Since when is cardi b gay Cardi B is openly bi and i interpretted the question to be about LGBT artists debuting at the top, which is why I included her. Oh and for the list, I only included artists who've publicly said their queer which is why Harry Styles and others aren't there because they haven't publicly said they're queer and even if it's heavily implied, I'm not comfortable including someone as being an LGBT artist if they haven't given a public statement. I don't want to jump.

To add to this conversation, Sir Elton John is of course an openly gay man and has been for many years now. It's pretty crazy how he hasn't had a studio album of his hit #1 on the Billboard 200 since 1976 especially considering that in the span of just four year 1972 - 1975 all six of his studio albums that he released during those years all hit #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

So far the montero album seems to rly have an underwhelming start on apple music. WIll assume it'll be much bigger on spotify, but i'm not so sure it'll be enough to top drake, who still occupies the entire top 10 of AM, and 19 out of the top 22 songs. His pure sales will have to be pretty big to outpace the streaming lead CLB has.

The degree Lil Nas X leads openly with his sexuality and the way he reflects it in his visuals and art is a form of empowering representation I haven't really seen from any other "mainstream" gay artist personally. He is truly breaking down barriers in a different way than others who came before him. I love to see it and would love to see him hit the top with his debut, which is just an all around great/solid body of work! It's not only nice to see an artist come out, but truly embrace and explore his sexuality so unapologetically, proudly, and openly. gay is an umbrella term, the same way queer is I think it is but I’ve seen “queer” or “lgbtq+” used more as the umbrella term and “gay” used less in that and sense and more specifically for gay men. So if someone asks about “gay artists,” my assumption is always going to be, they’re talking about gay men, unless specified otherwise. Maybe the implication varies depending on location, age range, or whatever.

I could see Wildest Dreams TV debuting top 10. Love Story TV just missed and Wildest Dreams has more of an impetus (ie it's already getting just shy of a million streams a day on Spotify, and even with the Love Story hype Love Story OG wasn't close to that the day before Love Story TV dropped). I guess we'll have to wait and see what Spotify numbers are, but I wouldn't be surprised if it edges out Industry Baby for the Spotify Number One tomorrow (and then it'll hemorrhage listeners, but Love Story TV got almost 4m on its first day and I could see Wildest dreams doing around 3)

I wonder how it'll do compared to Love Story TV. Probably better because of its current tiktok momentum

Love Story TV numbers dropped quite a lot on second day though so maybe that also applies hourly - ie significantly fewer streams in its first 4 hours than its last 4 hours of the day? I can see it debuting with around 6m WW though. Probably a smaller drop than Love Story TV on second day due to more GP driven streams thanks to Tik Tok + only partial day streams (9am release). edit: nvm just remembered Spotify tracking ends at 7pm EST. Should be more like 3.8m debut then, but probably an increase on day 2.

Wildest Dreams OG peaked at 5, the dream would be for Wildest Dreams TV to peak at 4 or better

Kworb's AM chart is a bit delayed compared to the one on the AM app, the album has 6 songs in the top 40 now and life after salem is the lowest song at #117.

If Taylor outdebuts Lil Nas on his album release day..... It won't be as monumental as OTR blocking Me but man it would be a sight

It’s still Drake vs Kanye season out here but its not Nas X’s fault because he did announce it before Donda was surprise dropped. It is kinda sad that him and Halsey had their albums planned in advance to smash only for Hip Hop’s 2 biggest superstars to drop and also have a beef to fuel both albums.

Hmm expected it to do a bit better but I guess he doesn't have the AM fanbase yet. Honestly I wasn’t expecting Lil Nas X to be that dominant. His album will likely perform similar to how Doja Cat’s album is. He is a singles artist, so there will be several songs that will have longevity and stick around for a while. It seems like he picked the right next single for sure with “That’s What I Want.” The focus this week should be for them to push “Industry Baby” to #1 on the Hot 100.

It looks like they're going to push That's What I Want after Industry Baby which means we might get another pop-punk hit. It's not pop-punk
