Stats for #13:
The next to exit is bound to ruffle some feathers as only three participants in all slotted this outside of their top half. Of those, they all happened to be bottom 20s.

"Down at the Twist and Shout" was released in June 1991 as the third single from Mary Chapin Carpenter's third studio album, Shooting Straight in the Dark. The song reached number 2 on the country charts becoming her first top 5 hit. The song would go on to win Carpenter a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance the following year. We don't have enough female-led songs left as it is so I hope tf not. 🚮🚮🚮 Unfortunately we are down one of the few that are left remaining which is sure to be disappointing for some, especially considering that it consistently ranked in the top 10 for much of its duration. In fact, it came very close to breaking into the top 5 on a few occasions, thanks in part to nearly everyone in the group including it in their top 40. It wasn't until the final quarter of the rankdown that both CoJoFan and LBTrocks joined nuggie99 in giving it bottom 30 rankings, effectively pushing it out of the top 10 in the final moments.

Any guesses as to what two songs will miss the top 10? Speaking of that, let the top 10 predictions commence as I intend to conclude everything tomorrow evening with the grand finale!

I love Strait and I love "You Know Me Better Than That," but I'm lowkey shocked it has stayed until the top 12 lol.

I'm rooting for "You Know Me Better Than That" and "Brother Jukebox" to be the next two to bow out. Love both but the others are much stronger

I'm fairly certain "You Know Me Better Than That" is on lots of borrowed time (even though it's as cute as a speckled pup!). As for what else misses the top ten, I fear that "Don't Tell Me What to Do", "Meet in the Middle", or "Fancy" may be in trouble.

"The Thunder Rolls" is one of the greatest country songs of all-time and one of my personal favorites. I knew when we got to this year, it would 100% be my #1. I'd prefer if someone else sang it, but it is what it is lol. It deserved top 10 but I should just be grateful it made top 20.
So glad "Down At The Twist And Shout" missed top 10. Such an annoying song. I really don't care for cajun music much at all.

Good Sunday afternoon, Tractors! Who's ready to discover your top 10 songs of the year? Let's not delay any longer and dive right in. Interestingly, both of the songs that didn't make the top 10 are tied in points, with each of them being someone's favorite, earning a runner-up spot. However, the tie-breaker favored the song that had received two runner-up rankings!

The following song, ironically, started at its lowest point right from the beginning, only to reach to its highest rank in the final moments of the rankdown. Three participants lose a top 10 spot, with one of them even losing their runner-up position.

"Hurt Me Bad (In a Real Good Way)" was released in September 1991 as the first single from Patty Loveless' fifth studio album, Up Against My Hear, and became her seventh top 5 country hit peaking at #3 on the country charts. While this song didn't secure a spot in the top 10 of the rankdown, it consistently remained a strong contender in the top 15. Its highest peak position was achieved in the final moments, primarily due to a near top 10 ranking from LBTrocks. The song was well-received from across the board, with the majority placing it inside their top 40 and the rest positioning it at or very near the top half of their lists. Notably, three participants included this song in their top 10, with taylor is terrified ranking it in their top 5, followed by Cody Wants Out..., who designated it as his runner-up for his top spot. As mentioned earlier, this song shares the same number of points with the following track, which happened to receive a second runner-up position. This second runner-up position served as the deciding tiebreaker.

Stats for #11:
Tied in points with the previous song, this track proved to be more polarizing, as it received both a lone bottom 10 and a bottom 30 ranking. In contrast, it also secured five top 10 rankings, with two of those being runner-up positions, ultimately serving as the decisive factor in the tiebreaker.
Best rankdown position: 9 Worst rankdown position: 33 Average: 29.67 SD Rank: 37th Highest

"Brother Jukebox" was released in November 1990 as the second single form Mark Chesnutt's debut studio album, Too Cold at Home, and went on became his first #1 country hit. The song was originally recorded by Don Everly, one-half of The Everly Brothers, in 1977. It was later covered by Keith Whitley for his posthumously released album I Wonder Do You Think of Me. Tied in points with "Hurt Me Bad (In a Real Good Way)," both songs received a runner-up position. However, the tiebreaker favored this song, as it also secured a second runner-up spot, with one of those belonging to yours truly, and another from nuggie99, while sabre14 placed it in his top 5. It's worth noting that this song was the more polarizing of the two, having received one bottom 30 ranking and a sole bottom 10 ranking from nathanalbright. Despite this, the majority of the group still positioned this track within their top 40 or even in the top 30.

