I'm not gonna predict just yet. I wanna first wait how radio react to the song. If it was up to me, I would atleast make "The Voice Within" reach the top 10.

I'll be optimistic and say this will peak at #10.

I'll say #18... it won't be a big hit, but it won't be a big flop either.

You have to be damn near stupid to think this song will be a Top 5 hit . This will be her biggest flop.........by a mile. I think it will recieve almost the same results as "Baby I Love U!" My prediction: #23

While I don't think this will chart high, (perhaps mid 20's), I think it was the right single to release this time of the year.
It is adult friendly and will get AC play, meaning it will be in adult's minds as the hit their local Best Buy to purchse Christmas gifts for their children, nephews and nieces. Maybe even a few will buy it for themselves.
Remember, singles are released to sell albums first, and chart high second.

I haven't heard it, but #25 anyway. If my prediction came true, I'll probably never hear it.

Christina is going to have more success with this song over at AC than at CHR/Pop. I wouldn't mind listening this song at a CHR/Pop station though... As for my prediction, I will say #17.

Last I checked, Britney/Madonna didn't have a song called "The Voice Within" from the album Stripped, which is what this topic YOU created is about.

I underpredicted with every song off of 'Stripped' so far except for 'Dirrty'. The same will probably happen here. I'll say it'll hit #7 or no/chart.

What i meant to say J was that when you claimed it would peak at #25 then that would mean you probably won't hear it on the radio, and since Britney/Madonna are lower than #25, i was wondering if you heard their song yet, and every other song below #25.

I'm going to be really optimistic and say #9. It is a great song, is perfect for the season, and I believe radio loves Christina too much to let this be a massive flop.

I really love this one, but I don't think it's good for radio. #19

In my experience of hearing hits on the radio, there's no corelation to hearing a song on the radio that was a big hit on the CHR/Pop chart. In its heyday, I NEVER heard Next's 'Too Close' on the radio unless it was AT40 or some other chart countdown. Meanwhile, the radio played 'Babylon' a lot and that peaked in the 30s on the chart but if my station was any indication, it was a Top 10 hit and Next's song wasn't. So I'm sure what J means is that if Christina peaks at #25, higher or lower, it's probably not something that his station would play.

I'm surprised you like the song that much Josh.
Anyway, I'm gonna keep my expectations pretty low, my hope is that it can at the very least reach #20, so I'll go with that.

Yeah, I especially love the chorus with the choir.
By the way, I was able to easily edit "Walk Away" down to 4:15 for anyone who said that there was no way to edit it for radio. You can fade it out before the end where it drags and you can take the crap out before the final chorus. That way the bridge just goes into the chorus and not into the third verse, which is a little too adlib-ish for radio.

Would there be a way for me to get this edit of yours? :)

I haven't listened to the song since finding out it was a single (or since last year, for that matter) but is this the one that's over 6 minutes long that no one said would be a single but people wanted it to be?! Is there a radio edit for it? Or a remix?

Don't be daft. I didn't say I've never heard ALL songs that peak below #25 on radio. Obviously, my station plays some of those, but obviously my chances of hearing a song peaking at #25 on radio are slimmer than if it peaked in the Top 10. And for that matter, I haven't heard the Britney & Madonna song on radio yet, but someone provided a link to it before, so I downloaded it. And "Juan", that explanation is really unnecessary.

"The Voice Within" is Christina's second best vocal performance on "Stripped." "Walk Away" is too long, and just not radio friendly, so "The Voice Within" was a good choice. The song should explode right around the time Grammy voters get their primary ballot. I predict a peak of number 4. It's going to be the second best ballad on radio, and add the fact that it's Christina, I see big things for this song.
I also think a sixth single, and maybe even a seventh single will be released. "The Voice Within" is by no means the end of "Stripped." It's still a major seller, primary due to radio response. There is no way RCA is going to stop releasing singles until Christina wraps her second Spanish language cd next year.

Hopefully it will be a hit, but i do have my doubts. One thing i bet though is that we will never see this song have anything above +700 in gains, it's the type of song that climbs very very slow. "The Voice Within" is an okay song, i don't hate it, it's just that it sounds like one of those cheesy ballads from her first album.

I like this song and hope that it at least reaches the top 10. Btw, what happened to Impossible. Someone mentioned on the old board that RCA wanted TWI while Christina wanted I. Sounds like RCA won again Impossible would have done much better.
