thankfully AC stations still can't get enough of "Like I'm Gonna Lose You", so even if the former was the bigger hit according to Billboard, the latter could hopefully be better remembered. According to Billboard, Drake's biggest solo hit is " God's Plan", which despite being a good enough song, is far from his best hit song. I'd also add Stevie Wonder, whose biggest Billboard hit is " I Just Called To Say I Love You", which does not showcase the best of his artistry at all.
