"Rumor Has It" was released in November 1990 as the second single and title track from Reba McEntire's sixteenth album and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks in early 1991. This song had a rather fluctuating journey, starting with George Strait Junkie ranking it at its lowest position right from the beginning. However, it quickly jumped into the top 25 thanks to a top 5 ranking from someguy. This high position didn't last long, as it slipped back outside of the top 40, where it mostly lingered until the middle part of its run. Then, a single bottom 20 ranking from nuggie99 pushed it outside of the top half altogether. Just when things were looking bleak, a #1 ranking from bboat11 breathed new life into its run, helping it regain its footing inside the top 40. Unfortunately, it once again fell outside of the top 40 due to a bottom 30 ranking from gardyfan. Fortunately, towards the end of the game, some fellow supporters came to its rescue, and it began to slowly inch its way back up before reaching its highest peak position in the final moments. This turnaround can be attributed to a near top 10 from Cody Wants Out... and a pair of top 5 rankings from both .indulgecountry and taylor is terrified.

"I'm That Kind of Girl" was released in January 1991 as the third single from Patty Loveless' fourth studio album, On Down the Line, and went on to become her seventh top 5 country hit. This song experienced its lowest and highest positions right from the start, managing to break into the top 10 for its one and only appearance in that tier. Remarkably, it maintained a position within the top 30 throughout its run, thanks to the support of fourteen participants who included it in their top half. Among these rankings, there was a top 10 from someguy, a top 5 from LBTrocks, and a #1 ranking from .indulgecountry who is now the third participant in a row and the fourth overall to lose their top-ranked song.

Any guesses as to what two songs will miss the top 15?! Stay tuned to find out! Well, let me venture a guess and make my own predictions, as if I weren't hosting and had no knowledge of the results . I would have probably guessed that "Anymore" and "Hurt Me Bad (In a Real Good Way)" would be the two likely songs to depart before reaching the top 15. Let's see if my prediction would've been correct!

Stats for #17:
The next song to exit actually spent most of its time within the top 15 and even was an early top 10 contender. However, a second bottom 20 ranking created just enough of a gap between it and the songs that remained ahead.

"The Thunder Rolls" was released in April 1991 as the fourth and final single from Garth Brooks' second album, No Fences, and it marked his sixth number one hit on the country charts. Interestingly, the song was initially recorded by Tanya Tucker but remained unreleased until 1995 when it was included in her self-titled box set. Her version featured a fourth verse that alluded to infidelity and spousal murder, a portion of the song that Brooks would occasionally perform during his concerts. While it started outside of the top 40, this song made a significant leap, coming just shy of the top 10, primarily due to a near top 5 ranking from someguy. It maintained its status as a top 10 contender until the midsection of the rankdown. Even after receiving its first bottom 20 ranking from 🌺CountryLineDancer, it held its ground as a strong top 15 contender, with three top 5 rankings from bigd79, @nathanlbright, and castleoblivion26. It was only when a near bottom 10 ranking from .indulgecountry came into play that it found itself falling outside the top 20 once more. Despite a closing #1 ranking from LBTrocks, the song couldn't regain its position, as the gap between it and the songs ahead had become too substantial.

While I'm not entirely surprised, I'm still disappointed that "The Thunder Rolls" couldn't secure a place in the top 15, let alone the top 10. It's undeniably one of the most iconic songs from that year and unquestionably deserved a spot in the top 10.

"You've Got to Stand for Something" was released in October 1990 as the debut single from Aaron Tippin and was the title track to his first album You've Got to Stand for Something. The song would also go on to become his first top 10 country hit. Despite initially reaching a low peak position, once this song entered the top 20, it maintained a steady presence and lingered in or around the top 10 during the latter half of the ranking. It appeared to be on the verge of making it into the top 15. Unfortunately, a single and somewhat divisive bottom 10 ranking from taylor is terrified knocked it out of the top 15 just as the rankdown was nearing its conclusion. Given that it fell just one point short of the top 15, I can't help but regret not ranking it higher, as in hindsight, it clearly deserved a place within my top 25, if not higher.

Aw, "You've Got to Stand for Something" could've lasted a few more reveals, but it did well regardless. Great way to break through in the industry, Aaron.

I've had the pleasure of meeting a few country artists, and I must say, he is one of the most genuinely nice individuals. This encounter took place at a county fair in Nebraska. I attended with a friend who uses a wheelchair due to a handicap, and little did we know that he had taken notice. As the show came to a close, his road manager approached us out of the blue and asked if we'd like to go backstage to meet Aaron. Needless to say, my friend was ecstatic, and Aaron couldn't have been any kinder.

Both times he was very nice. Definitely one of the nicest artists I’ve ever met.

We don't have enough female-led songs left as it is so I hope tf not. 🚮🚮🚮 It's past time for Travis Tritt to bow out imo. Could stand to lose "You Know Me Better Than That" which is... fine, but it's definitely overstayed.

This was right after my sisters fire and she was in a wheelchair and were approached by one of his crew to meet him. It was a great experience. Aaron was really nice.

"Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" was released in May 1991 as the lead-off single to Travis Tritt's sophomore album, It's All About to Change, and peaked at number 2 on the country charts that summer. This leaves "Anymore as his last remaining song in contention. As previously mentioned, this marks not only the first song to depart while maintaining a top 15 position throughout its journey but also our initial #1 contender to bid adieu. Remarkably, it held a place within the top 10 for the first half of its tenure, with every participant placing it within their upper half during that period. However, a shift occurred midway through the rankdown when consecutive bottom 20 rankings from 🌺CountryLineDancer and castleoblivion26 nudged it toward the back of the top 15. Nevertheless, it clung to its position until the end, thanks to a third top 10 ranking from Kanenrá:ke.

"Anymore" was released in September 1991 as the second single from Travis Tritt's sophomore album, It's All About to Change, and became his second number-one country hit. It's past time for Travis Tritt to bow out imo. And here we have back-to-back departures for Travis Tritt, with "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" exiting just prior to this song. Interestingly, it was "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" that emerged as the stronger contender of the two, while "Anymore" only reached its peak position within the top 15 as the rankdown was drawing to a close. This outcome mirrors the results from the artist rankdown which yours truly hosted a couple of years ago, where "Anymore" secured the runner-up position, while "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" bid farewell just inside the top 5. While the latter accumulated a pair of bottom 20 rankings, "Anymore" received only a single bottom 30 ranking with the majority of the group positioning it within their top 30. Notably, this song received a pair of top 10 rankings from CoJoFan and bboat11, along with a perfect top 15 ranking from sabre14.

Wow. I was really hoping that Travis Tritt would have at least one song in the top ten, but I did anticipate that one could very well leave soon.