Any surprises or disappointments in the rankings? It certainly is male-dominated, with only Pam's "Don't Tell Me What to Do", Reba's "Fancy", Trisha's "She's in Love with the Boy" being the three female artists to secure a top 10 position. Additionally, it may come as a surprise to see George Strait notching not one, but two top 10 spots, with "You Know Me Better Than That." Following that, Alan Jackson also managed to secure two more of those coveted top 10 positions.
Let the top 10 predictions officially commence, y'all!

1. She's in Love with the Boy 2. Don't Rock the Jukebox 3. If I Know Me 4. Small Town Saturday Night 5. Brand New Man 6. Chasin' That Neon Rainbow 7. Fancy 8. Don't Tell Me What to Do 9. Meet in the Middle 10. You Know Me Better Than That
The only thing I'm comfortably certain about is #1; I think "Fancy" will end up missing the top three and perhaps the top five. Diamond Rio, "Don't Tell Me What to Do", and "You Know Me Better Than That" are probably gonna leave very soon, and I can see "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow" and "Small Town Saturday Night" as competition for the top three perhaps, or even top two. Brooks & Dunn might fizzle out around the top five. That would leave "If I Know Me" and "Don't Rock the Jukebox" duking it out for the runner-up spot potentially.

Much like Aaron Tippin I wasn't sure how Hal Ketchum would do so it is great to see him make the top 10.

1, 2, 4, 5, 18, 21, 50, 56, 78, 84.
I'm pleasantly surprised that my #2 is still around, and unpleasantly surprised that #78 is still around. I have to admit that #84 might stay for a while, maybe to the top 5, even with my ranking.

1, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 39, 89.
Quite a stout top 10, glad to see name ID didn't hurt Hal Ketchum, as his song certainly belongs in this group. Feels like 4 or 5 different songs could take this (as long as it's not my #89 I'll be happy), but here's my best guess:
10. You Know Me Better Than That 9. Don't Tell Me What To Do 8. Meet In The Middle 7. If I Know Me 6. Brand New Man 5. Small Town Saturday Night 4. Fancy 3. Chasin' That Neon Rainbow 2. She's In Love With The Boy 1. Don't Rock The Jukebox

Stats for #10:
The initial song to exit the top 10 achieved its highest and lowest positions right from the start, initially securing a place within the top 5. It maintained its status as a consistent top 10 contender for the majority of its duration, with a total of sixteen participants ranking it within their top half.

"You Know Me Better Than That" was released in June 1991 as the second single from George Strait's eleventh studio album, Chill of an Early Fall, and peaked at number 1 on the country charts were it remained for three consecutive weeks. After remaining unscathed up until the top 30, this comes on the heels of the departure of "I've Come to Expect It From You" and "The Chill of an Early Fall," leaving "If I Know Me" as his sole remaining song in contention. As many of you had predicted, this song was indeed the first to exit the top 10, surprising some that it had made it this far. What may come as a surprise to some is that it had been one of our most consistent top 10 contenders, maintaining its position for the better part of its run. There was a minor hiccup early on when it briefly dipped outside the top 15. Overall, with the exception of 🌺CountryLineDancer's bottom 30 ranking, everyone else placed it at or near their top half. Among them, four participants included this song in their top 10, with nathanalbright ranking it in his top 3 and George Strait Junkie in his top 5.
