It's a shame that Camila's biggest fan couldn't be with us to celebrate this smash of a song. As soon as it starts, I get hype. The video is kinda weird, honestly. Did Lil Nas X sleep with Shawn? It felt like she was using this video to make a statement. Either way, I hope the song does well. I think Lil Nas X's part is my favorite.

IMO, when you have Taylor, Beyonce, Billie Eilish and Post Malone releasing albums starting new eras; Olivia Rodrigo,Doja Cat, Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa fully into eras, more R&B/urban artists in Tommy Richman and Sza popping off, the country crossovers of Jelly Roll, Jessie Murph, Dasha and Morgan Wallen taking real estate; newer artists like Noah Kahan, Benson Boone and Teddy Swims breaking through and making noise; add on social media viral artists like Chappell Roan and Shaboozey starting to take off, Sabrina Carprenter now securing full radio buy in, Hozier getting a big comeback hit - there is A LOT of noise for her to cut through and I’m not sure she’s adding something different enough to the landscape to cut through. The timing is ROUGH as it’s insanely competitive right now in mainstream music.

With the charts as competitive as they are right now, the label really should've stuck with i luv it. that song had decent streaming numbers, and even if you argue that radio wouldn't have responded well to it, it was certainly relevant for the time it came out, while this has had absolutely no buzz at all.
