No it isn't Levitating - #2 New Rules - #6 Dance the Night - #6 #6 isn't a top 5 hit. What am I missing? Anyway it doesn't matter if it was top 5 or not. "Dance the Night" and "New Rules" were both bigger than that Katy song, regardless of peak. Apologies I misread and thought they meant 2 top 10 hits. But as you said Dance the Night and New Rules are bigger than anything Katy has put out recently and as I said, chart positions don't tell the whole story.

Dua Lipa has always been inconsistent on the Hot 100. I don't think she's ever had back-to-back top 10s, so this really is normal for her. Plus as we've seen with Hozier, anyone can come back with the right song at the right time.
She's already had like 15 or more top 10s in the UK, though, which is terrific.

Drake really brought the Boogeyman out! I am LIVING seeing Kendrick devour. Like, Drake is tryna hurt feelings and Kendrick is trying to bury Drake alive. π Two completely different levels.

Kendrick's "Not Like Us" is probably my favourite he's done so far, damn!
Apple Music
1. Kendrick Lamar - "euphoria" 4. Future, Metro Boomin & Kendrick Lamar - "Like That" 33. Kendrick Lamar - "Not Like Us"
3. Drake - "Family Matters" 8. Drake - "Push Ups"
Expecting "Not Like Us" to zoom into the top 10 and "meets the grahams" to debut in the next updates.

The gap between albums isn't comparable. Dua kept doing singles and has dropped an album's worth of standalone singles and collabs since. She's never quite stopped being active. Katy straight up vanished between This is How We Do and Rise. And neither felt like a good note to start and end a hiatus since they're both amongst her least loved singles. Straight up vanished? She had the biggest moment of with career in 2015 with the Super Bowl Halftime Showβ¦

Whatcha Doing not debuting in top 200 is sad, it's my favorite from the new dua album.

it'll be funny if the chart looks like Kendrick had an album bomb just from his songs dragging Drake.

According to DJHed, who foreshadowed that Kendrick would release Not Like Us, there is ANOTHER DISS in the chamber loaded for today

According to DJHed, who foreshadowed that Kendrick would release Not Like Us, there is ANOTHER DISS in the chamber loaded for today I heard the same, and saw ScHoolboy Q tweeing out βSunday Service πβ Honestly, he might just drop a track every day until Friday and release it all as a tape.

I loved those SNL clips of Dua on here. Great performances and I bet it helps her sales and streaming.

"I Remember Everything" back in the top 20 on Spotify. Legendary. Zach Bryan on streaming charts looks like Barney from the Simpsons meme.

Interested to see Kendrick's spotify numbers tomorrow. Might be able to get 3 top 10s and 4 top 20s on the upcoming Hot 100? *_*

I think this year is the best year for pop music since 2012.

The irony of me having a whole ass tangent the other week about flash in the pans taking over on the hot 100 and something like a qualifying rule, only to have two artists drop 84 arguments with each other in a row now that will all hit top ten on the hot 100 and then fall into oblivion.

beyonce's most streamed on Spotify atm: 1 Texas Hold em 2 crazy in love 3 ii most wanted 4 halo Others are under half-million daily. Katy has 10 at 500k+, Rihanna as lead has 11.
A bit surprised. Wonder if most wanted can be a cuff it, or maybe a deluxe rerelease single...

But the songs are actively being streamed and are being widely discussed online and in real life. Wasn't that the point to your argument, that the songs actually be known instead of random album tracks that will be gone in a couple weeks? Well, here you go. The popularity of these songs will be accurately represented on the Hot 100.

If anything comes out of them long term it will be all the (gross) allegations, not the music. Only the most diehard Drake and Kendrick fans are likely to remember these (save for maybe Like That) years down the line. Itβs exactly what I was arguing against and itβs still factual this did not used to happen all the time on the hot 100 back before this decade when the top ten still held a certain prestige.

Drake dropped another song, havenβt heard yet but apparently he touched on yet more sensitive subjects to use against Kendrick.
This is beyond simple Hip-Hop drama and seems to be taking a weird turn. I really donβt feel comfortable using trauma on both ends as a laughing skit or one up. Iβm over this itβs really beyond a beef and very creepy.
Itβs crazy that anyone would want allegations or weird traumatic things to be true because they like one personβs music more.

Once again, the major error you continue to make is applying a long-term to a weeklong snapshot. What you keep saying is no different than taking a picture of a person at the beach and being upset that the picture doesn't depict whether that person is single or where they work.

But it also doesnβt change my main point that this did not used to happen very frequently, and thus slowly but surely eats away at the prestige of a high hot 100 peak. Iβm ready for billboard to just go back to the βsingles onlyβ hot 100 rule at this point tbh, and I despised that rule.

So you would rather the charts be inaccurate for the sake of having "a certain prestige"
