MONTERO was AMAZING. Lil Nas X really showed his range in the album. And it's a fairly short album, compared to DONDA or CLB, so it's a plus
MONTERO is a 9 from me.

That’s What I Want may be my favorite Lil Nas X video, it may not drive controversy or have a particularly big budget, but it is genuinely great.

I'm skeptical either LNX song makes it. The new song was fine, but CMBYN and IB were way better. And the video didn't have the same wow factor, for me at least. IB has a better shot, but 120 points is a lot to make up.

Loved all of Montero. "Sun Goes Down" and "Void" though are the best moments of the album for me. He does a really great of delivering emotion on both of those records and they've been resonating with me a lot. "Void" is already a part of my main playlist and will be a song I'll have on repeat for a while.

Montero is an okay album. Really nice, easy listen. Definitely one of the best-produced albums of the year. Except for Jack Harlow, all the other features were pretty unnecessary and underwhelming. I can see myself letting it play in the background while I do some housekeeping this weekend. Unfortunately (or maybe not), the best songs off the album have already been pushed as singles. I was going to say That's What I Want was the only other song I heard with single potential but then I saw that it's already being pushed (great video, btw).
It should have some legs (and hopefully it does) but I also wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. Save for the singles, there are only about 2/3 songs that stuck out for me and I'm sure I'll revisit.
Hope the album and songs off it have a huge splash on the charts and I wish him all the success in the world.

I wonder if "Meet Me At Our Spot" will debut. Its streaming was already strong on Spotify & AM, and getting on TTH will boost it even more.
