Her label is really screwing her! Didn't get placed on Spotify Today's Top Hits like WTF! It did get placed at #7 on Spotify New Music Friday.

If this was solo, I'd probably like it. It doesn't scream "hyperpop" to me. This has a decent melody. Nas X kinda ruins it though. No one goes brrrrrrrddt anymore.

Is it as bad as her lost song? No. Does it still suck? Yes. Although it suits Lil Nas X a lot. I think I just can't buy Camila in a song like this. It's so fake

The intro is hot, the melody is fire. Also probably the most I’ve liked LNX lately. Camila’s vocals are better than I expected.
I don’t think it’s a #1 hit, but I think it’s solid. Could be a fun summer hit.
LNX and that “brrrdddddt” lol. It’s like he just learned how to finally make that noise and felt the need to randomly throw it in every 10 seconds 🤣

It sounds like random noise, Sudafed Cabello sounds like she do and Nas ain't it on this one. This is painfully what modern music sounds like now . No hook, melody just random noises over a beat 😭

This is a lot like "I Luv It," in that there's elements of it I like, but she throws one too many things at the wall. I think it would have worked better solo.

This was produced by Jasper Harris -- who I just learned is only 27 years old -- but he did "First Class" - Jack Harlow, "Montero" - LNX, "Greedy" - Tate McRae, "Its Not My Fault" - Renee Rapp & MTS and wrote songs recently for Doja ("OKLOSER") and Ice Spice.
Also, he produced "I Luv It" for Camila.
I think I just moved from "interested" to "excited" for this album.

I actually think this is pretty good, I like LNX's verse although it was a tad bit too short. And I like the production, the atmosphere is very Miami club after midnight.

Good news that it's going for adds on Pop radio! I agree on the streaming numbers. I have no idea if labels pay for playlisting on Spotify, but it seems like Camila's team used up their "good will" (so to speak) to get "I Luv It" some decent playlisting and then *boom* didn't do anything to push the song. This debuting on New Music Friday behind all the Kendrick and Drake songs and not even showing up on Todays Top Hits isn't ideal. I hope radio embraces it. It's arguably perfect for summer and it sounds different than a lot of the rest of the format ATM, and that could bode well for her. |
