1. What song will be #1? “Life’s a Dance”
2. What else will join it in the top 5? It’ll probably consist of his bigger hits including “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)”, “Letters From Home”, “I Swear”, and “By My Baby Tonight”. But, I’m really hoping something like “Cover You In Kisses” or “Home to You” sneaks in.
3. What song will be #36 (last place)? “Mad Cowboy Disease” or bust
4. What else will join it in the bottom 5? “Country Thang” and “Goes Good With Beer” seem like contenders to exit early. I’d also have to guess that both “Beer and Bones” and “Hello L.O.V.E.” are likely to be close to the bottom 5. Not sure what else will get lumped in with the bottom 5, but maybe something like “That’s What I Like About You” or "Nothing Catches Jesus By Surprise".
5. What song will be most polarizing? This is hard to guess because I view him to be a rather polarizing artist on Pulse overall, but here goes! Most: I Miss You a Little, I Swear, The Little Girl / Least? Letters From Home or Sold
6. Which #1 song will be out first? Probably either “I Love the Way You Love Me” or “If You’ve Got Love”
6. Any other thoughts/comments/discoveries that you liked? True story: I grew up with an aunt who was as obsessed with John Michael as I am George Strait and went to every Fan Fair in Nashville back in the 90s just for him. They were for sure on a first name basis at some point lol. I first saw him live back in 1993 I think when he opened for Kenny Rogers and again in 1994 when he opened for Reba. I'd of course see him live a few more times thereafter as he was one of the performers on tour with George Strait back when he was doing his Country Music Festival stadium tour. I too had the chance to meet him but not until years later when he performed a show for the troops in Ft. Hood (Randy Travis, Tracy Byrd, Jessica Simpson, and Lynyrd Skynyrd also performed). He was very nice and patient, but it was also quite obvious that he's a very shy person.

And just like that, over half the participants already lose their last place! The low ranks never stopped, not receiving it's first and only top thirty twenty from the very last list. This song is WAAAAY too Trace Adkins for me. |

"Mad Cowboy Disease" has some edge to it, which means I can easily tolerate it. Not something I'd turn off my radio, wouldn't add it to my playlist. Honestly, my top 15 is super solid tho, which is actually a lot more than I thought I'd enjoy here tbh. He has so many clunkers and he's not my fav artist in terms of vocals, but doing this RD helped me realize that he does have several great songs. ETA: Yeah, listening to MCD rn and there's no WAY this is his worst song y'all do this so often. |

Third out is another song from the JMM album Pictures, leaving it with one song left (when I do the 31-37 recap I'll post what albums have what songs still in). LBTrocks remains the only one to give the eliminated song a top twenty ranking.  Congrats to Cody on his perfect ranking! Then I put it in........................ Four-Wheel Drive. Oh wow, we weren't fans of either of these albums were we lol. While "If You Ever Went Away" certainly wasn't deserving of this bottom 5 placement, I can see why it ended up down there as there just didn't seem to be enough support from the top to allow it to escape.

The previous single that it followed, Home To You, even peaked at #2. He only saw the top ten two more times after this single. |

I kinda thought that "That's What I Like About You" would land somewhere at or close to the bottom 5, so this isn't all that surprising. I've actually always kind of liked this song, but more so as an album track as I always wish they would've released either the title track or something like "I Love It All" over it.
