As I promised a few months back on one of Cerebro's guessing games, I bring you, the Top 100 of 2001 based on my Personal Top 30 charts (note: This isn't from my version of 2001's CHR/Pop charts, which I posted on the old R&R boards about two years ago. This list is way different, especially, since 40 percent of the list consists of Christian songs (so I'm not sure how fast this game will go, since I realize most of you aren't familiar with much Christian music). Well, let's get this game underway right now. "CS" denotes "Christian Song"
100) CS: This fenale Christian artist has two songs on my chart this year. For anyone who's heard the short-lived GorillaForce Top 50 of 2001, both of these songs were very close to the Top Ten on that chart. This is the song that charted first, in May of 2001.
99) This song, by an Irish band, was charting at the time of the September 11 bombings and the title described how many people said they felt like after the attacks.
98) CS: By an artist whose name resembles the name of Howard Jones' first hit. This song charted in the spring of 2001 and is about what devoted Christians feel about God
97) I woke up late for work, didn't have any clean clothes to wear, my car ran out of fuel on the way, my boss chewed me out for being late, and I ended up getting fired. What did I just describe?
96) This singer had one of the most overplayed songs of 1995/1996, the title being similar to the first line in a popular bedtime prayer. This song, the singer's only hit in 2001, is, perhaps, about her seeing someone else wearing her clothes?
95) This song charted twice, at the end of 2000 and again about a year later. It went to recurrent on the R&R A/C chart the very week it began losing spins.
94) This male singer from Chicago was all over the charts in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but it was clear that he was done when this song fizzled out on the R&R chart below number 20 (however, it DID make the AT20 chart, when they were using a warped Mediabase chart in the first half of 2001)
93) These two words are said before delving into a huge feast.
92) This song, by an Englishman with a raspy voice, charted at the beginning of 2001 and sounds much like "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals.
91) This song dodged the "Recurrent Police" on the weird Mediabase chart AT20 was using everytime the chart was purged. Supposedly, there was an agreement that Casey would get a condo if this song broke the longevity record on AT20.

Guess I'll kick off the guessing with #99: U2, "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of"

And right you are.
After these ten clues are guessed, I think I'll do like Cerebro did and only post five at a time, to make things much easier. I know I could just edit my last post and hack off the last five, but I don't think I will.

"Stuck In A Moment" was already correctly guessed. The song you guessed for 95, though it is on the chart, it is not at #95. That song went recurrent on the CHR/Pop chart very soon after it began fizzling out, not A/C. This song was bigger on the Pop chart on its second chart run.
You did, however, guess #93 right.

96) Sophie B. Hawkins, "Walking In My Blue Jeans" 95) LeAnn Rimes, "Can't Fight The Moonlight"
And I think #94 is Richard Marx, but I'm drawing a blank on the song.

Good on your guesses of 96 and 95 and you do have the right artist for song #94. Now, all you have to do is to just find out this singer's only charted hit during the year of 2001...
And now, all that remains are songs 100, 98 and 92. If and when a certain poster who knows his Christian music, 100 and 98 might be guessed.
Meanwhile, here's an easier clue for song #92: This Englishman had a ton of hits in the 70s, 80s and 90s. In fact, on the R&R CHR/Pop chart, he had one of the first number ones of the 1990s.

98. Newsong - Wonderful One (if this is correct, it's probably one of the only CS's I will have heard) 92. Rod Stewart - I Can't Deny It
(We can look up outside sources to help us, right?)

Yes, since many of these songs are rather obscure, looking up outside sources is totally OK.
And you have the two songs right.
Now, we have the title and artist of #100 and the title of song #94 unguessed.
A few additional clues:
100) A clue for the song title: My heart, my tongue and the piece of cake I ate for dinner. The common thread, they're all... And the last name of this person (Two words) is one of the squares on the Monopoly board.
94) The title of this song refers to a place, which a half male/half female Christian group, who had one of the hottest songs of 2001, is named after.
GOOD LUCK!!

