The title itself suggest that Taylor is doing parody releasing this song as a single in a Corona summer. Musically it is one of Antonoff's average tracks, nothing special and her vocals on the bridge is trying too hard. Top 20 would be generous.

I'm really excited this song is going to be a single! I don't see this "smashing" as some have predicted, unless maybe there's a high profile remix, but I could definitely see it being a slow burner hit. If nothing else, I'm excited that this will probably mean we'll get a video and will keep some hype up around this era. On the one hand, this era has felt kind of short compared to Taylor's other eras, but on the other hand, Taylor has once again managed to stretch her era out much longer than most pop stars with a very successful holiday season, a documentary movie, a TV concert, and now a 5th single. Taylor is keeping us fed this era, and regardless of whether or not this flops, I really appreciate her dedication to keeping her fans engaged.

I don't think we should hold our breath for a video. Shooting is kinda complicated right now.

I played this a lot when the album came out, so I'm kind of over it now but I guess if radio wants it, let it happen. I still prefer "I forgot that you existed".

After a big break from the song, I played this today on my walk and it sounded as fresh as it was when I first heard it. I think that as long as people didn't stream it on the daily (which they didn't I'm sure), it's gonna be fine. It's dreamy and anthemic and perfect for the hot summer nights. :)

Glad this is getting picked, though I don't see any more big hits from this album.

POP (MOCK-UP):?? ?? TAYLOR SWIFT Cruel Summer 208 135 73 1.674 -3 Spins -31 Bullet -0.077 Audience So there was one station that fell off the starters list + Sirius XM did dial back on their plays (although they don't count for any audience; they're down to 50 plays for the rolling 7-day period rather than 60+ they were doing until maybe 2 days ago) which is likely contributing to the spin loss here. WWWQ in Atlanta seems to have cut their plays too (7 versus 20 last week). Is it peaking already?

What have been the official pop peaks for the first four singles? #7 βME!β #9 βYou Need To Calm Downβ #14 βLoverβ #20 βThe Manβ Interesting to note too that the first 3 singles all have very close together totals despite the gap in peaks. "The Man" performed just as poorly as that peak suggests, though.

So it's looking like we might need to wait a bit more (maybe next week when stations have the chance to add it?) before we see this taking off... Or a bunch of stations could've spun it once which wouldn't be enough for stations to show up on the starters list...

"The Man" performed just as poorly as that peak suggests, though. I always felt like "Lover" was the biggest hit among my circles. Despite peaking at #14, it spent a whopping 3 months in the Top 20, more than either one of the first two singles.

I saw a #6 peak for "Me" as well for pop radio when I checked.

I always felt like "Lover" was the biggest hit among my circles. Despite peaking at #14, it spent a whopping 3 months in the Top 20, more than either one of the first two singles. It should be noted that it was also aided by a huge feature remix and the Christmas freeze, both of which aided its longevity. Didn't it spend the majority of its run around 19 as well?
