OK, an easier hint: You're on the right track with your guess of "Thankyou". Just put a space in between the "k" and the "y" and add three more words. Bon Jovi - Thank You For Loving Me

And now that I've located my chart, we can go on with this game:
45) A lot of people think this song sounds like "I Believe I Can Fly".
44) CS: A song that has a grand piano intro and the artist, all of sixteen years old (or so) humming along with it.
43) CS: This song kicked off the 3/31/01 edition of 20: The Countdown Magazine. It's a song by one of the year's top Christian singers, with backing vocals by a woman who will do anything God wants her to.
42) A song by a male singer who had three big hits in 2000, including a #1 AC song. This song is the third one and spilled over into 2001.
41) CS: If you do this, all things are possible.
GOOD LUCK!!

It is indeed "My Baby You".
(I'm waiting for Cribbins to reply before I give easier clues)

Oh, come on! These clues aren't that hard, are they?
Well, OK, here are a few easier clues:
45) The name of this group equals a hot day!
44) Not Stacie Orrico, but this song was beginning its chart run while Stacie was enjoying her first #1 hit.
43) Remember - the song is sung by one of the year's top Christian singers, teaming up with a woman who will go through the fire if God wants her to.
42) Already guessed.
41) When you (blank) (blank) (blank)/All things are possible...

Very good, Cribbins, you got the song and artists right for #43 and 41 and the right artist for #44.

Very good!
Now, to kick off the Top 40:
40) A patriotic song sung by one of A/C's top artists of all time
39) This song, by a man with a color in his name, didn't get anywhere near as much exposure as it deserved, as it petered out at number 31 (on R&R's CHR/Pop) in early 2001
38) This song reminds me a lot of "Show Me The Way" by Peter Frampton.
37) This song, from a teen superstar (at the time), apparently infatuated with someone, sounds like song #52 on this countdown
36) And this song is the follow-up to that #52 song.
GOOD LUCK!!!

37) I never heard #52 but I will take a wild guess... Michelle Branch - Everywhere Nope - that song was already correctly guessed at #79. Easier clues: 38) This song was sung by twins. 37) This artist's first song rhymed with her first name.

Cerebro, you're right with song #38.
As for Cribbins, you have the right artist, wrong song. My clue to the song "Candy" was for when I was referring to the fact that the song title rhymed with her first name.
So song #37 is unguessed as yet.

Let's get this over with already... Gosh, somebody's grumpy! ;) Oh, THIS is the song? Wow, this song came out in 2000 and it made your top 40 year-end in 2001? That's impressive...

Just in case Matt's wrong, I'm guessing Mandy Moore "Crush" for #37.

Good call, Aaron. Song #37 is indeed "Crush". "I Wanna Be With You" is from 2000 and, even though it did well on my chart, it had long since faded away by the first of 2001.
I'll post the next set of songs when I get home, since that's where I left the list...

OK, here are the next five songs:
35) This woman had a few minor A/C hits back in the early 1990s, but she stormed onto both of the A/C charts and the CHR/Pop chart with a vengeance in the summer of 1997 with one of the year's biggest hits. This was another minor A/C hit from the spring of 2001.
34) This song is from the summer/fall of 2001. The song that preceded it barely touched the CHR/Pop chart. That song (which mind you, is NOT the song in question) has the sound effect of an air raid siren in it. When I first heard the song, I was driving through Kewanna by a water tower that had a siren mounted on it and I thought it was going!
33) This song, by an R&B group, shares the same title as many other songs that have charted, by artists including Aerosmith and Kenny Rogers.
32) The daughter of a legendary singer had a heavenly being watching over her.
31) This song has a lot in common with song #73 - it's a country song that mysteriously disappeared from the AT20 chart for a week only to reappear high up on the chart.
GOOD LUCK!!

35) Toni Braxton - Spanish Guitar? (although I thought Toni had her biggest hit in the winter of 1997 with Unbreak My Heart).