Hmm, seems like the message I posted was deleted. Oh well. Anyhoo, JCMF3 is right on the money with both guesses (although Richard Marx's song is actually "Days In Avalon", but that's close enough). Maybe JCMF3 will be instrumental in figuring out the Christian songs on my chart.
Here is the next set of clues:
90) The success of this hit on the CHR/Pop and Hot AC chart helped it to become a minor hit at AC radio in early 2003. The title describes someone about to give someone else a big hug.
89) CS: This song, which was one of few that didn't make it to the 20: Countdown chart (to my knowledge). It came out at the end of 2001 and actually made its biggest impact on my chart in 2002. The title of this song is what'll happen to you (or actually what will never happen to you) if you keep on drinking Gator Ade. The name of the group has to do with oil.
88) This song, a mid-charter on the AC chart in the spring, is by one of the most successful bands of the 1980s. However, they had a different lead singer on this one, who didn't sound much different than the original lead singer.
87) Remember back in late March, 2001 when AT20 purged their chart? This was a song that was sucked back onto the chart as a result of that. It's by a group who goes by the name of their female lead singer, whose first hit was from about this time in 1985.
86) The singer of this song had much reason to say the title of this song to AC radio for playing this song over and over again throughout 2001.
GOOD LUCK!!

Very good, Cribbins! (I'm surprised you didn't guess song #89).
Song #90 remains unguessed as well. I figured that would be the first one guessed (since I gave a similar clue in the guessing game of my version of 2001's CHR/Pop charts, which was done back on the old R&R boards in January, 2002.

Maybe it's a little early, but I'll post a few easier clues about the unguessed songs:
90) The band who sings this song started out as a Christian Alternative band.
89) When I called Pulse FM during their evening request show, I requested this song as "Drink From The Water" and they didn't know what song I was talking about. So "Drink from the water" is a repeated phrase in the chorus of this song.
GOOD LUCK!!

#90 is right, but #89 is not. Michael does sing "Drink From The Water" in "Give It Away", but not in the chorus. Besides, that song is from his 1992 album "Change Your World" and we're talking about 2001 hits.
Actually, I made a slight faux pas in the lyrics. It's actually "Drink from THIS water".
And the group is named after the practice of blessing someone with oil.

hmmm..was it the title cut of that album "if We Pray"? I barely remember that song at all, I even tried to cheat and look up the lyrics to see if they had anything about drinking this water and I couldn't find them.

Hmm, it worked for me.
Anyway, here's one last clue (before I tell it outright)
The title of the song in question has three words. Fill in the blanks in order of appearance and you should have the title of the song.
Madonna sang "(blank) See" in late 1995
Heart's big Top Five hit from late 1985 was called "(blank)"
If you go for a long time without liquid, you (blank)
GOOD LUCK!!

YESSSS! Now we can go on with the game:
85) This song climbed up the CHR/Pop chart slowly and went recurrent not long after it peaked.
84) This song, by a teen country singer (at the time, anyway) was released at the end of 2001 (so it actually gained more points in 2002), almost exactly three years after another song of hers, which this one sounds very much like.
83) CS: Regarding the title of this song, Parents often say this to their children when they get in trouble, as a way of saying that they understand.
82) A duet between a young lady and a man old enough to be her father. I guess you could say they did a cover version of a miracle.
81) CS: This was a song by a group who had one of the biggest Christian AC song. The title is similar to an old Curtis Stigers hit.
GOOD LUCK!!

Well, you're right with song 82, but not with 85. FFF never hit my chart, since I never liked that song in the first place before it was played to death. (For future reference, "Hero" by Enrique isn't on this chart, neither). No, this is a song that barely made the Top 20 (if it even made the Top 20 at all).

OK, here are a few easier clues:
85) The group who sang this song had a minor hit in late 1995 that would have done better if not for a woman who was much more well-known having a song with thr same title.
84) This song has a one-word title that is another word for "before long"
83) The singer of this song, from late 2001, had two #1 songs on 20: The Countdown Magazine in 2000, one of which was a song about a boy with leukemia.
81) OK, take Curtis Stiger's first big Pop hit, subtract the shortest word in the song and you have the title of this song, and it's by a group who was mentioned in one of the first ten clues in this game.

84) This song has a one-word title that is another word for "before long" I'm guessing LeAnn Rimes is the artist. But the title...? No clue. 81) OK, take Curtis Stiger's first big Pop hit, subtract the shortest word in the song and you have the title of this song, and it's by a group who was mentioned in one of the first ten clues in this game. 81) Avalon - Wonder Why
