The version of Soft Cell's Tainted Love that I hear the most on the radio is a medley of that song and their cover of Where Did Our Love Go, but I don't know if that version was popular during the song's original run and was credited and/or charted separately.

A couple of personal favorite medley songs that charted on the Hot 100 that were sung by one single artist: Just A Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody by David Lee Roth (#12 peak in 1985) and Power Of Love / Love Power by Luther Vandross (#4 peak in 1991). Other memorable "Medley" songs: Empire Strikes Back (Medley) by Meco (#18 peak in 1980), The Beach Boys Medley (#12 peak in 1981) and The Beatles Movie Medley (#12 peak in 1982). Then there's the all-musical Hooked on Classics (#10 peak in 1982).

The 'Stars on 45' assemblage had a few more chart hits (one a tribute to Stevie Wonder) and then the above-mentioned medley hits from the Beatles, Beach Boys, and even the London Philharmonic Orchestra ("Hooked On Classics"). An Elvis medley sputtered out at no.71 and that was kinda the end of the trend. I love when odd things like that have a moment in the chart sun though!

Both versions got airplay. The medley was, I believe, on the 12" single, while the 7" single had "Tainted Love" on the A-side and "Where Did Our Love Go" on the B-side. At least where I was the medley got more airplay; although as I recall there was a shorter and longer version of the medley, the latter with a longer "WDOLG".

Wats the force behind Cold Heart? Radio? Kind of everything. It's #4 and #85 on iTunes, #187 on Apple Music, #37 on Spotify, #6 on Amazon, #22 on pop airplay, #14 on hot AC airplay, and #7 on AC airplay. Really turning into a sleeper hit that I really don't think anyone expected! The stat that particularly surprises me are the Amazon streams. #6?! Also, re: mashups charting. Not sure if it's been brought up yet and I don't even know if it hit the Hot 100 at all, but I remember the Linkin Park/Jay-Z "Numb/Encore" track was pretty popular. I would put money on it too that a few of those DJ Earworm year end mashups would have charted had they been able to. 2009 and 2010 in particular were pretty strong on YouTube at the time and even made the top 50 on pop airplay. Unfortunately, they lost a lot of their appeal and streaming strength after YouTube began being counted for the Hot 100. But to be fair, I'm not sure if Billboard would have even counted it anyway.

I just checked Pandora Top Spins Chart for the first time in quite a few months and I expected, Fancy Like is #1 and has been #1 for seven out of the last eight weeks there. Cold Heart is #19, up 68 places for the chart dated today.
Also, it turns out that NextBigSound is shutting down on November 1st.

This predates me joining Pulse and starting to follow radio charts, so I'm truly shocked to find out DJ Earworm made the Top 50 on pop radio on FIVE occasions: the mashups for 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014 all spent at least a week in the MediaBase Top 50. I didn't even realize that was a possibility. I'm happy about it though, I LOVED those mashups back then. I'd unfortunately consider them a niche relic of the early 2010's these days.

I remember when the 2009 one first showed up on the Spincrease and I think everyone here at the time was like "...wait wut" and then it actually hit the top 50 and so many of us were rooting for it just because of how bizarre that was. I think the 2010 one charted better, though, if memory serves me correctly. And yeah, they're definitely a very niche relic of a very short time period, and I blame that on both the sharp drop of quality in his work, the oversaturation of copycats soon after, and labels just making it more difficult to create mashups because greed. Edit: lol not me saying "both" and then listing 3 things

If we're talking about mashups/medleys, Pitch Perfect songs also charted on Hot 100.
"Bellas Finals: Price Tag/Don't You (Forget About Me)/Give Me Everything" peaked at #85
"Riff Off: Ladies of the '80s (Mickey/Like a Virgin/Hit Me with Your Best Shot/It Must Have Been Love), Songs About Sex (S&M/Let's Talk About Sex/I'll Make Love to You/Feels Like the First Time/No Diggity)" peaked at #86
And also too many too mention, Glee Cast also charted some medleys on Hot 100.

off topic but why does your signature say that? I mean that's a week from now and that doesn't seem to me like anything that would happen Because I’m sick of Butter and Stay being #1 for the past 20 weeks. It’s time we get something new, like Industry Baby or Fancy Like. If not, I’m just glad Adele is releasing on Friday. oh I get you it's just I thought you'd make it something more realistic cause like I don't see that song getting any higher yknow

Surprised nobody's mentioned Robert Palmer's mashup of "Mercy Mercy Me/I Want You", which hit #16 on the Hot 100.

Enigma. we aren't mind readers, so you could just as well explain why it's f**ked up. Few number of female acts? Glee's number of entries? Way too heavily slanted towards today’s acts. The only old time act was Elvis Presley. You know things are messed up when The Beatles, widely regarded as the greatest musical act of all-time, is not on the list.

The only old time act was Elvis Presley. You know things are messed up when The Beatles, widely regarded as the greatest musical act of all-time, is not on the list. That's no ones fault but Billboard and how the industry was at the time. Of course things are easier for newer acts to chart than it was when The Beatles were around: deep cuts, viral success, and non-singles being a hits weren't thinkable 50 years ago. We can't retroactively give The Beatles more top 10 hits anymore that we should be taking away hits from newer acts just because "they don't have the legacy of The Beatles". And besides, The Beatles still hold the record for most number one singles by a band. I highly doubt Paul McCartney or Ringo are mad Drake, Lil Wayne, and other acts have more Top 10 hits. Their albums are still some of the most popular and best selling albums of all time. It's just chart stuff jeez. Go outside and touch grass jfc, you clearly need to.

The #of Hot 100 entries list being slanted towards today's acts is what it is. Not Billboard's fault, the list is a product of changing markets over time and improved technology.
It makes sense that it features current acts predominantly. Those acts accumulated fast numbers by charting entire album tracks all at once. Not something available in the 60s 70s and 80s
It is not screwed up just because the Beatles are not listed. Just another example of needing context when you are comparing across eras

It'll be kinda wild if Butter spends 10 weeks at #1 and then leaves after 20 weeks As of now, I’m doubting that will happen - we all saw what happened with Dynamite - but the fact that it fizzled out even faster despite staying on top for longer is kinda mind-boggling.

The closest example I can think of is Lose Yourself, which spent 12 weeks at #1 but 23 weeks on the charts overall.

Nardo Wick’s “Who Want Smoke” is probably gonna get a very nice debut. Strong on Spotify/AM/YouTube.
