"Don't Tell Me What to Do" was released in December 1990 as the debut single from Pam Tillis' first album for Arista Nashville, titled Put Yourself in My Place. It went on to become her breakthrough single, reaching a peak position within the top 5 on the country music charts. A total of sixteen participants ranked this song within their top half, with the majority of them falling within the top 25. Among these participants, five placed the song inside their top 10, including two top 5 rankings from 🌺CountryLineDancer and a #1 ranking from castleoblivion26. Similar to the previous song, this track did receive a single bottom 30 ranking, courtesy of gardyfan. However, he was one of only two participants who didn't include the song in their top half.

As many of you had predicted, this song was indeed the first to exit the top 10, surprising some that it had made it this far. Would have gotten higher if he had left the cat out of it.

“If I Know Me” is a phenomenal song but one that isn’t usually at the top of the mind when discussing Strait’s best singles — that’s more of his enormous and outstanding catalog. It tends to fly a bit under the radar. I’m happy it made it this far, however.
The rest are pretty iconic for ‘90s country staples. Not surprised any are left. Hal Ketchum isn’t the big name the others are but “Small Town Saturday Night” is so great. It’s universally loved.

"If I Know Me" was released in March 1991 as the first single to George Strait's eleventh studio album, Chill of an Early Fall, and peaked at #1 on the country charts. This is the fourth and final song from George in the rankdown to exit, following on the heels of the album's other single, "You Know Me Better Than That," which bowed out just as we entered the top 10. This started off as our initial runner-up, thanks to George Strait Junkie, who began the rankdown with the song's highest position. From there, it dipped back outside of the top 30 as it received two of its three rankings outside the top half. However, this downturn was short-lived as it quickly rebounded, and by the middle of the rankdown, it remained a top 10 contender for the duration of its run. The majority of the group did end up placing this song somewhere within their top 30, with bboat11, castleoblivion26, and LBTrocks all ranking it within their top 10.

Stats for #7:
While the next exiting song started as an initial bottom 30 contender, it quickly rebounded and jumped into the top 15 before coming to rest at its highest position in the final moments of the rankdown. Nine participants lost a top 10 ranking, including a pair of runner-ups and someone's #1 ranking.

I loved 80's Reba, 90's Reba was not as good to me. Now get off my lawn. (I get that a lot of folks love it, I am not one of those people)

Originally written and recorded by Bobbie Gentry in 1969, Reba McEntire released "Fancy" in February 1991 as the third single from her sixteenth studio album, Rumor Has It, where it peaked at #8 on the country charts. Reba had desired to record the song for years, but her producer at the time, Jimmy Bowen, was against it, believing the song was too closely associated with Gentry. When Reba changed producers to Tony Brown, she was able to record it, and since then, it has become one of her signature hits. Despite starting off in the bottom 30, this quickly rebounded and jumped into the top 15, picking up a pair of runner-ups from both someguy and nathanalbright, as well as a top 5 from both myself and CoJoFan. In total, the majority of the group ranked this within their top 20, with only a trio of participants placing it outside of their top half altogether. It only became a top 10 contender towards the last quarter of its run, with two more top 5s from Kanenrá:ke and LBTrocks, as well as a #1 ranking from taylor is terrified.

Stats for #6:
Exiting the rankdown just a few points shy of the top 5, our next song holds the distinction of being the first to depart while consistently maintaining a top 10 position throughout its entire run. Impressively, nearly every participant ranked this song within their top half, with the exception of just two. Also, not one, not two, but THREE participants bid farewell to their top-ranked song.

"Don't Rock the Jukebox" was released in April 1991 as the lead single from Alan Jackson's sophomore album of the same name, Don't Rock the Jukebox. It was not only his second consecutive Number One single on the country charts, but it was also the most-played song of 1991. In an unexpected twist, this song claimed the runner-up spot in Alan's artist rankdown, an event yours truly hosted. Meanwhile, "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow" concluded its run in the top 3 there. This marks the initial departure of a song that consistently held a top 10 position throughout its entire journey, with the majority of the group ranking it inside or very close to their top 30. Notably, a significant portion of these rankings fell within the top 20, and six participants even included it in their top 10. Among them, nuggie99, gardyfan, and I all bid farewell to our top-ranked songs just before reaching the top 5. Interestingly, only two participants positioned this outside their top half, with 🌺CountryLineDancer placing it in his bottom 20.

"Don't Rock the Jukebox" should have easily been top 3, I totally agree! FANTASTIC song!
idk how to predict the top 5 but I'll say #1 will most definitely be "She's In Love With A Boy" and I find that... disappointing, lol. It's fine, but not one of Trisha's best IMO, and certainly not one of the best this year had to offer.
Bummed "Fancy" couldn't be the one to beat... it's way better than our (likely to be) #1 IMO.

Stats for #5:
Despite its initial placement outside the top 20, this song proved to be a steadfast top 5 contender throughout its entire journey. Virtually all participants, except for one, included it in their top 30, with the exception being a solitary entry in the bottom 30. Notably, four participants placed this in their top 10, including two #1 rankings.

Pleasantly surprised that “Don't Rock The Jukebox” missed the top 5, it is definitely weaker than other signature hits by Alan. All the songs in the top 5 are within my top 25, so pretty happy about this ending already.
