omg. he is serious about getting revenge for her depriving him of the #1. Honestly, well played. ? He’ll be lucky if she doesn’t have 2x the points he’ll do.

We still have to see how things go, but I am giving the clear advantage for sure to Taylor right now. BUT if someone did have the power to stop her, it would be Drake. We have to see what the rest of the tracking week will entail. It was foolish of him to not release sooner to guarantee the #1 lock but it is what it is.

Btw let’s stop this “drake wants revenge for antihero” nonsense. They’re amicable. He made a few tweets referencing her or the deities that were positive or fun in nature last year. Stop creating drama where there isn’t any..

Top 10 Lockout is officially impossible with "Push Ups" out. The real question is if "Push Ups" can take #1 or not. It would be a huge power win if he did though, especially given that it’s a response track. What better way to show off than to beat the biggest name in music. EXACTLY. And I find it brave and commendable.

Stop creating drama where there isn’t any.. Why is it SO far fetched to think that he wants his lick back? Didn't he throw a lil shade when she robbed him of that #1 by cropping her out or something similar? I don't know why people are acting like it's ABSURD this could be a chess move on his behalf, as well as perfect timing. He knows well in advance when every other major artist is dropping so he absolutely could have avoided it if he wanted to. I'm not saying that is absolutely the case, but all this "cease discussions of this possibility" or "ohhh that's a ridiculous notion" is odd. None of us know these people to know their intentions so all speculation I've seen is fair game.

Drake actually has a history of not caring as much about #1s and charts in general as some of you think. He seems to manipulate the charts very little and employs little to no sales tactics, pretty much dropping his music whenever and letting it do well on streaming as it is, which is sometimes enough for #1, sometimes not. This week though, it will be a huge challenge to beat Taylor, but he seems to be definitely ok with not doing so. His is not a lead single with a major push, it will get very little to no airplay, very little sales, no music video.. It might get a lot of hype and attention, but at the end of the day, it's just a diss track.

Drake actually has a history of not caring as much about #1s and charts in general as some of you think. He cared enough to crop her out of that Instagram post. A person, especially a celebrity who all eyes are on, who makes a public move intentionally that could be taken as a slight against another huge name, absolutely cares to some degree. Otherwise he wouldn't have even responded or maybe even would have congratulated the individual. If he didn't care about chart peaks, he easily could have waited a week to release his diss track and had the entire week to himself. He chose to release this week to strike while the iron was hot with "Like That" and to *possibly* slight Taylor (keep her from securing that second slew of top 10s). Every dominate artist in this industry cares about charts. IMO They don't get to where they are without caring. That goes for Drake, Ariana, Taylor, Billie, all the big names. And since when did wanting to do well at your job become a negative? I never understood why people here of all places, a chart-obsessed forum, almost throw slight digs at artists for caring about success. I understand if they're overly obsessive with their placement, but they should absolutely care.

omg. he is serious about getting revenge for her depriving him of the #1. Honestly, well played. How do you even come to this conclusion 😭 With... the mountain of evidence supporting that conclusion? He went on a social media tirade when Anti-Hero blocked him, he's since referenced Taylor in multiple songs, specifically how she's the only artist who can out-chart him. He clearly sees her as his one true arch-rival (commercially), it's not a big leap to conclude that he was waiting to drop this right after TTPD to setup a rematch.

to clarify, I don't think he's in contention for #1 by any stretch of the imagination. What's in play is depriving Taylor of the top ten.

Was he cropping out Taylor in that screenshot that big of a deal? Like, it was a funny and obvious thing to do, I don't get why many take it as a sign that he's mad at her and is looking for revenge xd

Is it safe to say deuces to Fast Car, Paint the Town Red, Houdini and Wild Ones? Hopefully. I wouldn't even be mad if Cruel Summer goes too. All huge and deserving hits (well Houdini was never really huge but it also didn't crap out into oblivion quickly), but it's gonna be nice in a few weeks when the oldies and a big chunk of Taylor's album drop out and we can see some new stuff. I also feel like Sabrina taking a drop this week means nothing. She feels very much on the verge of a huge breakout era.

I confess to being team Kendrick as well but I been a huge fan of both these guys forever. I love to see Drake come with it. I think Kendrick can handle it though!

10/10 is definitely possible, Hozier is currently at 285 points or so (would've been enough for #6 during Midnights release), Taylor's #10 song had around 263 points, and I guess she will do something (discount) if Hozier is predicted to chart in #6-#10 area. Also, there are currently 4 songs over 200 points, so I guess 16/20 is possible, or 15/20 if "Espresso" surprises. The current Hot 100 formula is different from Midnight's release. Too Sweet would have a higher point total back then since the current formula makes the points look weaker compared to then.

Anti-Hero on its second week still beat a new Drake song. This was supposed to be AH week 2 but Taylor maked Drake drop the album just a little later. So it was AH third week when she had 200k+ sales week.

The songs mirroring the tracklist basically identically on streaming so far kinda emphasizes there not being lots of obvious hits here. Though I absolutely think ICDIWABH could be fighting or even beating Fortnight if placed in the first 3 or 4 slots.
At any rate, I’m really hoping (against all odds) at least 3 or 4 of the top ten aren’t her. This album simply does not deserve ten top tens. So much of these songs I would bet money will not stick whatsoever outside her core fandom after week 1. It feels ludicrous for this of all album to have ten top ten “hits”, this is such a flaw with the current chart methodology.

I do hope Drake can sneak through or Hozier/Future manage to cling on, they all have good songs

Look at whatever mess is the UK chart. Only three songs chart and then they arbitrarily get their points halved because they want shorter runs... it's inaccurate af.

I would personally love to see a “qualifying” week put in place for the hot 100 where nothing can chart in its initial release week of streaming. See what actually holds up past fan-rush. Not like you eliminate #1 debut possibilities either, since it’s 2nd week would be its “debut.”

Drake mission is to ruin 10/10 this time. It’s not his “mission” … He needed to get it out, he’s in a beef with Kendrick Lamar. Messing up her top 10 can be a extra side thing but it is not his overall mission. Important stuff is going on outside of Taylor Swift related things.
