DWAS doesn’t have a shot at top 2 this week. I Had Some Help & Bar Song are both still pulling more streams (when you combine all services) and then there’s the colossal radio difference which is effectively much bigger in points than any sales difference.

The ceiling for its debut is #3. If the streams hold up strongly in following weeks it can possibly repeak in the third week or later once radio is caught up.

^ Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, but yes, if it does do that, it would also be her first multi-week #1 of the streaming era in general (2013 and afterward) which really puts things into perspective to see that some of her earlier hits are that old (Just Dance, 2008 and Born This Way, 2011).

I love SZA and "Saturn" but radio needs to let go of it, like why is it still clogging up the radio top ten?

It's taking "Birds Of A Feather" and "Good Luck, Babe!" ages to enter the radio top ten, meanwhile "Saturn" - "Beautiful Things" and "Lose Control" are still top ten. It's just very frustrating and doesn't make any sense.

The verses of Applause are pretty jarring for radio. I mean I’ve always adored them, but I’m also a monster lol. But those verses absolutely did not sound like “smash hit” back in 2013. She’s lucky the chorus is so undeniable or there’s totally a chance it could have been a huge chart flop imo.

And since you also brought up TEOG, Judas killed that song’s potential to possibly be a career defining hit for her. She got huge backlash at the time and it really kinda halted the era’s momentum + the rollout for TEOG was rushed and lazy with minimal effort made. Shame, shoulda been such an easy #1 smash for her.

I can actually see DWAS being an even bigger radio hit than streaming, and it’s sure looking like a big streaming hit at this point. But I feel like CHR and the AC formats are going to just be all over this in the long run, very much like a Flowers (which ironically enough is kinda tied to Bruno too).

I think Gaga burned out a lot of people with Born This Way and there was nowhere to go but down for any ARTPOP singles. The album also wasn't quite up to par with any of her previous projects.

Well, now Judas is among her most listened songs on Spotify on a daily basis. She was always ahead of her time with BTW and ARTPOP (and also Joanne paved the way to country pop albums like Younger Now by Miley even though it's mediocre at times as an album).

People were so over Gaga when “Applause” came out that it’s a surprise it did as well as it did - and then “Do What U want” did as well as it did too. Artpop did as well as it did despite many odds stacked against her.

Was it leaked or something? 'Applause' the hook is amazing, but the production would've benefited from a lighter touch. It was too dense in certain parts. 'Artpop' has a few gems, but was a mess.

DWUW would've been great as a solo track. The whole R. Kelly mess. Those disgusting performances with him. And that gross single cover.

Thank goodness someone clued her in. She shelved the video, which sounded even worse than the performances, recorded a new version with Christina and wisely teamed with Tony Bennett. In quick order, she restored her reputation. That era should stay deep in the her past. Not her best moments.
