That is such a surprising stat. Nicki or Cardi never did it? Or Doja herself? Congrats to her and her “mediocre pop” 😝

Mine were rounded My current top 10 count is 5126 Some things that could make an actual count difficult so that not everyone has the same number - Double A singles
- Songs that started out as a single title and became double A song - mid chart run
- 2 song singles that flipped order during the middle of the chart run
- songs that change credit, mid chart run
- Recharted songs that later get released as a remix under the same title

Also. Nope.
Nicki has never topped US Spotify while Cardi has only topped it once (with Megan Thee Stallion on WAP).

My one counts the first ever chart. Not sure why it wouldn't be 10 off though.

Paint The Town Red and Fukumean set a precedent for hit rap songs not debuting in the top 10 and just blowing up organically

Paint The Town Red and Fukumean set a precedent for hit rap songs not debuting in the top 10 and just blowing up organically Isn't that...most rap hits in a given year lmao. I feel like we've gotten accustomed to that since hip-hop really blew up circa 2018 but like that's not really a precedent. Also both songs still debuted within the Top 20 so it's not like they were unknown upon release.

Only two, not four - your thread also shows that So 435 if you include the first ever chart, otherwise 425

Part of why top ten debuts were rare for a long time is that there wasn’t this concept of a standardized national release day for quite a long time. Stuff just went on sale when the shipments arrived, whatever day that happened to be. So the first “full” week for a single was often its 2nd or even 3rd week.

Not gonna lie, this goes pretty hard. As the resident Drake expert, would I be right in saying this is a sign it's coming this/next week? I want to say the CLB and Her Loss covers came not long before release.

Well and even when there became an official release day, for the first half of the 1990s songs were eligible for the Hot 100 the week prior to the release date which meant songs debuted off airplay only so they couldn't really debut top 10.
