Imagine Dragons have dropped another single this Friday, Wrecked. Fans seem to think its the best they've done since Smoke and Mirrors. Any opinions on it here?

I'm not sure what the strategy is on Kiss Me More anymore, but it's now discounted on iTunes. I can't help but to think that Doja would have had an easier time getting the #1 if she released the album this week instead. Then again, KMM's points last week would have been enough to secure a #1 during the week of the Levitating/LTDO fiasco.

I have never felt like "Kiss Me More" had a clear path to #1. This is gonna be it's peak week at radio, so the discount makes sense. But it ain't gonna come close to #1.

If the law of diminishing returns is in effect here, this will probably debut just barely above the top 40. This era is such an unexciting mess (the worst kind of mess), I dunno why they're making it worse by releasing all these flop singles.

Itβll have to be catchy or something different. I feel like having two songs in a row that didnβt really get a good response from a hit perspective, fewer people are going to be checking for the next one. But if it wins over the people who are still on board enough for them to generate some word of mouth, there might still be a chance. But this single I think is her last opportunity to get that hit before the album drops and the odds are against her.

This summer ending up more boring than last summer. Wow. I really expecting a big push to get a bunch of summer songs out and prep new eras since many acts will likely tour in 2022.

Everything is coming and going lately except for Olivia and Doja. They're really carrying this summer on their backs. Thot s**t has potential, but I wouldn't say it has crossed into smash territory yet. We'll see what happens with Bad Habits.

I thought last summer was one of the most busy summers for the charts in recent memory, we had 5 different number ones, like three album bombs, it was definitely interesting. Edit: As well as many top 10 debuts.

I hope this single takes off for Billie. Seems like her label is doing all they can to give it the best chance of doing so.

The Billie single needs to be really good. Interest is still there, but this is her last chance to land a hit before the album drops, and the public's hype is shrinking with each flop.
Album #3 needs some creative shake (i.e. time to part ways with FINNEAS).

Why can't we get another song like Ocean Eyes from her, radio would eat up a song like that today.

Gotta admire interscope's hustle. They're giving every single the extensive promo treatment despite em bombing

Billie needs to work with new producers. Finneas is a great producer but to be able to maintain longevity and success is to create new sounds and work with different people. It's just not giving anything new with Finneas anymore at this point.

Album #3 needs some creative shake (i.e. time to part ways with FINNEAS). At this point I wonder if it just would be better to drop the album and let the fans pick the most compelling single.

$50 bucks says this is disposable trash 100 bucks says your goofy ass is trashin another artist's work without even listening it again π Everything I've heard from jxdn (Angels & Demons, la di die) I have not liked at all so the chances I enjoy a whole album of this is less than 30%. Am I not going to listen to it? Yes. But have I've also been giving chances and listening to more interesting emo and pop rock acts who don't have the industry support jxdn has? Absolutely. Think of it this way: say you were given the choice to watch a movie - when that looks mediocre looking and one that looks interesting. You might watch the mediocre one down the line but you're going to want to seek out the one that looks interesting first. The same goes for albums. I give most project 3-4 listens on average, around 2 hours just like a standard movie runtime. So before you jump on my throat for not giving things a chance, maybe give these a chance before you come at me for not caring about a tiktoker making mediocre music. {Albums I gave chances to} I Became Birds by Home is Where (midwest emo) GAMI GANG by Origami Angel (emo pop rock) ε€θ‘η§ε― (Secret de nuit) by indigo la End (japanese math rock) I Want to Live My Life by Stars Holow (midwest screamo) Clothbound by The Sonder Bombs (indie pop rock) The Million Masks of God by Manchester Orchestra (alternative rock) Perfect by Mannequin Pussy (indie rock, hardcore punk) Doomin' Sun by Bachelor (indie rock) Blame Game by Beach Bunny (pop rock) PARANOIA by Maggie Lindemann (pop punk) Earth is a Black Hole by Teenage Wrist (alt rock) Little Oblivions by Julien Baker (alt rock) Blue Weekend by Wolf Alice (alt rock) Modern Grotesque by Dreamwell (post-hardcore) New Age Filth by Hail the Sun (post-hardcore) ERRA by ERRA (metalcore) Btw, all of these projects came out this year

Really, did anybody expect Your Power or Lost Cause to be hits? I appreciate the idea of putting Your Power out. Even though it wasnβt particularly catchy, it was different (in its tempo) and I generally like risks and unpredictability. Lost Cause was confusing because Your Power showed little sign of picking up after its initial release. I listened to Your Cause maybe twice and donβt remember it (or Your Power, for that matter) so I didnβt feel compelled to revisit either. Edit: to clarify, I donβt think songs need to be pop friendly or made for radio to be good or even to attempt to make it a hit. Thatβs why I appreciate Your Power as a lead single.

Really, did anybody expect Your Power or Lost Cause to be hits? Clearly her label or they wouldnβt have been directly preceding the album release. Itβs kinda scary if thatβs possibly the best hit potential they heard from that album (and if those are supposed to be highlights in general).

Not sure what label sends a song to 3+ formats just because. βLost Causeβ also sure as hell ainβt an artistic statement.

I get there's pressure and concern to avoid a sophomore slump but Billie isn't the only artist this has happened to. Gaga has had a bunch of hits and singles that never took off. Just look at how many longterm hits ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica all had collectively. And she's still successful because she has a good following and still garnered acclaim and critical attention even when the albums underperformed. Billie will still have a following and has acclaim other pop acts don't have. She still sold out her global tour in less than a day. She will be fine, especially if she's going to transition into more alternative scene.

This month is going to be really dry music-wise (like, I guess BTS will continue their streak here thanks to their fans and Olivia on the BB200) and I think Cardi will wait till august for her next single. I wish Drake, Rihanna or another big artist dropped an album out of nowhere

Personally I feel that Billie Eilish is starting to suffer from overexposure, In other words I'm thinking that the listeners just want to hear something completely different from her that they haven't already heard before. Whether that be releasing a Power ballad driven love song or i'll even go as far as to say that releasing a Guitar driven Rock song wouldn't be a bad idea. I think that could really keep the listeners interested.
