It seems that Elton John might have two songs on the Hot 100 with the Duo Lipa remix and the Lil Nas X collaboration. Kinda wild that Elton John had a 21 year gap between songs charting on the Hot 100, and now only 5 weeks later he’s (probably) about to have another one.

Folks, this is why you should always include screenshots of tweets you embed, lol Not necessarily. All I needed was to change the tweet location to the revised one. And I'm sure by now, people should know where to look for the information. It's just general advice, man, don't get it twisted I didn't know the original tweet was projections that they edited--I don't assume every tweet by a person will be the same as things they've tweeted before.

Out of all the developments of 2020s pop music, one of the most quietly surprising developments has been Elton John becoming a notable presence in pop music again. His collars with Dua, Gaga, Lil Nas X have all been notable moments especially with Dua and Nas’s actually charting, plus he’s worked with Charlie Puth, Rina Sawayama, etc. Not to mention his radio show has had him praising tons of younger artists. It’s rlly cool to see such a veteran of the industry supporting the newer acts

Does anyone have a full list of every song to peak at #2 for multiple weeks behind 2 (or more) different songs? I know there's Need You Now and Lights. “I’m Not In Love” by 10cc is another one. Got stuck at #2 for 3 weeks in 1975 behind 3 different songs! (Van McCoy’s “The Hustle”, the Eagles’ “One of These Nights” and the Bee Gees “Jive Talkin’”)

I’m thrilled Elton is making a comeback, especially since I’ve loved him since I was a child, but he’s also supporting young, queer artists and their artistic vision.
I hope at least one song from this new era hits the top 40.

Billboard Top 10 from 25 years ago: October 5, 199601 01 Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix) - Los Del Rio (10th of 14 weeks at #1)02 02 I Love You Always Forever - Donna Lewis 03 03 It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Celine Dion 04 04 Twisted - Keith Sweat 05 05 C'mon N Ride It (The Train) - The Quad City DJ's 06 06 Change The World - Eric Clapton 07 09 Where Do You Go - No Mercy 08 07 Loungin' - LL Cool J (feat. Total) 09 11 How Do U Want It / California Love - 2Pac feat. K-Ci & JoJo 10 08 You're Makin' Me High / Let It Flow - Toni Braxton 21 47 Bow Down - Westside Connection The top 10 from the week I was born. Never been a big "Macarena" fan (I like the beat and the hook but the verses annoy me) and ILYAF is an eternal snoozefest but the rest of the top 10 are all great! Bow Down bangs too.

He said he used to go to Tower Records etc and buy all the new releases each week.

It’s currently available as a preview track to Elton‘s upcoming “The Lockdown Sessions” collab album.

It seems that Elton John might have two songs on the Hot 100 with the Duo Lipa remix and the Lil Nas X collaboration. I know "Duo Lipa" is an honest spell check error but it's always been funny to me how many ways Dua Lipa's name can get butchered. My spell check used to correct her name to "Dual Lips," Wendy Williams once called her "Dula Peep" and honestly thought that was her name and my aunt called her "Doula" and wondered why such a young singer would use that as a stage name. I remember thinking Dua Lipa was just an interesting stage name. Imagine how surprised I was when I found out that it was her actual birth name (and a beautiful one at that seeing as it apparently translates to "love" in Albanian). I know she's had to deal with people mispronouncing/misspelling her name for most if not all her life lol. I had the same reaction to Billie Eilish's name. I thought it was an interesting choice for a stage name and then I visit her Wikipedia page and see that it's her actual birth name and I'm like "huh? Who names their kid Billie Eilish?" My spell check used to correct her name to "Billion Eyelashes". It's also interesting to me that some people still don't know that Jamie Foxx isn't the actor's birth name or that Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore aren't the birth names of both actresses lol.

I'm kinda bewildered by the performance of Oliver Tree's "Life Goes On" and how its barreled its way into the Top 20 of the global spotify chart despite making little noise.

For like the first two years of my awareness of Dua Lipa’s existence, every time I saw her name in print, I’d read it as “Dupa Lupa”- and not in a mocking way either— my brain literally processed it that way.

In English, "dual" means to have two parts or components. "IPA" means a style of beer made with extra hops.
So Dua Lipa could loosely translate into "multiple components of extra hoppy beer," and I think that's beautiful.

Three songs in the top 10 is a success, don't let any (straight) person tell you otherwise. Especially since THATS WHAT I WANT is a Top 10 hit.

This is exactly the same fate good 4 u would’ve faced had she released it on her own album week instead of the week before when J Cole had his week. But regardless Lil Nas X having 3 songs in the top 10 is still amazing and hopefully puts all the “one hit wonder” and “he’s not an A lister” statements to bed.
