What Time Is It > Butter You can't change my mind.
Also dying at the fact that What Time Is It was released as a physical single. Why?!?!

It's weird to me that Billboard made two separate charts for physical singles and digital singles and never thought to combine them and have 1 chart tracking song sales.
You combine physical and digital albums.

You combine physical and digital albums. It's probably because it would have just looked like the digital sales chart with one or two positions swapped every once in a blue moon. Physical sales for singles was in an even worse position in 2005 than digital single sales are today. Weren't there times when the #1 in single sales wasn't even 1k?

Obviously physical sales for songs were already on a deathbed by then, but for historical purposes it's weird that sales accomplishments for songs are just entirely separated between two charts. Mariah/Madonna/etc had #1's on Hot 100 Sales era (physical sales chart) and Hot Digital Songs era (digital sales chart). They should be combined together when referencing their career #1s on the song sales chart, but that's not the case since it's two different charts. Candle in the Wind being the fastest selling song of the Soundscan era is also overlooked because Billboard is usually always referencing the highest sellers on the digital chart. Billboard also only provides digital sales when listing an artists best-selling songs, by contrast, UK's Official Charts combines physical+digital which would be logical. We didn't magically start seperating digital/physical album sales and counting them apart so I never understood why they decided to do that for songs.

EDIT- some chart facts: Olivia's "SOUR" is the first female album to score at least 4 top 10s since Taylor's "1989". Weeknd's "After Hours" is the first album with at least 3 top 10s that are all #1s since Adele's "21". It's crazy looking at this list and not seeing Views make an appearance. Hotline Bling and One Dance were two of the biggest, most impactful hit records of the last decade (and of Drake's career) and he had at least 2 more songs on that album that could have easily made the top 10 (Controlla & Too Good w/ Rihanna) but him/his team were just so lazy/terrible with how they handled pushing singles from that album. It's still blows my mind that the only songs that got music videos were Hotline Bling and Child's Play. SMH. As big a fan as I am, Drake is very lucky he has fans as dedicated to supporting his music because he's been far too lazy with promoting his own stuff throughout his entire career. He's been spoiled by fans in a lot of ways and he knows that whatever he drops will do well to some degree so he doesn't even bother with properly pushing stuff most times. That's cute for a while but after sometime, it gets annoying seeing other artists actually perform songs at award shows/late night TV spots/do interviews, etc and then looking to your fave for some of that and never getting anything. Anyways, great work compiling the lists for both decades. Maybe make a thread for it so it can easily be looked up? I wonder how many albums managed at least 3 top 10 hits in older decades.

I can't imagine there would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth if Olivia made another single from Sour, even as the last one.

"I Do" got 5 weeks. "Drip" was a pre-album promo single. "Feeling Myself" was indeed not sent for adds at any radio format, making it the longest-running album cut with 20 weeks. "Sex With Me" does have 15 weeks under its belt despite peaking at No. 83, so that should secure runner-up.

I think the feat is that ALL top ten hits from both 21 and After Hours effectively managed to hit No. 1. although one caveat with After Hours is that its third No. 1 "Save Your Tears" (remix with Ariana Grande) does not technically appear on the album (yet). maybe they'll remember to tack it on someday. "Where Are Ü Now" peaked at No. 8. Scorpion has plenty of Top 10 hits that didn't go number-one, since it dominated the Top 10 during release week.

no. Not all of the singles from After Hours or 21 didn’t go to 1 either, In Your Eyes never went to 1 as well as Rumour Has It. Where Are Ü Now wasn’t a single off of Purpose. no one said anything about all singles going number-one? all of the Top 10 hits from 21 and After Hours went #1. reading comprehension is 🔑 "Where Are Ü Now" appears on Purpose. Track 11.

Bad Bhabie debuted at #8 with Miss Understood. I wasn't even aware she had a new song out.

First off, my bad and I never said it wasn’t on Purpose, I said I wasn’t a single off of Purpose which it wasn’t. Reading comprehension is 🔑 lol. "Where Are Ü Now" is a Top 10 single that didn't go number one. and it is on Purpose. therefore disqualifying it from what the original poster was saying.
