^ I'll have that done sometime in the next two weeks. For future reference it's better to not quote 100 song lists if you can avoid it :) Sorry, I’m new to this blog!

^ I'll have that done sometime in the next two weeks. For future reference it's better to not quote 100 song lists if you can avoid it Sorry, I’m new to this blog! That's alright! No worries about it. 😊 Next time, I'd suggest you to tag the person (like inverse or xtynaaguilera99), and refer to the post in question. Welcome to the Pulse community, and I hope you have a great time here.

Here's 2008. This was by far and away the hardest one for me to do. There was the most deviation between my actual estimation and the year end list which I had to figure out how to account for and the charts seemed to shift wildly throughout the year. The beginning seemed mostly normal, the middle was very weak except for a few songs with long top 10 runs with beefy point totals, and the end was strong within the top 20 and then seemed to peter off once it got further down. Beyond that there's so many below She Got It, the #100 cutoff on the original year end list, that figuring those out was especially difficult. Also I swear I didn't put those three Taylor Swift songs next to each other, it just turned out that way. Anyway here it is, hope you enjoy!

Need U Bad would have been one of the lowest peaking songs to ever make the year end list at the time
Songs that missed here and made the actual year end: Crank Dat (Soulja Boy): made 2007 Hate That I Love You: made 2007 Cyclone: made 2007 Love Like This: caught Hypnotized: caught Big Girls Don't Cry: made 2007 (#1) Good Life: made 2007 Just Fine: caught Can't Help But Wait: caught Flashing Lights: caught The Way I Are: made 2007 Into The Night: caught

I swear "Bleeding Love" just came on shuffle while I was looking at this list. While "Low" is undeniably iconic, "Bleeding Love" has always been one of my favorite hit songs of 2008, and given how big it was everywhere, it would definitely be deserving of being the biggest song of the year.
Leona Lewis deserved so much better 😔
It would have been such a crazy coincidence to have three Taylor Swift songs back-to-back, though. How on Earth did that manage to happen? 😂

They sort of just collided I have that originally Our Song had 373258, Teardrops had 349210, and Love Story had 227450. If you remove them there's a big 26,000 point gap from Crush to Fall For You so all of them just needed to land somewhere in that space

Although “Low” is undeniably iconic, “Bleeding Love” definitely deserved to be the biggest song of 2008, considering how huge it was and how overplayed it was. Also, happy to see Disturbia over Take a Bow and Damaged by Danity Kane in the top 40. 😻
Can’t wait to see the 2009 one.

Damn Carrie Underwood lost out on 3 year-end hits by the chart being shifted by a month?

Definitely prefer the new scenario. Spotlight, New Soul, and wow three Carrie songs. Oh my goodness! I can't believe "New Soul" made it here, and that I didn't recognize it straight away. 😲 To be fair, I had no idea it was a hit to begin with. I always thought it was one of those songs that got big over time thanks to usage on video montages, movie trailers, or whatever. Still - wow, yet another reason to prefer this scenario ❤

I bet the “Top 3” for 2009 will be:
1. I Gotta Feeling 2. Boom Boom Pow 3. Poker Face

"I Gotta Feeling" being the biggest song of 2009 would feel so right!

"I Gotta Feeling" being the biggest song of 2009 would feel so right! Agree. Boom Boom Pow didn’t deserve to be the biggest song of 2009. I remember it being big at the time - chart wise and popularity wise -, but it was overshadowed - even back in the days - by the I Gotta Feeling Mania. This is why Boom Boom Pow, nowadays, is remembered to be a “smash hit” put in the corner, when I Gotta Feeling is still played at festivals, parties, celebrations around the world.

So there has been a lot of discussion about the 2009 year end list which is great because it's actually my favorite year of all time. Unfortunately the chart year is one of the hardest and is a mystery I'm still working on decrypting. Thus, for everyone's enjoyment, here's the year nobody has been asking for, 2004!

Songs that made the official list and missed here
Damn - made 2003 Baby Boy - made 2003 Get Low - made 2003 Why Don't You And I - made 2003 Step In The Name Of Love - made 2003 Gigolo - caught Holidae Inn - made 2003 Change Clothes - caught I Go Back - #101
Milkshake making it as a returning song with just 9 weeks is an oddity, especially as high as 68. Its run would be 3-3-3-3-5-7-14-27-35

Yeah on a similar note, 2012 is pretty difficult to get an accurate read on because streaming was added on 3/24, and it’s hard to get an accurate read on what the formula is for that period of time. I’m still hoping to get it out by Saturday, and once I get it, 2011 and 2010 should be pretty easy to get a read on.

Nice. Can you do ones for 2002 (my favorite year of the 2000s) and 2003 next?

That 2004 Year End Chart made me remember that poor Christina Milian girl...

That 2004 Year End Chart made me remember that poor Christina Milian girl... Dip It Low was so great. 🤩 She has writing credits on Jennifer Lopez's "Play" (plus 'backing vocals' on the chorus that really should have been credited as a feature). She also co-wrote the ever-beloved "Baby" by Justin Bieber, and performed the Kim Possible theme song. 😉 She's currently dating a popular French singer and even starred in an adorable Netflix rom-com last year - "Falling Inn Love". I think she's doing pretty well for a forgotten 2000s RnB singer.

I think she's doing pretty well for a forgotten 2000s RnB singer. Wow, I didn’t know about it. I knew she had three babies, if I’m not wrong. I knew about her singing the chorus on Play by Jennifer Lopez (what a mess witnessing JLo lip synching to Christina’s chorus) and writing Baby by Justin Bieber. However, my comment was not intended as an hateful comment against her. I loved Dip It Low at the time (although I was five years old when the song came out, so I didn’t know the actual meaning of it 😂).

However, pretty interested to see the next charts coming!
Curious to see the 2003 one: will Baby Boy overtake Crazy In Love?

Blown Away picked up 3 more weeks and Hard To Love picked up 1
I am very curious about where Rolling In The Deep was. The 2011-2012 chart period was weird because songs at the end of 2011 and the start of 2012 were disadvantaged so it was especially hard for the repeaters that year

I think Rolling In the Deep surely will be #1 in 2011, do you think Tik Tok is going to be the #1 song in 2010?

Also, I just want to say that it always amazes me that one of the best year ends in pop music history also contains one of the worst songs in the history of recorded music.
oh and for what it’s worth, the songs that were disadvantaged on this list will get an advantage on the 2011 list, since 2011 was a 53 week year.
