Rain on Me has reached 1 billion streams on Spotify so it was a proper hit and still continues to collect streams nicely. I don't think it would've been a bigger hit under any circumstances.
Otherwise, I agree. 2020 and 2021 would've been even greater for her if the pandemic hadn't happened.

Definitely was, I just think it would have been way bigger even. Especially on radio, where the run was pretty meh. Hasn’t it also held up quite well on streaming over the years to get to that bil mark? Could lend weight to what I was saying about the lyrics being too real for many at the time, hence it was revisited more later. Also, the song was clearly intended for nights out and clubs, and yeah that wasn’t a thing that summer either. But no one will ever know obviously. |

Radio did Rain On Me dirty. I know it was likely partially because of Covid, but it was a bonafide streaming hit, hit #1 on billboard, and has had surprising longevity, yet they barely gave it a top 10 pop peak.
Anyway, glad that an album is confirmed to exist lol.

The pandemic definitely hindered a lot of promo that Gaga could’ve done and the album was released right at the beginning of the George Floyd protests. The entire world was focused on the protests and Covid at the time, so anything pop culture related took a backseat for weeks after that. On a different note, I’m ready for new Gaga and I hope we get a new album this year. I loved Chromatica and felt like a return to form for Gaga. I’m excited to see where she goes next with her music. |

I know Joaquin Phoenix is the main star but considering how prominent Gaga will be to the film, I would have thought she would have been featured more in the trailer. I haven't seen the first film so I guess I gotta watch that sometime.

I’m so ready for this movie. Too bad we have to wait until the fall.
The first movie was the most nominated Oscar movie that year and I predict this will rack em up too. The trailer is stunning with over 15 million views in 1 day which indicates a blockbuster on the horizon. The cinematography, editing, sets, and the buildup to the climax of the trailer is breathtaking. Looks like another Gaga critically acclaimed performance ahead this award season. My wish is that she has or is recording an original song for the film.
